TeachersFirst - an Edutech Presentation at TEDx Lagos by Chinenye Mba-UzoukwuChinenye Mba-Uzoukwu
Putting the teachers first is critical to transforming education especially in the Digital Age. The world-over, countries like Nigeria struggling with broken public education systems and a huge deficit in education infrastructure - human and physical. Generations are slipping, falling through the yawning chasms in our countries and we must "act with the urgency of now" to save our Tomorrow. This action must be massive and decisive in scale. I argue that at a minimum this should focus on a country-scale deployment of education technology to close the this gap but must also make a similar massive effort in retooling and re-orienting the teachers for blended learning, classroom and school management in reconfigured, minimalized, entry-level technology enabled learning environments.

This document proposes a campaign for Catholics in Kenya to collectively invest in poultry farming. It suggests that if one million Catholics each reared just one additional hen, the proceeds of about 300 million Kenyan shillings could be pooled into a collective investment (unit trust) fund. The fund would be managed by various Catholic organizations and used to support poultry farming and alleviating malnutrition in Kenya. Current poultry numbers and potential earnings are cited to argue this is a feasible plan that could benefit individuals and communities.
This document proposes establishing a SACCO called Bridging SACCO to promote savings and investment in Kenya. It aims to increase financial inclusion and help Kenya achieve its vision of high savings and investment. The SACCO would provide loans to members' groups to invest in livestock like dairy cows. 9. OUR STRATEGY
The CREDO
Go to the people
Live among them
Learn from them
Plan with them
Work with them
Start with what they know
Build on what they have
Teach by showing
Learn by doing
Not a showcase but a pattern
Not odds and ends but a system
Not piecemeal but an integrated approach
Not to conform but to transform
Not relief but release
