2. “Here’s to her.The purest tribute from mother nature.”This film is an ode to every woman. It is a celebration of everything women have been able to
accomplish at home and outside despite battles, struggles and all kinds of opposition. It is a celebration of that woman who has soared high and yet
kept her feet grounded. She has taken hardships head on and never winced. Her feet have marched on with tenacity irrespective of the terrain. Every
evening she has welcomed you home with a resplendent face, a warm smile and an open embrace. Her sense of detailed choreography ensures a life
that is rich and vibrant for those around her. She unravels complications, she finds order in chaos, her hands carefully mould your future and she adds
value and meaning to life. This film is a tribute to that woman – a woman who is most seamlessly a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister but most of all, a
guardian who always puts the interests of others ahead of her own. For once, she deserves to be treated like a princess, not with riches and treasures
but with love, affection and above all respect. She is in true sense ‘Amira’.
Our film is a collection of wonderful little moments that capture the essence of being a woman. The spirit of being that woman who always looks out
for you, who always has the right answers, whose arms are open at all times for you, whose ears forever seek your voice, who counsels you in the right
direction no matter how difficult that path may seem and who always knows that success comes from strength. It is this strength, this tender care and
this upright moral centre that we need to bring out through this wonderful film that is a homage to every woman – mother, daughter, sister, wife and
friend.

though they aren’t to create a sense of unity.
“Here’s to her, the purest tribute from Mother Nature.”
SEQUENCE 17 – WOMEN RELISHING AMIRA
21. CAST & CHARACTER
(‘AMIRA’ – THE PRINCESS, THE
WOMAN)
The women are the hero of the film. Their presence
makes this film interesting, charming, endearing,
compelling and inspiring to watch.
In order to capture the spirit of a woman, we will cast a
few women who are quite different from each other.
Women between 25 and 40, big and small in frame,
outgoing and introverted. While some are dressed in
fashionable attire, some are more conservative and plain.
We will have both working women and those who are
homemakers. We will cast women of different races and
skin colours to capture the cosmopolitan nature of the
world. Some exude overt confidence and style while
others are demure and quietly assured of themselves.
These women go about their business quietly but along
the way evoke strong emotions in the audiences and
immediately become both identifiable and likeable.
They remind us of the women in our lives who are
much the same. These moments in which we find these
charming women range from simple household tasks to
more profound and poignant moments that enhance the
overall emotional appeal of the film.
Then there are other characters too – the ones who are
at the receiving end of these women’s love and care. The
fathers, the grandfathers, the friends, the children, the
siblings – all of those people in the family who cannot
function without these women’s aid and whose lives
would be incomplete without their love. It is not their
adroitness they seek, it is their affection and attention
they need.Their reassurance that they are walking on the
right path. They need their shoulders to cry on and their
laughs to make them feel bright and cheerful again. Once
again these men and children will cover the entire range
in appearance, age and attitude. While some are
expressive, some are subdued and introverted. While
some have a natural flair about them, some are more
reticent. While some are fashionable, others are more
conforming. While some are grandfathers, some are still
toddlers. Irrespective of their age, they all need that hand
to hold while they march ahead in life.
35. LOOK & FEEL
This beautiful uplifting film pays homage to all those
women out there who have spent every moment of
their lives thinking about those around them, praying for
their health and wishing their dreams would come true.
A film with content so profound and rich needs to be
told with the most flourishing strokes. The look and the
feel of the film gives us the opportunity to infuse the
moods and the emotions of our characters into the
world around them. Her happiness, her joy, her
disappointments and dejections, her hopes and moments
of peace and tranquility get projected in the space
around her. The world around her becomes a visual
manifestation of her psyche, thereby becoming an
extension of her.
We would set the film inside various different houses
where these different women go about their tasks and
duties with smiles on their faces. All of these houses are
aspirational, urban middle class to upper middle class,
brightly lit and beautifully art directed.
We will have a few different genres of houses that
represent the different parts of the world, those of west
and those of South East Asia. Most of these houses will
be in white and pastel shades with light coloured
furniture, modern standing lamps, geometric patterned
sheets and fabrics with a sprinkling of bright colours for a
visual break. During the day, beautiful golden sunlight
streams in through the windows filtered by the net and
embroidered curtains enveloping the space in its
ultimate glory.
