The document contains news and announcements from different ministry teams at a church. It also includes scripture passages and discussion questions about fulfilling the Great Commission. There are notes from a Bible study on Paul's journey to Rome. The document encourages connecting and communicating through an email list and class blog.
The document discusses the importance of seeking counsel and guidance from others rather than relying solely on one's own understanding or judgment. It provides several biblical references emphasizing that wisdom comes from listening to advice, that relying only on oneself leads to foolishness, and that victory comes through abundance of counselors. God's will is not for us to know alone but through community, and we should not be afraid to make mistakes or think we have all the answers by always interpreting guidance from others.
Knowing our identity in Christ: as co heirs, we can confidently share our lives, tell our story, His story and change our world, and who knows, we may even change THE world!
God relates to humans by becoming human in the form of Jesus Christ. As God, Jesus is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. However, to relate to humanity, Jesus had to become human and experience temptation. As a human, Jesus was tempted in all the same ways as humans - by lust of the flesh, eyes, and pride of life. But Jesus resisted all temptation without sin. Now, as our high priest, Jesus can sympathize with human weaknesses and temptation because He experienced it Himself.
1) The document summarizes a vision the author had while praying for Trump, in which he saw the late prophet Kim Clement cheering excitedly from the stands of heaven.
2) In the vision, Clement was elated that prayers were reversing the enemy's attempts to use COVID-19 to stop Trump from getting reelected, as Clement had prophesied years ago.
3) The author believes this validates that Trump will be humbled but ultimately victorious, defeating the enemies who planned the pandemic, and cementing another four years in office to further God's purposes.
1) Witnessing is commanded by God and sharing the gospel message is urgent as people's lives and souls are at stake.
2) Christians have a responsibility to verbally declare the good news of salvation and not just rely on good works alone.
3) Witnessing is an act of worship that glorifies God and shows non-believers how wonderful he is.
Finding purpose in hard times seth gatchell september 30 2018Pacific Church
This document discusses finding joy in hard times through focusing on God rather than problems, priorities, power, or pleasing oneself. It provides biblical examples of how hard times can correct, change, challenge one to be like Christ, call others, and comfort others. Paul responded to critics by rejoicing that Christ was preached, even with false motives. He knew God's power through prayer would deliver him from his chains. The ultimate focus should be pleasing God over living for oneself.
This document contains a series of Bible verses and quotes encouraging the reader to fight distractions, focus on God, and continue moving forward in faith. It advises submitting to God, resisting the devil, focusing on one's path, being sober and vigilant against Satan's attempts to distract, and pressing toward the spiritual goal despite not seeing the entire way clearly.

This document discusses God's promises and assurances, encouraging believers to ask, seek, and knock in faith. It notes that God will respond according to his will, not to mock believers but to give assurance. While humans must take action, pursuing salvation actively rather than passively, God provides what is needed both physically and spiritually. The document concludes by reminding readers that God wants people to find him and live righteously, and his providence provides the way.
Breaking points, we all have them and must learn how to handle them. In this lesson we examine Moses. Both audio and slides can be enjoyed at www.cmcoc.org Sermon by: Brian Birdow
Romans 12:1-2: The transforming of our minds is so that we can discern God’s will and choose to follow it. We’ll learn why this is a real struggle for us and the importance and blessing of whole heartedly following God’s will. Concept “borrowed” from Darrel Yontz … again.
This document provides guidance on how to successfully complete the Christian race by focusing on reaching forward with persistence, applying yourself with purpose, conquering evil with God's power, and enduring hardness with patience. It encourages the reader to become a faithful Christian by hearing and believing the gospel, repenting of sins, confessing faith, and being baptized.
This document discusses how followers of Christ can choose faith over fear. It asserts that through our relationship with God, we can face hardships with confidence in His care and provision. While fear does not align with our identity as God's children, faith and obedience to God bring blessing. The document encourages focusing on God rather than our fears, asking questions of doubt, feeding on Scripture, forging ahead courageously, and obeying God to overcome fear.
Knowledge makes people arrogant. This concept seems to be completely different from the world’s thinking. If I learn more, then I should know the breadth of knowledge. I should be like a learned person, and I should be more humble. But why the Bible said so, if this is a truth that violates the rules of the world. In this chapter, let us carefully look for the truth of the Bible for detail analysis.

