Touching Spirit Bear Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Touching Spirit Bear" can present both challenges and
opportunities for the writer. On one hand, the novel, written by Ben Mikaelsen, offers a rich
tapestry of themes and characters to explore, providing a solid foundation for analysis. However,
delving into the intricacies of the narrative requires a keen understanding of the author's
intentions, character motivations, and the broader socio-cultural context depicted in the book.
One of the difficulties lies in interpreting and conveying the transformative journey of the
protagonist, Cole Matthews. The story involves themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the
connection between nature and human spirit, all of which demand careful examination and
thoughtful analysis. Capturing the essence of Cole's emotional and psychological growth
throughout the novel can be a nuanced task, as it requires a balance between empathetic
understanding and critical evaluation.
Furthermore, addressing the symbolism embedded in the titular Spirit Bear and the significance
of the Circle Justice system adds another layer of complexity to the essay. It necessitates a
thorough exploration of indigenous cultures, their values, and the broader implications of
restorative justice.
Researching scholarly perspectives, critical analyses, and cultural contexts related to the novel
becomes paramount for a comprehensive essay. Integrating these external sources while
maintaining a coherent and original voice adds to the intricacy of the writing process.
Despite the challenges, tackling a "Touching Spirit Bear" essay provides an opportunity for
personal engagement with literature and critical thinking. It allows the writer to explore themes
that resonate on a human level and reflect on the transformative power of narrative storytelling.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of "Touching Spirit Bear" requires a delicate balance
of empathy, analysis, and cultural understanding. Navigating the complexities of the novel
demands a keen awareness of the characters' journeys, the symbolism employed, and the broader
societal themes at play. However, with diligence and a thoughtful approach, one can produce an
insightful and compelling essay that does justice to the depth of the narrative.

Led Zeppelin s Influence On Rock Music
Stemmed from a humorous conversation among musicians, the name Led Zeppelin
has had a great impact on rock music. Their influence had carried on past the 1970 s,
the time of their highest peak of popularity when they had toured extensively. Almost
instantaneously they had become a hit, performing four concert tours in the US
within their very first year. As time went on, many heavy metal bands such as Deep
Purple, Black Sabbath, Queen, and Aerosmith as well as punk bands like the
Ramones had been impacted by Zeppelin and showed similar music styles in their
own work. However Robert Plant, frontman for Led Zeppelinremained ingratiatingly
humble when discussing the topic, as he described himself in the LA times, I m not
exactly a musical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This had taken quite a toll on the band s unity as Plant had begun to separate
himself and pursue new paths before returning to the band. The song All of my
Love , co written by Plant, was dedicated to Karac, (his son). On top of the death,
Plant in an interview remembered how his band had abandoned him in his time of
need. During the absolute darkest times of my life when I lost my boy and my
family was in disarray, it was Bonzo who came to me. The other guys were [from]
the South [of England] and didn t have the same type of social etiquette that we
have up here in the North that could actually bridge that uncomfortable chasm with
all the sensitivities required ... to console (Giles). What he goes on to describe
even more profound was when Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones (bassist), and Grant
had declined to make an appearance at Karac s funeral. This action had forever
hindered the relationship between Plant and his band members. However, it was
Page that had kept Plant from walking away from the band insuring that the band
was nothing without him. Plant goes on to say how, he [Jimmy Page] wanted me to
take a break until I felt ready for playing again. I realized that we are more than
business partners. We are real friends. We have enough money to live a life without
troubles, but nobody
The Talented Mr.Ripley
The Struggle of the Mind The Psychoanalytic Theory is a means of literary critique
which provides a framework for insightful character analysis. Its tenet is based on
Sigmund Freud s structural model of the psyche which identifies the id, the ego and
the superego as the three theoretical constructs in terms of whose activity and
interaction mental life is described. According to such model, the irrational,
instinctual trends of the mind are the id; the rational, realistic part of the psyche is
the ego; and its critical and moralizing function is the superego. By applying such
Freudian concepts to Tom Ripley, the protagonist in Patricia Highsmiths The Talented
Mr. Ripley, the reader is better able to understand the forces... Show more content on