Since the sun is more angular in the European skies, we
can exploit that natural tendency of the light to slant into
the house and lend it a beautiful contrast that will make
the frames look multi-dimensional and dynamic.
In the night on the other hand, the light is warm from
the overhead room light. The lamps in the corners lend a
beautiful highlight to the contours of the characters
while the moonlight seeping in lends a nice cool tone to
the room and fills up the dark spaces. The light and
shadow play lends depth and dynamism to the setting.

42. FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY
Another crucial aspect of the film is the food shots
at the end. The rice, cooked in its different forms,
would look absolutely stunning and mouthwatering.
With the camera looking down at it, the rice would
be lit in good contrast lighting so that the white of
the rice looks clean and doesn’t bleach in the light.
Good contrast lighting would ensure that each grain
retains its dimension and shape and the hot steam
oozing out looks absolutely gorgeous and dramatic.
The food shots would be beautifully art directed –
we will have different rice dishes from different
parts of the world to capture the nature of rice that
seamlessly adapts itself to every culture and region.
Shallow focus photography would ensure that the
rice remains the hero while everything else on the
table compliments it and adds colour and depth to
the frames.
43. Lighting & camera angles that would make
the rice look pure, delectable & mouth-
watering
44. MUSIC
This proud path-breaking film is a celebration of all women. Just as
the visual treatment of the film looks to create a world that is an
extension of these women’s psyches, the music aims to enhance the
emotional gravity of that space. Because we have a range of
situations in the film, we have the opportunity to create music that
is diverse, versatile and dramatic. While thematically it remains the
same, it has the opportunity to be dynamic and complex like a
symphony.
The music kicks in when the VO begins paying tribute to these
magnificent women. The music is soft and minimal, perhaps a single
string or a chord that sets the tone for the rest of the film. Slowly
the percussion interweaves into the strings and adds drama to the
film. Here the beats rise and surge as they entwine with the peppy
strings and chords as per the dramatic significance of the moment.
The music would quietly enhance the mood of the film while
mostly remaining in the backdrop without attracting much attention
to itself.Varied instruments come together in harmony and create a
mood that is both soothing and peppy as per the need of the
moment. The music reaches its crescendo with the shots of the rice
and retains its minimal nature at the end with the final tribute
words.
45. It would be my absolute honour to be associated with a film that pays tribute to mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and friends who are always there
to look after you and take care of you. This is the kind of a film that makes you feel both proud and emotional and gives you the opportunity to
thank all those wonderful women in your own lives that have made the world a better place for you. This film would give me the chance to express
my gratitude to the women in my life and thereby allow me to make the film more evocative and profound. By infusing my own experiences of
these women in my life and moments I have been personally a part of, I can bring a layer of profound sentimentality to the film that would touch
hearts and make the film immensely universal. This film is sure to speak to every single person on the planet just as it speaks to you and me.
I will draw great performances from these characters so they transform into the real people that live and breathe around us. Giving them little habits
and traits would add a layer of credibility and make these characters both universal and specific at once. It will be a combination of great casting,
performances, visual treatment and music that will etch this film in the minds of the audiences for a long time to come. I look forward to working
with you on this wonderful inspiring film.
Thank you!
47. We begin the film with a small montage with quick shots – A little boy calls out to his mother when he is unable to put his shoe on because he is
trying it on the wrong foot. A husband calls out to his wife when cooking begins to go haywire. A teenage boy with a bat in his hand calls out to his
sister when he has no one else to bowl to him. And a grandfather calls out to his granddaughter when he needs to find his perpetually missing

59. We end with beautiful shots of cooked rice being consumed by those same women with great relish. We can create a seamless transition between
different tables where these women sit and eat almost to make it seam as if are sitting at the same table even though they aren’t to create a sense

“Here’s to her, the purest tribute from Mother Nature.”