Obstacles To Faith: Unanswered QuestionsSteve Klein
It's easy to allow ourselves to dwell on questions that become obstacles to faith. For example, "If God is good, how can He allow innocent people to suffer?" Or, "What if a person is on his way to be baptized, and gets killed in an accident?" Many such questions raise similar issues; they discourage us from trusting God and His wisdom. This lesson deals with one such question. Namely, "If God is just and good, how could He condemn Native American Indians who never heard the gospel?"
In this lesson we examine the teaching of 1 John 4:1 and what it means to test or prove every spirit. Both audio and slides can be enjoyed together at www.cmcoc.org
Sermon by: Brian Birdow
Joseph was engaged to Mary but faced a dilemma when she became pregnant since he was not the father. An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to marry Mary anyway, as the child was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Though difficult, Joseph obeyed God without question by taking Mary as his wife. He further demonstrated obedience through his actions, such as fleeing to Egypt with Mary and Jesus when warned in another dream. Joseph modeled faithful obedience to God through both his inward trust and outward actions.
This document discusses Philippians 4:13 and what it means to be able to do all things through Christ. It explains that with Christ's strengthening, believers can do God's will as long as the task is helpful, not forbidden, and done through faith and patience. Some things Christians cannot do include acts against God's commands or outside of His purposes. The will of God and unselfish service through Christ enable believers to accomplish great things.
The document provides guidance on how to keep endurance through faith. It suggests to 1) look out for distractions, don't leave God out by asking for his help, and never quit standing firm in faith. It also advises to not rely too much on logic since God's ways are higher than human understanding and to keep peace through prayer. The overarching message is that enduring faith requires focusing on God and his purpose despite life's challenges and distractions.
1. The document discusses the importance of spiritual disciplines like prayer and Bible reading for living happily.
2. It provides examples of how to incorporate daily prayer and Bible reading into one's routine, including focusing on God throughout the day through acknowledgment and meditation on scripture.
3. Maintaining spiritual disciplines requires commitment, like committing to daily prayer and attending weekly prayer groups. The disciplines help one stay close to God and allow God to work in their lives.
In this final message in this series on Receiving God's Guidance we share practical steps on how we walk with God so we are consistently in a place where we hear from Him and follow His leading.
The document discusses understanding temptation. It begins by stating that everyone faces temptation but not everyone understands it. It then provides information about temptation: (1) Temptation comes from Satan, not God; (2) Temptation itself is not a sin, only giving in to it is; (3) Temptation can be resisted through submitting to God and avoiding situations that may trigger it. The document also notes that temptation can be overcome through endurance, asking others for help if overcome, and God's deliverance; and that temptation tends to decrease with consistent effort over time.
Often times life knocks us down. Things happen that we never even dreamed would happen to us! How do I pick up the pieces and go forward? We will examine this from a biblical perspective and see that the child of GOD can go forward in life even after suffering!
Paul was a faithful example who was disciplined, motivated others, was optimistic yet knew the source of his power came from God. He was satisfied with what he had, persistent in teaching God's word, and ultimately happy. The document encourages emulating Paul's heart and choosing to follow Christ's truth in order to be righteous and find happiness.

The document discusses different ways Christians ought to obey God. It says we should offer praise to God by thanking him at all times. We should believe God's promises and exercise faith in his words. We ought to enjoy God's peace by looking to him rather than worrying. We also need to yield to God's purposes by surrendering our desires and shining our light for Jesus. The document concludes that in order to obey God, we must offer praise, believe his promises, enjoy his peace, and yield to his purposes.
The document discusses having a zealous and enthusiastic attitude for serving God and doing his will. It defines zeal as intense enthusiasm and explains that it can be directed towards good things, like serving God and sharing the gospel, or bad things without proper knowledge. The document encourages pursuing righteousness zeal by letting God's word teach you, denying ungodliness, living soberly and righteously, constantly looking to Jesus' return, and living transformed lives doing good works. It concludes by urging the reader to come to Jesus before it's too late and be saved by hearing, believing, repenting of sins, confessing Jesus, and being baptized.