His common sense tells him that, ...if he only hadn t been in such a hurry and so
greedy, if he only hadn t misjudged the relationship between Dickie and Marge so
stupidly, or had simply waited for them to separate of their own volition, then none
of this would have happened, and he could have lived with Dickie for the rest of his
life, travelled and lived and enjoyed living for the rest of his life. (Highsmith 137)
Tom s ego helps him to understand that he cannot always get what he wants
immediately and that if he had compromised and waited, he might have been
happier, and it is this realization that makes him feel isolated and alone. By the end
of the novel, Tom s ego resurfaces and he changes his attitude toward others. While
before he only thought of what he wanted, he now ...was inspired to spend hours
with [Mrs. Cartwright] in the deck chair, talking to her and listening to her talk
about her life in England and Greece... (Highsmith 267) As Tom realizes that the
evidence that has been unveiled thus far in the murders is pointing towards his
guilt, he begins to reason that his new life may come to an end and he recognizes
other people s solitude because he too feels the same way. While Tom s id and ego
are at odds with each other, his superego never fully develops for he sometimes
experiences guilt for his wrongdoings but does not accept full responsibility

ACE Case Study
ACE is short for the American Council on Education and is located in Washington
D.C. It is a higher education organization that was founded in 1918. We know what
it is now we need to see how it can help students. ACE represents University and
school Presidents from across the nation providing a unified voice. Many times
ACE has lead discussion about Pell and Federal Grants. This experience and ability
to be a unified front can help in many different ways. One certain way is the services
ACE provides.
There are two major services that ACE provides. First is the commitment to research.
This commitment has allowed ACE to be the number one voice in the higher
education community. Their commitment to research is only equaled by their
understanding of the higher education space. This understanding has allowed them to
identify portions that need change which leads us to their second major service
spotting brand new practices. Their understanding and commitment to the higher
education space not only in the US but Internationally as well is the reason why ACE
has set up a center dedicated to Research and Strategy. ... Show more content on

By the early 70 s ACE understood that there was a gap between what colleges were
preparing students for and what the needs of the businesses were. This lead to the
creation of ACE CREDIT in 1974. This recommendation service allows students to
expand their knowledge with actual on the job assignments.
Academic credits are given when students sign up for formal training that is beyond
the usual scope of college walls. Based upon ACE CREDIT recommendations
students can fast track themselves to the training they need but still receive the
normal college credits. Students can trust the ACE name and know that a business or
service that utilizes the ACE branding is indeed the correct course for students to
Training and Development
Development and Training Paper Training and development programs are introduced
to organizations to improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of employees. In
addition, development and training programs are essential for an organization to
successfully train and educate their employees. The quality and variety of the training
companies provide is key for motivation. Reasons for training range from new hire
training about your operation to introducing a new concept to a workgroup. Quality
training and development programs are essential in keeping the staff motivated about
learning new concepts and keeping the department profitable. The banking industry
has been subject to many robberies in the past couple of years. The... Show more

If the training material is boring and dry more then likely your employees are not
going to be engaged and will walk away from the training session dazed and confused.
Banking industries use many different kinds of training. The most effective training
is the training that is outsourced. This gives the employee someone else s view on the
subject compared to your supervisor who you see on a daily basis. The banking
industry has discovered that when they outsource their training programs they receive
a bigger response from the employees. The overall benefits are much higher then any
other type of training. People learn by doing, nobody learns much by listening or
reading only. So lecture training is not welcomed. The most commonly used method
for transferring information in education today is the lecture. Lecturing is all about
the presenter and not the student. The banking industry has found that when training
is presented in a form of a lecture many people seem to nod off or doodle on their
notepad instead of listening. This is a waste of time and money. Interaction is the key.
Types of interaction include employee to employee interaction, employee to
supervisor interactions, and supervisor to supervisor interaction. The more interaction
there is in the organization, the better the learning. When employees interact with
each other they are forced to use the information, moving the information into their
long term memory, and retaining it for
The Importance Of Plural Marriage
When people hear the term plural marriage , they raise an eye because it is often
seen as something immoral and unacceptable in our society. What does it mean?
Plural marriage is defined by Oxford Dictionary as the practice or custom of having
more than one wife or husband at the same time. This has been the case of a
household in the small town of Bountiful, British Columbia, where a man by the
name of Winston Blackmore lived with his 24 wives who gave birth to a total of
over 130 children. After decades of investigation and legal disputes, Blackmore was
eventually proven guilty of practicing polygamyon the July of 2017 and is set to face
up to five years in prison for the violation of section 293 of the Criminal Code:
Unlawful Solemnization of Marriage. However, the question remains: is prohibiting
plural marriage an unreasonable infringement of human rights? From my perspective,
I disagree with this statement.
Winston Blackmore defends that convicting him for believing in his faith is against
his rights as according to section 2 of the Charter: Fundamental Freedoms.
However, it is important to understand that your rights are not absolute. There are
limitations to your rights because they sometimes contradict each other. For
example, R v. Keegstra case was a clash between rights. Keegstra was allowed to
express his opinion under the section 2 of the Charter, but that resulted in violation
of someone else s rights. For cases where one s rights have to be infringed

