taken care of. Every young person who gets introduced to the virtues of Clean & Clear adopts it for eternity as a safeguard from all kinds of skin
problems that come with teenage and adulthood.Where Clean & Clear departs from every other brand in the market is its integrity, inclusiveness and
its ability to understand the psyche of its user. It deeply connects with the people, understands their needs while remaining true to its value system.
Clean & Clear doesn’t undermine anyone, it doesn’t leave anyone out, it doesn’t make impossible promises, it is truthful and hence the perfect lifelong
friend.This is the core message of the film and through the unique treatment we have chosen for our film, the core message gets further highlighted.
Our wonderful film adopts a rather clever narrative device to tell a story that is fun and humorous but conveys the core message of a teenager’s trust
and lifelong relationship with Clean & Clear with great impact.The use of a lie detector gives the film a fun Nancy Drew kind of a feel; a feel that
would appeal to the teenage audiences while also bringing a sense of credibility to the film.With the combination of a celebrity and a lie detector that
leaves no room for fabrications and fables, there is a great amount of believability that the film would be able to evoke in our audiences. This
amalgamation of conceptual realism and surrealist treatment would bring novelty to the film while staying true to its core message.

3. STORY FLOW
The legend reads – “Clean & Clear presents ‘Rejina reveals all’.The film in set in a sleek white space that is somewhat surrealistic but reminds one
of a clean version of an interrogation room.With a table and a chair in the centre, there is a low hanging pendant lamp that creates visual drama.
On one side stands a one-sided mirror to create a sense of suspense, intensity and a nagging feeling of being watched.
Rejina sits on the chair in front of a table with a lie detector placed on it. It monitors her heartbeats and catches her when she in the middle of a
lie. It is an interesting looking device that is quite evidently a blend of inventiveness and realism.
Four teenage girls stand across the table and watch her every move; her fiddling fingers, her twitches, her facial expressions, her body language,
anything that would give her away.They are perhaps the personified version of the lie detector; their gaze is keen and perceptive. Rejina is not just
threatened by the lie detector but also by the supremely observant teenage girls.

4. In order to create drama, dynamism and a sense of rising tension, the camera tracks around the table, sometimes catching the perceptive gaze of
the girls and sometimes the tensed expressions of Rejina. Intercutting from track & trolley to extreme close ups that suggest the inner workings of
either Rejina or the girls gives this film a comedic psychological edge, like one would see in aTarantino or a Sergio Leone film.
In order to add some humorous drama, we can perhaps open the film with the eyes of the girls staring into the eyes of Rejina who stares back
into their eyes with a sense of defiance; yes she is nervous about the lie detector test she is about to take but she is not going to let it show.The
opening gives one the feeling of a calm before the storm; perhaps akin to the stillness and the quiet before a gun duel between Clint Eastwood
and the villains.
While the dialogues are great the way they are, we can attempt a more interrogative version of the same.
The camera reveals the face of one of the girls as she says,“You are surrounded by hot actors.Which one have you flirted with?”

5. Rejina moves in her seat, breaks the eye contact for the first time, clears her throat and says, “Never. None. Ever. I’m very professional that way.”
But before, she can even complete the sentence, the red buzzer goes off. She is nervous. She looks at the girls smirking at her and quickly changes
her answer.“ Fine I have. But I am not proud you know.”The red buzzer goes off again. Looking down, truly embarrassed, Rejina quickly adds,“Okay
I am proud of it too.” For the first time the green buzzer goes off. Rejina is somewhat impressed even though she has taken a beating. She says,
“This thing really works haan!”
Suddenly one of the girls slaps both her hands down on the table and in a threatening position asks,“So what were you like in high school?”
Rejina tries to regain her composure.This time she adopts a different method. She looks deep into the eyes of the girl and says,“I was cool, rebel,
punk, rockstar!”We cut to the needle going berserk on the paper that is being printed. Just the sound of that printing is enough to make someone
feel jittery. And the red buzzer goes off again. Rejina looks away and changes her answer to a mumbling “Just the girl next door.” The machine
recognizes the verity of her answer and the green buzzer goes off this time.

6. Now it is the fourth girl’s turn to ask her question. She walks up to Rejina trying to intimidate her with her aggression, rolls up her sleeves and says,
“Hmmm. Here’s a tough one for you. So many new good looking actresses everyday. Does that not worry you?”
This time something seems to have changed. Rejina’s body language is different. She smiles. She looks into the girl’s eyes with amazing confidence
and says,“No. Not even a little bit.” Just as the teenage girl is about to break into a laugh to ridicule her answer, she is shocked by the green buzzer
that goes off. Her demeanour changes suddenly. From shock to utter curiosity she asks,“But how?”
Rejina is casual now. Her confidence has shot through the roof. She asserts, “Because I’m really confident of how I look. It’s because I have only
used a face wash that’s gentle on my skin, ever since my teens.” The green buzzer goes off again. With that positive reinforcement, she is
unbeatable.With a great flourish, she pulls out a Clean & Clear bottle from her pocket and slams it on the table.

