Tuesday:
State Objective- The outcome that student will get from today’s lesson is learning about a very
influential person who changed the motor vehicle industry. Students will also discover different ways
and how to use the same technology they already know but now they will understand how to use it in a
different way. They will explore common social networking and learn how it can be used in the
classroom and in a fun way. Students will have a basic understand of a learning tool that becomes a
virtual world. They will discover who was a very influential person, how to use common practices of the
computer in a different way. Students can categorize which social networking is most effective. Lastly
they will have the chance for some extra credit making another source of a poster online. In two weeks
students will be able to show by their saved materials how they used common technology in different
ways with 90% accuracy.
Select Methods Media and Material- The internet will become a source of information of finding out
information about the man who was an innovator of motor vehicles. Students will put information they
find into a poster. But not a just a regular paper poster it will be made using PowerPoint a common
technological tool that can be used in a different way. To save their site and source them they again will
create QR’s. Students will look at the teachers own class social networking site and also the site that is
like a virtual world and compare the two to find that is most effective. They will create a word document
that will incorporate the pros and cons of what they think about each network. For the extra credit they
will be given just the URL of the site that will create another poster through online. They will have till the
end of the week to finish it.
Utilize Media and Materials- In using the internet we will have lab and in class time to finish most
assignments for the day. Using the internet they will be given the name of the man who we are focused
on today, create a poster using Power Point and step by step instruction will be given. However most
will already understand how to use it some will have to be patient. The poster on Power point will be
their own they will create it however they please add any kinds of pictures, individualize it. Again like the
student had learned Monday they will save their source they used with a QR so it will be easy to go back
and reference. The teacher will already have the social network accounts created and appropriate to
today. Each student will not be creating their own account but they will discuss in groups which they
find more effective. This learning experience of common social networking sites will show them how
they can be used in education as well not just for personal use. Creating the extra credit poster has to
correlate with their PowerPoint poster for credit. It has to go off the same idea.
Require Learner Participation- The in class projects that will take place are the research about a
historical figure, the Power point posters will be presented to the class by emailing them to the teacher
through school email and I will pull them up on the projector so they can present. It gives them a chance
to see everyone’s work and see how different people could make them. The QR will be a previous skill
that they mastered yesterday and if they still need help it will be given to them. The social networking
sites will be pulled up on the class computer in front of everyone to compare the two site with pro’s and
con’s then will be making a simple word document bullet style of what they think the pros and cons are
between the two sites and which is more effective. The extra credit Poster will be completed with
whatever class time they have left and at home if they chose to do so.
Evaluate and Revise- The use of the technology that was used in today’s class will not be evaluated to a
big extent because the Poster although will be revised on the correct information found and doing the
poster correctly along with the QR, but the social networking sites are for their knowledge and
information about how social media can be used for educational purposes as well. As I assess their
posters the discussions with the group and their word document will be for their purpose only and will
participate in educational conversations about how effective the sites are.
