The rubber band game was a popular game played by girls in the 1970s-1980s. It involves at least three players, two holding a stretched rubber band between their legs while the third player performs a sequence, such as hopping or rolling the rubber band. The sequence gets more difficult as the rubber band is raised to different heights. Players take turns attempting the sequence while singing a nursery rhyme with fruit names. If a mistake is made, the next player must try to complete the missed sequence before continuing their turn.

1. THE RUBBER BAND GAME
In the 70's / 80's rubber band game was among the most beloved games
by girls. Every moment of the day was good to put the elastic around
their ankles and jump.

2. What do you need to play the “rubber band game”?
 To play you need an a rubber band at least four meters long, with the edges
linked.

3. How many players?
 To play the game you need at least three players. Two of them have to hold taut
rubber band and the third plays.
Where can you play?
 You can play inside and outside. All you need is some available space that it
does not obstruct anyone and where you can make noise.

4. What are the rules?
 Two players hold the rubber band stretched between their legs while a third
player performs the predetermined sequence from the game that we’ll list.

5.  Each child chooses the name of a fruit and the first player begins to sing a
nursery rhyme. In the nursery rhyme are repeated names of fruits chosed by
children and it ends with the word coffee.
 For Ex. – In case of 5 players - 5 fruits. The song can be: apple, orange,
strawberry, lemon, tangerine, coffee.

6.  After the sequence, the game may continue repeating all the parts, but
the rubber band has to be positioned at different heights, starting from
the ankles, the knees, the thighs, the hips, the armpits and finally to the
neck. Obviously, the more rubber band is high the more difficult is to
conclude the sequences correctly.
 Once the first player has finished its
sequence, or has made a mistake, the
turn passes to the next player and the
next time he will have to repeat the
sequence that was wrong before
continuing.

7.  The game starts with a sequence of hops that the player makes
positioning itself with one foot inside the elastic and one out.
Sequence
1. 1 foot inside and one outside, until the end of the
song.

8. 2. Candy - always singing