Kashmir Issue
These claims are often reinforced with partisan interpretation of history and selective
evidence. The real attitude and concrete policies towards the dispute, however, are
often governed by perception of short term national interests as defined by dominant
political elite of the two countries the interests that apparently are irreconcilable and
non negotiable.
While each side sticks to its claims over Kashmir, the Kashmiri Muslims continue to
pay a heavy price for their defiant struggle against overwhelming odds in order to

torment of the cruel Sikh rulers. They tried to strengthened their hold on the State
with the singular aim of shattering the will of their Muslim subjects, crushing their
religious zeal. They cowed them down into accepting the slavery of the Hindu
minority.
The genesis of the Kashmir issue is that in August 1947, when partition of the sub
continent took place, Lord Mountbatten, the viceroy of undivided India, influenced
Radcliff into awarding the predominantly Muslim district of Gurdaspur, situated in
the East Punjab, to India. By this treacherous act, admitted by Lord Mountbatten
himself on nation wide British television, the cruel Viceroy not only subjected a
Muslim majority area to the cursed Hindu domination, it also sowed the seed from
which could crop up the domination of India on another predominantly Muslim State
Kashmir, because it is only through a narrow strap in the Gurdaspur district that India
was linked with Kashmir. The canker in no time cropped up into the Kashmir
Problem that has ever since proved to be a serious threat to the security of the South
Asian region.
Pakistan has made a lot of efforts to break the strangled hold of India on Kashmir,
including third party s mediations but the fate of Kashmiris is

All Human Beings Possess A Basic Understanding Of Love
All human beings possess a basic understanding of love and are able to express love
through verbalizations, emotions, gestures, or other acts of kindness; however, the
condition of the human heart is tainted by sin and so is love in terms of humanity.
Thus, human beings are unable to understand and comprehend love s truest form
which is found in the embodiment God s being. God s love is communicated to
mankind through the covenants, the wonders of creation, the personhood of Jesus
Christ, and the power of the Holy Spiritwho subsequently seals God s offer of
salvation through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, those whom God
allows Himself to be known can also know God s love through God s providential
care and sustainment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes
difficult to understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God
s love.
Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love.
Thus, God reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while
Jesus displays the attribute of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and
the Holy Spirit makes the attribute known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of
the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love itself is in triunity; hence, there
must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53). In the Godhead,
the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John 14:31) in
the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy
Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16)
gave the Son his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30;
Galatians 5:22) which is expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption
where the invisible is made visible (Conner, 1980).
Adding to the complexity of God s love is the fact that the attribute of God s love is
not easily seen in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit never truly reveals Himself to
human consciousness; hence, the

Child Labor Is Not An Effective Way For India
In today s society, as Americans we don t realize the toys and clothes we buy at the
store are all being created by children who were forced to put themselves in that
position in order for us to receive our goods. All around the world, child labor is one
of the most widely social issues affecting the younger population, specifically, in India
. For the children of India, work becomes a nightmare based on suffering and
mistreatment. While children have no choice but to be independent and forced to
work, it can be a big influence on the child s education, life, health, and
development. Where child labor is deeply rooted from tradition, the causes of
child labor are difficult and complex beliefs and views of economic, social, and
cultural matters that make it challenging for the welfare of the children to progress,
but child labor is not an effective way for India and it s people to develop and grow
as a stable country.
The influence of child labor has reached numerous problems and has become a vast
concern in several countries but more importantly in India. India becomes a
grounding place of poverty, scarce jobs, and unbearable conditions. Where poverty
turned out to be the number one factor in which child labor increased, it is also
caused by a long term effect of instability and a lack of growth stemming from
various reasons such as low income from jobs, agriculture, and social order. The
basis of child labor stems from the hardships their parents had to undergo and

