1. TV and Film Brief
The London Film academy has a position for
a freelance instructor. As part of the
interview process you are required to
demonstrate your understanding of editing
techniques as well as your editing ability
You are required to re-make a 4-minute section of an
old classic or new blockbuster.
You must choose a continuous sequence that you can
modernize or re-shoot.
1. You must demonstrate how you prepared for your shoot by showing:
Organisation of the edit (in folders on n PP)
Checking material for faults(sheets provided)
Producing a rushes log(print screen capture bin)
Marking up a script(sheets provided)
Professional practice
Labeling tapes/Memory Cards
Storing filmin folders (print screen)
Producing an edit decision list(sheets provided)
Creating binsin Premier Pro (print screen)
Naming folders and sequences correctly (print screen)
Work will be characterised by preparation, which is thorough, systematic and
detailed. Rushes logs will show a full appreciation of the possibilities and
limitations of shots, and edit decision lists will provide a fully detailed
blueprint for the final piece. All paperwork will be clear and organised to
a near-professional standard.
2. You must then edit your production - You will marked on your
creativity:
Pace of editing
Transitions
Use of Camera angles / shots
Sound
Continuity of shots (180 degree rule)
Ability to tell a story / create narrative
Using effects correctly to create an emotion
Adding sound to create an emotion
Mise en scene of your production
You must then export your work in the correct format, burn to DVD and
upload to your bog
NB: In both circumstances in all practical activity distinction grade
learners will be capable of working autonomously and effectively. The term
