FLAG TAG GAME
The flag is a traditional game for kids.
It is played in two teams with the same number of players, plus an additional person, the
flagholder and each player has got a number. The flag holder stands up in the middle of
two rows of players and hold , with the hand, the flag with arm stretch forward.
At this point the flagholder can call any number . The players with the number called must
run towards the flag and try to grap it firstly. There are two ways to win the run and get
the point: to grap the flag for first or, ones your opponent got the flag, tounching him
before he returns to the start position. The team that get more points win the game.

RULES
The Bees game is played by 5 players and up. To play the game, two children make a
bridge with their hands and the rest of the children go under it. The children who make
the bridge choose two words, one for each.
Then they sing a song: "The bee passes, passes by with her little bees and with her
little kids. " The child lying under the bridge when the song ends is caught by the children
who make the bridge.
Then they say the two words they chose and the child must choose one of the two.
Whichever word of both you choose go with the child who chose that word. So it is done
with the rest. The two children give their hands and each team pulls the other trying to
throw the other down (tug).

Game area: circle, marked with lines
How to play: players make a circle, the game leader goes into the middle of the circle.
The game leader holds a string and turns it (at the end of the string has to be fastened
some piece of a heavier subject, for example, a little bag with some sand). The game
players have to jump and avoid from the string. When the string hits the player, he/she
has to get out from the game. The winner is the last player.
SZIVÁRVÁNY ÓVODA – HUNGARY
SQUIRRELS, OUT OF THE HOUSE!
Equipment: hoops – the number of hoops is one less than number of players.
We can play this game on the playground or in the gym.
Preparations:
The houses are the hoops, you put down them on the floor, at the equal distance from
each other.
The every children stand in the middle of the hoops except one child – who is the
homeless squirrel and the caller.
Games:
The caller, she/he stands in the middle and she/he shoots:
“SQUIRRELS OUT OF THE HOUSE!”
All players, of course the “homeless” squirrel too, run out of the “house” and run about,
when the teacher claps 3 times, everybody try to occupy a new “house”. So another
child will be the homeless squirrel – the callers will be different players in each round.
You have to keep 2 rules:
- Children are not allowed to push each other out of the “house”!
- If the 2 children arrive at the “house” at the same time, the one whose foot was in
earlier touch the hoop, can have the “house”.
If the class has large number of children, we can play it with 2 or 3 homeless
squirrels.
You can create more difficult rules for the children – e.g.: two children have to occupy
1 house!

GAME “EL PALLET”, OR “LA XARRANCA”
EQUIPMENT:
A stone, chalk. We can play this game on the playground, park or gym.
PREPARATIONS:
Draw with chalk on the floor or mark with a stick
the ground with different cells. Every cell has a
number. There are two double cells.
GAME:
All the children line up in front of the pallet. The
first one throws the stone to cell number one, if the stone falls out of the number one
cell, the player looses his/her turn and he/she goes at the end of the line.
In order, We hop forwards all the cells and back.
We have to jump over the cell with the stone. When we hop back, we have to pick up the
stone till the started line.
When there is double cell, we have to jump with open legs.
Every round we have to throw the stone to the different numbers.
Enjoy the game and watch out your balance!

What's the time Mr Wolf?
A traditional game from the UK.
One child is chosen to be Mr Wolf, who then stands at one end of the
playing area.
The other players stand in a line at the other end.
Mr Wolf turns his back to commence play.
The players call out, "What's the time Mr Wolf?" and Mr Wolf turns
and answers with a time (i.e. 3 o'clock).
He then turns his back again while the children advance again chanting
"What's the time Mr Wolf?" To which Mr Wolf will continue to respond
until the players come very close.
Once the line of players is close to Mr Wolf, he can respond to the chant with "It's
dinner time!" at which point, he will chase the players back to the starting line with the
aim to catch one of the them, who will then become Mr Wolf for the next round of the
game.

The title of the game – „Žui Žui Malūnėlis“
Equipment: for this game you don‘t need any special equipment. Youcan use the music
player to play the song to sing along or the teacher can play the music.
Preparation: the children gather in an area, where they can move freely.
Game: Lithuanian folk have a lot of folk dances, so called games. As a
traditional game we chose a game „Žui žui malūnėlis“ (windmill). For the game you need
even number of children. Every pair stands in a circle. Boys stand in the middle circle
(backs to the centre) and the girls in front of them. They hold each other with both
hands. First of all children move their hands energetically to both sides and sing. Then the
girls turn left shoulder to their partner and run to the right around the boys standing in
the circle. They finish running to the neighbor of the boy she was standing before. Then
they repeat the actions and singing. If you wish, you can repeat the game with the girls
standing in the middle of the circle.

