(referents) of interest to tourism and their use.
• They have been selected by the WTO
Secretariat on the basis of the material
received from member States and other
organizations, both national and international.
• The purpose of the selection is to indicate the
possibility of international harmonization of the
referents.
3. Tourism signs and symbols are mainly found in:
• public places such as airports, seaports, bus
and railways stations and terminals, etc.
• roads, streets, paths, trails, ski slopes, etc.
• buildings, as well as maps, orientations
diagrams, guidebooks and tourism pamphlets,
and now more and more on Internet portals
and web sites(icons).
