This document discusses transport and social sustainability. It outlines that sustainable development involves economic, environmental, and social issues. Six key elements of social sustainability are identified: meeting diverse needs, promoting well-being, social cohesion and inclusion, equal opportunities, good governance, and engaging creativity. Transport is recognized as a means to access opportunities and overcome disadvantages. Methods of transport appraisal are also discussed, including integrating social issues and refreshing the NATA (National Transport Appraisal) method.
