Traditional Andalusian architecture is characterized by small, simple homes with white walls that repel the heat. These houses typically feature an interior patio and outdoor well. In 1870, British investors arrived in Huelva, Spain and established the Riotinto Company mining operations. They introduced British colonial architectural styles and made significant developments like the wealthy English Bellavista district, the Tinto Port for exporting minerals, and the Victoria Queen District of homes for company workers. One such building was Casa Colon, originally constructed as a hotel for important company visitors and now used for exhibitions.
