The purpose of this assignment is to: 
LO1: Understand the features of single camera production 
LO2: Be able to plan a single camera production 
LO3: Be able to apply single camera techniques in a production 
Scenario 
Film production is a collaborative team effort. Successful film productions rely on team work and 
working within specific roles. You are to commence the pre-production, production and post-production 
phases of your film opening title sequence. You will prepare the relevant pre-production materials and 
use this pre-production documentation to produce your film opening title sequence. 
Prior to filming you must ensure that you thoroughly understand your job role and the responsibilities 
that accompany your role. To ensure the smooth running of the production process, it is essential that 
you do not encroach on the job roles of others in your team. Remember, good communication and team 
work skills are essential and every member of your production team is expected to equally 
contribute to the production of your film opening title sequence production. 
Film production is rarely a smooth process and inevitably you will encounter difficulties. The challenge 
for you as film producers is ensuring that your production does not come to a halt due to unforeseen 
production difficulties. For this assignment you will need to provide evidence of how you manage and 
deal with production (and any problems that may arise) in the form of a production photo diary. 
Once the production process is complete you and your team will use post-production techniques to edit 
your film opening title sequence. In many ways, post-production is the most important part of any media 
production. It is the final stage of the production process that allows you to creatively shape and mould 
your production into an intended vision. For this assignment you must produce individual edits of your 
film opening title sequence. This will help you to provide evidence of knowledge and application of 
video post-production techniques.

Tasks Grading Criteria Mapping 
Task 1 
Produce a comprehensive word-processed analysis of three film opening title 
sequences. 
Using subject specific terminology, you must gather moving images examples by 
film genre (type of film) and comment on how styles, techniques and conventions 
have been used to appeal to target audiences. 
Your examples must be from a range of film genres. 
You must include video examples AND still images from your chosen films to 
help illustrate your observations. 
*Your examples and analysis must be uploaded to your IG1 assignment blog and 
the blog post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Analysis 
Unit 22: P1/M1/D1 
Task 2 
Showing creativity and flair generate ideas for a film opening title sequence 
production. 
These ideas can be presented in the form of sketches, hand drawn and digitally 
produced mind maps, mood boards, images you have gathered or found 
*All ideas generation must be uploaded to your IG1 assignment blog and 
the blog post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Ideas 
Generation 
Unit 22: P2/M2/D2 
Task 3 
Produce content specific pre-production planning for your chosen film opening title 
sequence idea. 
This should include a broad selection of the following: 
 A script 
 Storyboards (hand drawn) 
 Location reconnaissance reports 
 Risk assessments 
 Evidence of regular production team meetings (these can be uploaded onto 
your IG1 blog in either a word-processed or audio format) 
*Your pre-production & planning evidence must be uploaded your IG1 blog and 
the blog post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Pre Production 
Unit 22: P2/M2/D2 
Task 4 
Using pre-production documentation produced in task 3; you must work as a team 
to shoot your film opening title sequence. It is expected that you will need to shoot 
and/or re-shoot additional footage during this process. 
You must also photographically document the production phase of your film opening 
Unit 22: P3/M3/D3

title sequence. Mobile phones can be used for this purpose. 
Once the production phase of your film opening title sequence shoot is complete, 
you must upload your photographs and include annotations that explain the events 
of your shoot. 
*Your production photo diary evidence must be uploaded your IG1 blog and the 
blog post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Production Photo Diary 
Task 5 
1. Produce a rough edit of your film opening title sequence using the rushes you 
have uploaded into Adobe Premiere as a group. 
2. When finished, you must explain what improvements you will make for your 
final edit. This can be word processed or voice recorded. 
3. Produce a final edit of your music video. This final edit must include industry 
job relevant title credits. 
*Your post production evidence must be uploaded your IG1 blog and the blog 
post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Post Production Photo Diary

Successful film productions rely on team work and working within specific roles. You are to commence the pre-production, production and post-production phases of your film opening title sequence. You will prepare the relevant pre-production materials and use this pre-production documentation to produce your film opening title sequence. Prior to filming you must ensure that you thoroughly understand your job role and the responsibilities that accompany your role. To ensure the smooth running of the production process, it is essential that you do not encroach on the job roles of others in your team. Remember, good communication and team work skills are essential and every member of your production team is expected to equally contribute to the production of your film opening title sequence production. Film production is rarely a smooth process and inevitably you will encounter difficulties. The challenge for you as film producers is ensuring that your production does not come to a halt due to unforeseen production difficulties. For this assignment you will need to provide evidence of how you manage and deal with production (and any problems that may arise) in the form of a production photo diary. Once the production process is complete you and your team will use post-production techniques to edit your film opening title sequence. In many ways, post-production is the most important part of any media production. It is the final stage of the production process that allows you to creatively shape and mould your production into an intended vision. For this assignment you must produce individual edits of your film opening title sequence. This will help you to provide evidence of knowledge and application of video post-production techniques.
  • 2. 2 Tasks Grading Criteria Mapping Task 1 Produce a comprehensive word-processed analysis of three film opening title sequences. Using subject specific terminology, you must gather moving images examples by film genre (type of film) and comment on how styles, techniques and conventions have been used to appeal to target audiences. Your examples must be from a range of film genres. You must include video examples AND still images from your chosen films to help illustrate your observations. *Your examples and analysis must be uploaded to your IG1 assignment blog and the blog post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Analysis Unit 22: P1/M1/D1 Task 2 Showing creativity and flair generate ideas for a film opening title sequence production. These ideas can be presented in the form of sketches, hand drawn and digitally produced mind maps, mood boards, images you have gathered or found *All ideas generation must be uploaded to your IG1 assignment blog and the blog post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Ideas Generation Unit 22: P2/M2/D2 Task 3 Produce content specific pre-production planning for your chosen film opening title sequence idea. This should include a broad selection of the following:  A script  Storyboards (hand drawn)  Location reconnaissance reports  Risk assessments  Evidence of regular production team meetings (these can be uploaded onto your IG1 blog in either a word-processed or audio format) *Your pre-production & planning evidence must be uploaded your IG1 blog and the blog post should be titled Film Opening Title Sequence Pre Production Unit 22: P2/M2/D2 Task 4 Using pre-production documentation produced in task 3; you must work as a team to shoot your film opening title sequence. It is expected that you will need to shoot and/or re-shoot additional footage during this process. You must also photographically document the production phase of your film opening Unit 22: P3/M3/D3

Produce a rough edit of your film opening title sequence using the rushes you have uploaded into Adobe Premiere as a group. 2. When finished, you must explain what improvements you will make for your final edit. This can be word processed or voice recorded. 3. Produce a final edit of your music video.