SEQUENCE 13 – WOMEN RELISHING AMIRA
61. CAST & CHARACTER
Much like the global film, the women cast in the film will
be endearing and likeable but also inspiring to watch. We
will cast women who are quite distinct from each other
to cover the entire range. Urban women, big and small,
short and tall, from South and from North, from East and
from West with habits and traits that can easily trace
them back to their roots and backgrounds without of
course making it look stereotypical. While some women
will be dressed in Western and modern clothes, we will
have some who are dressed in ethnic costumes like a sari
or a kurta. Then there will be those who will endorse a
more fusion contemporary style.
Once again we will capture these women while they are
going about their business quietly and unassumingly. They
have a relaxed air about them and the moment you look
at them, you get a feeling of calm and tranquility. They are
not just quietly assured but also instill confidence in those
around them through their positive attitude.
Much like the global film, there are those characters that
are at the receiving end of these women’s love and care
– the children, husbands, parents and siblings who bask in
the warmth of their endless care and affection.
Once again, the men and the children will cover the
entire range. There are those dressed in kurtas and
those dressed in more fashionable attire. These are
people from different regions of India and both their
clothing and appearance give a sense of their roots and
backgrounds. Irrespective of who they are or where they
are from, they are loving people who appreciate all that
the women do for them and try to reciprocate with the
same amount of love and respect.
62. She stands shoulder to
shoulder with her
partner. She is the bread
earner. She is the home
maker.
71. LOOK & FEEL
Our characters come from different regions and we will
see this difference in the décor of their houses. There are
distinct elements that separate one from the other, some
are more modern and western, some traditional Indian
and some a mélange of the two. Traditional elements
such as banana leaves, ‘torans’, swings, sofa sets with
decorative tiles and carvings, diya lamps, fabric with ethnic
motifs amid the modernity make these houses an
extension of today’s India.
We will have a separate tone for the houses from
different regions to bring out the diversity of Indian
cultures. The houses in the South will have bright and
loud colours. Banana leaves and diya lamps will be
interspersed through the space to bring a sense of unity
to the house draped in different colours.
The houses in east will be more colonial in nature. Old
dark teak furniture with beautiful carving will dominate
the space. Bright paintings, both old and modern along
side books and photo frames will adorn the walls giving
the space a more ancient yet enlightened feel.
The Mumbai and Delhi houses will be a wonderful
combination of traditional and modern. Pastel walls,
earthy fabrics and furnishings with interesting motifs that
combine Indian and Western into the same thread,
lamps that are more modern than ethnic will adorn the
corners and beautiful net curtains that filter the sunlight
will provide gorgeous patterns to the surroundings.
All of these houses are bright and beautiful. The glorious
golden sunlight seeps in through the textured curtains
draped over the windows lending the space a dramatic
light and shadow play. The corner and pendant lamps
create a dynamic warmth that plays with the sunlight
streaming in.
73. Some old fashioned houses with large verandas with swings, patterned tiles, pillars, spiral staircases,
antique wooden furniture and intricately carved doors & windows
VERANDAS &
PORCHES
74. FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY
While the basics of the food photography will
remain more or less the same as in the global film,
the difference will be in the art direction. The rice
shots of India will cover the rice dishes eaten in
different parts of India; the various rice dishes of the
South juxtaposed with those from the North and
the East, each distinctly different from the other.
As we transition seamlessly from one table to the
other where these women sit and eat their
delicious rice, we see the changing nature and
colour of the dishes. With green peas, coriander,
chutneys and sambhars lending rich colours to the
rice dishes, our frames will look absolutely stunning.
We will see other dishes out of focus on the table
lend richness and variety to the visuals.
75. Lighting & camera angles that would make the
rice look pure, delectable & mouth-watering
76. MUSIC
While the emotion, intensity and the soothing nature of the music would
remain much in the same vein as in the global film, we can add some Indian
instruments and a classical Indian nature to the otherwise contemporary
modern music with western rhythm and tempo. This mélange will lend the
music a more personal and relatable touch. Modern India is a beautiful
amalgamation of Indian traditional values and Western culture thanks to
globalization and just as that reflects in everything else, it is only natural that it
reflect in the music as well. This coming together of two worlds will make the
film evocative, visceral and absolutely unforgettable.
