The Turning Torso, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, features a unique twisting structure inspired by the human spine, incorporating seven cubes around a steel support. The residential tower offers distinctive layouts with spacious living rooms and is constructed using advanced technology, primarily steel, glass, and concrete. Located in an urban area undergoing redevelopment near the port of Malmö, the building aims to enhance the local environment with nearby leisure and shopping facilities.

2. Concept:
1 ) Design philosophy of the designer :-
This building is designed by the spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
the design philosphy is based on twisting human spine, in which
the original sculpture of Turning Torso, seven cubes are set around
a steel support to produce a spiral structure.
2) Client requirements ;-
Clients will have an apartment which has unique layouts depending on their position in the building,
The living rooms are large and open, often with views in two directions, The impression of light and
space is reinforced by the elevated ceiling in the livingrooms .

3. 3) Typology-Vernacular/Technological/Contextual :-
The Tower is not only expresses the concept of geometric characteristic, but also on technology and
advanced technology, it is constructed of steel, glass and concrete, and is structured in nine cubes
rotational structure is the main key element of reinforced concrete, and the center of the building which
correspond exactly with the axis of rotation of floors,The outer shell of the building is made of panels of
glass and aluminum. Characterized by dynamically tested in the wind room at the University of
Western Ontario in Canada. The drum major central structures that are connected by a horizontal
Kabuli contain lifts, technological systems and services.
4) Environmental concerns :-
The building is located in an urban area degraded, which will be
updated, from an industrial area Vintage, to the residential area,
