Two major components make up ecosystems: abiotic and biotic.
1. Abiotic components are non-living physical and chemical factors like water, air, soil nutrients, temperature, light, and precipitation. These environmental conditions and resources influence living organisms.
2. Biotic components are the living parts, including producers, consumers, and decomposers. Producers like plants capture energy through photosynthesis. Consumers eat producers or other organisms. Decomposers break down dead organic material and release nutrients.
Organisms within ecosystems interact through predation, competition, and symbiotic relationships like parasitism, commensalism, and mutualism. Together the biotic and abiotic components