Traditional games rules

  • 2. ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO DI ATRI –ITALY FLAG TAG GAME The flag is a traditional game for kids. It is played in two teams with the same number of players, plus an additional person, the flagholder and each player has got a number. The flag holder stands up in the middle of two rows of players and hold , with the hand, the flag with arm stretch forward. At this point the flagholder can call any number . The players with the number called must run towards the flag and try to grap it firstly. There are two ways to win the run and get the point: to grap the flag for first or, ones your opponent got the flag, tounching him before he returns to the start position. The team that get more points win the game.

The red rose Or white jasmine? The white jasmine ! Come this way.. RULES The Bees game is played by 5 players and up. To play the game, two children make a bridge with their hands and the rest of the children go under it. The children who make the bridge choose two words, one for each. Then they sing a song: "The bee passes, passes by with her little bees and with her little kids. " The child lying under the bridge when the song ends is caught by the children who make the bridge. Then they say the two words they chose and the child must choose one of the two. Whichever word of both you choose go with the child who chose that word. So it is done with the rest. The two children give their hands and each team pulls the other trying to throw the other down (tug).
  • 4. Bikernieku Pamatskola- Latvia Fishes Players: unlimited number Game area: circle, marked with lines How to play: players make a circle, the game leader goes into the middle of the circle. The game leader holds a string and turns it (at the end of the string has to be fastened some piece of a heavier subject, for example, a little bag with some sand). The game players have to jump and avoid from the string. When the string hits the player, he/she has to get out from the game. The winner is the last player.
  • 5. SZIVÁRVÁNY ÓVODA – HUNGARY SQUIRRELS, OUT OF THE HOUSE! Equipment: hoops – the number of hoops is one less than number of players. We can play this game on the playground or in the gym. Preparations: The houses are the hoops, you put down them on the floor, at the equal distance from each other. The every children stand in the middle of the hoops except one child – who is the homeless squirrel and the caller. Games: The caller, she/he stands in the middle and she/he shoots: “SQUIRRELS OUT OF THE HOUSE!” All players, of course the “homeless” squirrel too, run out of the “house” and run about, when the teacher claps 3 times, everybody try to occupy a new “house”. So another child will be the homeless squirrel – the callers will be different players in each round. You have to keep 2 rules: - Children are not allowed to push each other out of the “house”! - If the 2 children arrive at the “house” at the same time, the one whose foot was in earlier touch the hoop, can have the “house”. If the class has large number of children, we can play it with 2 or 3 homeless squirrels. You can create more difficult rules for the children – e.g.: two children have to occupy 1 house! Enjoy the game and look after to each other!
  • 6. Escola Paisos Catalan – Spain, Catalonia GAME “EL PALLET”, OR “LA XARRANCA” EQUIPMENT: A stone, chalk. We can play this game on the playground, park or gym. PREPARATIONS: Draw with chalk on the floor or mark with a stick the ground with different cells. Every cell has a number. There are two double cells. GAME: All the children line up in front of the pallet. The first one throws the stone to cell number one, if the stone falls out of the number one cell, the player looses his/her turn and he/she goes at the end of the line. In order, We hop forwards all the cells and back. We have to jump over the cell with the stone. When we hop back, we have to pick up the stone till the started line. When there is double cell, we have to jump with open legs. Every round we have to throw the stone to the different numbers. Enjoy the game and watch out your balance!
  • 7. Emscote Infant School – United Kingdom What's the time Mr Wolf? A traditional game from the UK. One child is chosen to be Mr Wolf, who then stands at one end of the playing area. The other players stand in a line at the other end. Mr Wolf turns his back to commence play. The players call out, "What's the time Mr Wolf?" and Mr Wolf turns and answers with a time (i.e. 3 o'clock). He then turns his back again while the children advance again chanting "What's the time Mr Wolf?" To which Mr Wolf will continue to respond until the players come very close. Once the line of players is close to Mr Wolf, he can respond to the chant with "It's dinner time!" at which point, he will chase the players back to the starting line with the aim to catch one of the them, who will then become Mr Wolf for the next round of the game.
  • 8. Sakiai „Berzelio“ Mokikla – Lithunia The title of the game – „Žui Žui Malūnėlis“ Equipment: for this game you don‘t need any special equipment. Youcan use the music player to play the song to sing along or the teacher can play the music. Preparation: the children gather in an area, where they can move freely. Game: Lithuanian folk have a lot of folk dances, so called games. As a traditional game we chose a game „Žui žui malūnėlis“ (windmill). For the game you need even number of children. Every pair stands in a circle. Boys stand in the middle circle (backs to the centre) and the girls in front of them. They hold each other with both hands. First of all children move their hands energetically to both sides and sing. Then the girls turn left shoulder to their partner and run to the right around the boys standing in the circle. They finish running to the neighbor of the boy she was standing before. Then they repeat the actions and singing. If you wish, you can repeat the game with the girls standing in the middle of the circle. Lyrics of the song: Žui žui malūnėlis Šiaudų kūlio bernužėlis Šiaudiniai ratai Stikliniai čebatai
