How to Make Wise Post-Production Changes to Oracle Clinical/Remote Data Captu...Perficient, Inc.
It is not uncommon to make changes to a study after subjects have enrolled. If you use Oracle Clinical/Remote Data Capture (OC/RDC) to manage your clinical data, then you know that making those changes can be quite easy. However, even the simplest change could result in unforeseen consequences with the potential to undermine your study. That’s why it’s critical to perform a thorough risk analysis before making any changes.
In this webinar, Perficient’s Tammy Dutkin, director of clinical data management and EDC, discussed the process of evaluating and executing post-production changes in OC/RDC.
Testing the Data Warehouse―Big Data, Big ProblemsTechWell
Data warehouses have become a popular mechanism for collecting, organizing, and making information readily available for strategic decision making. The ability to review historical trends and monitor near real-time operational data has become a key competitive advantage for many organizations. Yet the methods for assuring the quality of these valuable assets are quite different from those of transactional systems. Ensuring that the appropriate testing is performed is a major challenge for many enterprises. Geoff Horne has led a number of data warehouse testing projects in both the telecommunications and ERP sectors. Join Geoff as he shares his approaches and experiences, focusing on the key “uniques” of data warehouse testing including methods for assuring data completeness, monitoring data transformations, and measuring quality. He also explores the opportunities for test automation as part of the data warehouse process, describing how it can be harnessed to streamline and minimize overhead.

Data Warehouse Testing: It’s All about the PlanningTechWell
Today’s data warehouses are complex and contain heterogeneous data from many different sources. Testing these warehouses is complex, requiring exceptional human and technical resources. So how do you achieve the desired testing success? Geoff Horne believes that it is through test planning that includes technical artifacts such as data models, business rules, data mapping documents, and data warehouse loading design logic. Wayne shares planning checklists, a test plan outline, concepts for data profiling, and methods for data verification. He demonstrates how to effectively create a test strategy to discover empty fields, missing records, truncated data, duplicate records, and incorrectly applied business rules—all of which can dramatically impact the usefulness of the data warehouse. Learn common pitfalls, which can cost your business hundreds of thousands of dollars or more, when test planning shortcuts are taken. If you work in an environment that often performs data warehouse testing without proper planning and technical skills, this session is for you.
Data Warehousing in Pharma: How to Find Bad Data while Meeting Regulatory Req...RTTS
In the U.S., pharmaceutical firms must meet electronic record-keeping regulations set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The regulation is Title 21 CFR Part 11, commonly known as Part 11.
Part 11 requires regulated firms to implement controls for software and systems involved in processing many forms of data as part of business operations and product development.
Enterprise data warehouses are used by the pharmaceutical and medical device industries for storing data covered by Part 11. QuerySurge, the only test tool designed specifically for automating the testing of data warehouses and the ETL process, is the market leader in testing data warehouses used by Part 11-governed companies.

Agile Capitalization For Greater Business ValueCA Technologies
With disruptive technology advances, software assets play an increasingly important role in creating a competitive advantage. It’s time for organizations to recognize and manage business software as a strategic corporate asset.
To keep up with the speed of business, companies turn to agile practices to deliver better customer value faster.
Challenge: agile software development is too often misunderstood and misreported, impacting taxation, higher volatility in Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, and dramatic, unnecessary staff cuts in an economy where talent retention is paramount to foster innovation.
To avoid those negative implications, companies can evolve their financial reporting practices to leverage the financial advantage of agile so they can benefit from the significantly increased tax savings and investor interest associated with agile capitalization.
This session will unravel the benefits of agile capitalization and explain how to appropriately interpret and apply generally accepted accounting standard (GAAP SOP 98-1 and ASC 350-40) so your organization can increase its agile adoption to deliver more business value faster to customers.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images