The document discusses the call to be light and reveal God to others through our actions and words. It encourages living according to God's ways through love, good works, and unity; avoiding trouble and gossip; and sharing our faith gently through living and speaking about Jesus' healing and God's goodness.
1) We are often deceived by our own biases and flawed perceptions of reality. We deny truths we don't want to face and are rarely objective.
2) The Bible warns that the human heart is deceitful and that we can deceive ourselves into thinking we are good or righteous through our own works instead of faith in Jesus Christ.
3) Specific ways the document outlines we can deceive ourselves include thinking we are not accountable for our actions, that we are good enough on our own, or that we can save ourselves through works instead of grace. True salvation comes only through faith in Christ.
1) We are often deceived by our own biases and flawed perceptions of reality. We don't always seek the truth and may actively deny truths we don't want to face.
2) The Bible warns that the human heart is deceitful and that we can more easily deceive ourselves than be deceived by others.
3) Specific ways the document outlines we can deceive ourselves include thinking we are without sin, that we are good enough on our own, or that we can save ourselves through works instead of grace. The only way to avoid self-deception is to accept the truth of Jesus Christ.

2) The Bible warns that the heart is deceitful and we can be deceived into thinking we are without sin or good enough on our own. True fellowship with God requires acknowledging our need for forgiveness and purification.
3) Key ways we deceive ourselves include thinking we won't face consequences for our sins, that we can earn salvation through works, or that simply repeating a prayer will save us rather than having true faith that transforms our lives. True salvation comes through Christ alone.
1) We are often deceived by our own biases and perceptions rather than seeing the full truth.
2) Scripture warns that the heart is deceitful and we can deceive ourselves into thinking we are good or righteous on our own.

God said that my commands are not difficult to obey. However, we have seen the history of Israel. They were exiled all over the world because they did not obey God’s commands. So is it difficult or easy? In fact, the key lies in whether you use the world’s methods or the Kingdom of God’s methods? When you use the world's methods, the obstacle you encounter is God. He will not let you do what you want to do, because He says that if the Lord does not build the things of the world, whatever built will be uprooted. So we need to know how to obey God’s commands and use God’s methods, but He requires us to become His children. But before we can become children, we must obey His commands. So, which comes first, the chicken or the egg? This dilemma is that before God requires others to be disciples, you must be a disciple before you can lead others to obey God's commands. A332

The document discusses the concept of "the unknown" from a biblical perspective over five sections:
1. The Unknown Development - discusses how a person is spiritually "dead" before salvation but called to consider themselves "dead" after salvation.
2. The Unknown Director - emphasizes that one must choose to serve God rather than sin.
3. The Unknown Deceiver - warns about being deceived by sin and corrupted by evil influences.
4. The Unknown Disappointment - notes that not all who strive will receive rewards and success is not guaranteed in spiritual life.
5. The Unknown Declaration - stresses the importance of self-examination to avoid being "reprobate" and facing rejection from

This document examines how Christians should live their lives and be examples to others. It encourages self-examination and helping one another grow stronger in faith. Christians are called to be like salt and light in influencing others positively and reflecting Christ. The document provides numerous biblical references to support living a holy life devoted to serving God, prioritizing one's faith, proclaiming the gospel boldly, and remaining faithful until the end.
1) The document outlines a Bible study on Romans 1:1-17 about the Gospel being the power of God for salvation.
2) Key points about the Gospel are that it was promised by God through prophets, is about Jesus who is the Son of God and resurrected, and brings salvation through faith for all.
3) Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel and felt obligated to preach it eagerly to both Jews and Gentiles. Believers should have the same attitude toward sharing the Gospel.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