Air Pollution In Madrid
One of the most important problems that Madrid is facing is the air pollution due
to emissions from the conventional vehicles and other sources. There are some
protocols that are applied in case it is reached the maximum limit of CO2 and
NOx concentration. However, that is not enough because it does not stop the
contamination. In order to solve the problem, it is needed an economic and energy
restructuration of the city. Some of the ideal characteristics for a city of the future
are going to be described as follows. The main measure would be to forbid the
entrance to the city of conventional vehicles. The structure of the city and the
means of transport would be designed according with this measure. The layout of
the new city would be radial, with the business center in the middle. In this area,
most of the buildings would be giant skyscrapers, allowing room not only for
offices but also other kinds of business such as restaurants and shopping malls. Also,
in order to improve the work life balance, these edifices could have schools allowing
the parents to spend time with their children during the workday. The jobs would
have flexible schedule allowing the workers to come in any time in the morning. With
this, as not everybody would go to work at the same time, there would be less
congestion in the entrance of the city, reducing the contamination. Surrounding the
business and the leisure area, there would be the residential neighborhoods formed by
small houses and green zones

major critics, they knew how to withhold support from coming trough to the
Democrats. They criticized every single issue that these Democrats told of the
health care system. These made it possible for them to conquer the battle and
defeat the Democrats in their quest to deliver healthcare systems. If the opposing
side becomes stronger than the proposing side, it weakens the government says on
an issue. The issue is over politicized and hence seen as of no importance and no

These would only mean that even when this bill was drafted to be passed as a law,
the Republicans would have rejected it. (Jacobs 2015) The policy process was
vague since Clinton had not considered putting the right measures of advocating
for this project. If he would come up with a more realistic pattern of undertaking
the process, then it would have been simpler to make people agree to the project
since it was an excellent program. The environment that this policy had to be taken
through was hostile. These are because the Democrats were not in standard terms
hence the delivery would have failed to have gone through. If a side does not have
a clear view on what to implement it is always correct for such a party to discuss
the way forward on what approaches they would have taken to convey to the
public. There was turmoil in the party at that time, so Clinton should never have
advocated for the advocacy of that bill at such a time. Hence he would have waited
for the political diversion to cool down to proceed with the healthcare plans.
Another thing that this leader would have done was to select another leader to
head the policy rather than his wife. This policy would have been respected more
and more people would have conquered with the bill for the well being of the
country. Lastly, Clinton was supposed to show his leadership authority by bringing
the party to one decision. Hence this was easier for him to allocate what its members
expected. (Tesler 2012)
Nt1310 Unit 3 Assignment 3 Counters
We all use counters every day. Whether it be in our watches, or even something like
our washing machines, digital counters are found in nearly anything that involves
timing (Electronics Hub, 2015).
Counters have come a very long way over the years, increasing in both efficiency
and complexity. One example of an early counter is the counter developed by Paul
Stillman in 1854. This design had a small manual crank which would turn a dial by
one digit each time it was cranked. Once the first dial had turned by ten digits, it
would then turn the next dial by one digit (in a gradual motion). In 1920, the Veeder
Manufacturing Company made a counter that replaced this manual crank, which
would only allow for turning the dials one digit at a time, ... Show more content on