7. The four girls are almost thrown back by the quake her action causes.They look at each other unable to decide what to say or do. One of the girls
clears her throat and lets out a forced laugh. She says, “Since your teens huh?!” Rejina is not going to be intimidated anymore. She raises her
eyebrows and says,“Yes…my teens!”The green buzzer verifies her words.The girls soften.They stare at the bottle on the table. Rejina loosens up
too. She tells them casually this time,“See. It’s true. My Clean & Clear is gentle and it suits my skin just fine.” And once again, the green buzzer goes
off. She pushes forward the Clean & Clear bottle closer to the girls and into the camera.
In the comeback, we see that Rejina is still in the same space but on the phone this time. She says, “Yes I read your script. Loved it!” and in the
background the red buzzer goes off manically. Clean & Clear logo.

8. CHARACTER & MOOD
Our film is one of those unique films that combines
elements of realism and surrealism to create something
that is novel, fun, humorous and truly distinct. While
Rejina plays herself in the broader sense of the word, the
infusion of hyperbolic elements makes her a rather
dramatic character, quite divorced from her real self.This
script is an interesting blend of credibility that comes
through her presence & her profession and an element
of fun and humour that comes through the dramatic
nature of the treatment, the set up and most significantly
the performances.
The characters that truly enhance the space, the mood
and the surrealistic aspect of the film are the four girls.
While they represent the audience, they bring humour
to the story through the performances clearly inspired
from spaghetti westerns, cowboys and film cops.There is
a dose of tension that is built through the gaze locking,
the perceptive eyes, the careful movements, the
relentless yet deceptive aggression that reminds one of
Sergio Leone’s films. On the other hand, there is also
enough of the contemporary cop films with good cop
bad cop methodology and the changing dynamics
between the perpetrators and the victim with the
ultimate aim of getting the answers they are looking for.
All they want is the truth, is for Rejina to submit.
Ultimately however, Rejina gains the upper hand thanks
to the ace card that she has in Clean & Clear.

11. SPACE, LOOK & FEEL
This is one of those interesting films where the space
becomes as much a character as the characters
themselves. The space is sleek, white and somewhat
surrealistic but it is also intimidating, imposing and
intrusive. At least till a point it is. Once Rejina breaks the
shackles of intimidation, the space becomes friendlier and
seemingly free from the relentlessly investigative eye.
Rejina’s sense of victory reflects in the space around her.
The look and feel of a film has the ability to express the
emotion of an individual in a visual language – it takes the
emotion and infuses it in the world around.The space in
this film would be an extension of our interesting
character.The interrogation room is a visual projection of
our character’s mood. The space in which Rejina finds
herself seems like an intimidating space when she is
averse to it. But the moment she gains an upper hand
over the girls, the space opens up too. It becomes airier,
brighter and less dramatic.
In order to add dynamism to this wonderful film, we
would do interesting things with the camera and the
lighting. The lighting can progress from being high
contrast invoking a sense of tension to being good-
contrast with a happy and bright vibe to it. The initial
portion of the film can have the Godfather Brando
lighting with the top pendant light shining down upon
our character to hide the lower part of her face in a soft
shadow. As the film progresses, the shadow vanishes
with more fill light shone from different directions.
The camera is yet another interesting character that
would add immensely to the film. A round trolley
motion would add a sense of tension and suspense to
this interesting comic-drama.Together with it, swish pans,
zoom ins and extreme close ups to catch every changing
expression on the faces of the characters would make
this film truly distinct in style; a tribute perhaps to the
Western masters.

The music would quietly enhance both the genre and the mood of the film. While this film has a unique treatment; a mélange of
humour, surrealism and realism, one must also keep in mind that it is after all a beauty film. Recognizing this delicate balance that the
music needs to strike, we would create a piece of music that is dramatic and yet soothing.The rhythmic punches to enhance the close
up gazes from one party to the other, the strings to enhance the rising action conveyed through the tracks and the trolleys, the chords
to build the pace and drama would set up the film beautifully.As the film transforms into a more conciliatory space, the rhythm would
mellow down and the strings and the chords would intertwine to give a more soothing feeling that quietly stays in the backdrop and
enhances the new feel of the film.The transformed music reaches its crescendo with the Clean & Clear bottle at the end.

With a bold treatment that can enhance the fun and the humour aspects of the script we can create a unique space that blends realism and surrealism

an underlying comic feel.Through camera and lighting we can add drama and dynamism to the film and enhance the inherent tension of the story.
The most interesting aspect of this film is the interactions not just between the characters but also between the characters and the space around.The
space almost feels like a psychological scape of the characters which also gives us the opportunity to be inventive, imaginative and free ourselves from the
oppressive laws of naturalism. When there is such an intimate dynamic between the characters and the space around, it is needless to say that
performances would place this film on a high pedestal. Performances, inspired from cop and Western films would bring comic drama and an interesting
mood to the film rarely seen on television.This film truly has the ability to etch itself in the minds of the audiences for a long time to come. It has the