As these flip flops have a positive edge trigger for the clock input, this means every
time the clock input goes from LOW to HIGH, it triggers the flip flop, updating the
Q output to whatever the D input is, assuming the SET and RESET inputs of the
flip flop are both inactive, which they are in this circuit (Digital Electronics, 2014).
At the start, the D input will be HIGH, because D is connected to the inverted Q
output (PyroElectro, 2013). However, the 555 timer has a HIGH output at the
start, but due to the fact the flip flop triggers when the clock input goes from LOW
to HIGH, the counter still starts off counting from 0, because it takes one count for
the clock to go back to LOW then to HIGH again. As the clock counts, every
second count of the previous flip flop will cause the next flip flop to change state.
Thinking back to simple binary theory, this makes sense. As a digit in binary is
double the previous one, every second time the previous digit changes state, the next
digit should change state once. As this is a four bit counter, once the fourth digit
changes state from HIGH to LOW, the counter resets, and counts from zero
Similarities Between Frankenstein And Grendel
Although all works of literature are different than one another, many of them hold
very similar meanings. Some often give across the same message and can be
compared very closely to each other. We, readers, see a great example of this in both
Grendel, by John Gardner, and Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. In these novels we see
that numerous topics are parallel to one another. The ideas of isolation, injustice, and
consideration are present in both texts. While Grendel, from an early point in the
novel, is aware that he is alone, the topic of isolation is apparent throughout the
entirety of the story. Specifically, Grendel asks, Why can t I have someone to talk
to? I said. The stars said nothing, but I pretended to ignore the rudeness. (pg.53) This
metaphorically illustrates how lonely Grendel actually is. The reality of his
lonesomeness causes him to become desperate for a friend. Similarly, Frankenstein
states, Increase of knowledge only discovered to me more clearly what a wretched
outcast I was. (Pg. 125) In the novel, Frankenstein,... Show more content on

Drunken men rushed me with battle axes. I sank to my knees, crying, Friend! Friend!
They hacked at me, yipping like dogs. I held up a body for protection. (Pg. 52)
Grendel wasn t trying to arouse a fight. He simply wanted to be friends with the
humans. However, they did not take time to understand him. They were ignorant and
continued to attack. Although both Grendel and Frankenstein are strong, powerful
creatures, they aren t completely cruel. When Felix struck Frankenstein with a stick,

Sovereignty Is A Modern Political Theory Of International
Sovereignty is a modern political theory of international relations that is supported
by a multitude of political theorists to rid the world of barbaric methods of
competition. A sovereign is a supreme political power that works best with the
existence of state lines and the geographic location of the people ruled under it to
ease the organizational constraints of having a large number of people and
territories. Contrarily, Charles Beitz heavily criticizes this idea of a sovereign
because of its lack of attention to humans as individuals and the interests they
should be free to pursue. In his eyes, state lines should not be the only limit to which
individuals should receive or have access to natural resources. He believes a

When extended to the state level, this concept of forcefully acquiring goods and

in the conflicting states. Human rights and social justice are ignored, and in these

man, solitary, poore, nasty, brutish, and short. During wartime, a state is only
concerned with the concept of winning or ensuring that the opposing side does not

are not being represented. Competition for things without laws or control creates an
environment of free will in which the stakes are continually raised higher until there
is nothing left of the state to exist; therefore, an overarching power of law such as a
sovereign must be put into effect to manifest the significance of defining what is
right versus wrong. To control the need for uneconomical wars, a sovereign is created
that will aid in the justification, preservation, and enforcement of laws. In The Thirty
Years War, for example, Johannes Burkhardt states that a decision was met after the
dominant powers concluded that the plurality of states did not necessarily represent

HTTPS cannot stop stealing personal information from the webpage s cache on the

In The Odyssey, Homer employs most of the literary and poetic devices associated
with epics: catalogs, digressions, long speeches, journeys or quests, various trials or

Homer composed The Odyssey in a meter known as dactylic hexameter, which gives
the epic its elevated style. Each line has six metrical feet. The first five feet may be

Augustus presented himself as an ordinary Roman citizen doing his duty to the

because, in addition to the other exactions, they were obliged to find slaves for the

Piet Mondrian s Influence On Society
Piet Mondrian was born March 7, 1872, in Amsterfoot, Netherlands. His father,
Headmaster of the town s Dutch Reformed elementary school, was a devout
Calvinist. Malevich s childhood was strict and based on the reformed Amsterfoot. In
1880, his family moved to Winterswijk, near the German border.
In 1892, Mondrian registered at the National Academy of Art in Amsterdam. There
he trained as a realist, concentrating on visual observation and with a strict devotion
to detail. Immediately, post university, he moved around the countryside of
Amsterdam to paint landscapes. In 1911 Mondrian saw the Cubist works of Georges
Braque and Pablo Picasso. He subsequently moved to Paris and begins working in a
manner that is inspired by the Cubists. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time he returned to working on landscapes based on the countryside. This
time, he applied his new style of straight lines and curves, with minimal color.
Eventually, he moved on to clean lines and colors without any transition, independent
from content. Once the war ended, Mondrian immediately returned to Paris.
The painting, Composition: Checkerboard, Dark Colors, made in 1919, is made up
of a rectangular canvas divided up by a grid of uniform rectangles. These shapes have
been filled in with three colors, a red, a purple, and a blue. These colors do not seem
to be the traditional, colors straight out of the tube. For example, the red is slightly
orange and the purple leans more red than blue. The colors are also placed in a
seemingly random manner and each color is equally present.
Mondrian placed these colors only according to his own intuition. It is clear that he
made some alterations in color and changes are detectable in the rectangles that are
filled with somewhat mixed or tinted variations of these colors. The equal amounts of
color make it so there are no places to focus. Instead the repeating randomness creates
a sense of static and movement within the painting.
Unlike Still Life with Gingerpot II, the prewar example, Composition: Checkerboard,
Dark Colors is not based on anything from the physical world. Instead of representing
something, Mondrian conceived an entirely original composition. He merely filled in

Symbolised heavily with the snow that has left all of Ireland at a standstill, we can
see paralysis play a part throughout the story and the characters lives. We can see
from the conversation between guests, that Gabriel s acquaintances are very much
anti Briton and anti the new generation coming through. Mr. and Mrs. Conroy begin
the story with paralysis in their relationship, they are at an emotional standstill.
Joyce repeats ideas and comments throughout the story to show his audience that
the world outside of the characters remains as stood in time as they do. He writes,

writer is asking and answering a question. It makes the reader feel as if no time had

audience question themselves, to explore their own mortality, morals and life
trajectory. This work requires you to self reflect in order to understand the path that

The Dangers Of The 4th Amendment And The Fourth
Amendment
The Fourth Amendment in the Bill of Rights ensures Americans the right to be
secure in their homes from government intrusion. Essentially, an officer cannot enter
the place of residence of an individual without probable cause or a search warrant.
However, with the advances in technology, the government is able to use GPS
technology to gain information on certain criminal prospects without probable cause.
This is considered unlawful in regards to what the Fourth Amendment stands for.
Even under the current law, it still comes to the matter of question if this type of
scrutiny was done in a public or private area. However, the Supreme Court issued a
statement that devices that contain GPS tracking capabilities are acceptable on a

The elusive patterns, of arbitrary and slavery power, the British had over their
colonist were deemed unlawful in the eyes of United State officials such as John
Adam, who expressed that the writs of assistance were the commencement between
Great Britain and America (Farrell). In response to how Great Britain governed their
country, America designed the Fourth Amendment, which specifically disallows
unreasonable searches in a person s home. However, questions began to arise in the
American Republic on what kind of warrants should be issued or what should be
considered a reasonable search. The latter is a question that many Americans continue
to ask today in response to the government s use of new technology. American history
has seen past and present controversial cases surrounding the issue of GPS tracking.
Essentially, the Fourth Amendment provides documentation that prohibits
unreasonable searches and seizures and enforces that search warrants are formulated
on probable cause, not on suspicion of law enforcement officials. Moreover, the
Fourth Amendment has been around for nearly 250 years and has served its purpose
for American Citizens, however, there are many relevant cases that suggest when the
Amendment violated the rights of an individual. Below are controversial cases that

network administrators had to figure out how to share the information they put out

HyperText Transfer Protocol. Using HTTPS, the computers agree on a code between
them, and then they scramble the messages using that code so that no one in

The next step is to obtain the IP address from the domain name. This is performed

returned from a DNS server. Interconnected computers, servers and smart phones
need to know how to translate the email addresses and domain names people use into
meaningful numerical addresses. A DNS lookup performs this function.
The two types of DNS lookups are forward DNS lookups and reverse DNS lookups.
Forward DNS is a type of DNS request in which a domain name is used to obtain its
corresponding IP address. A DNS server is said to resolve a domain name when it

The Bobo doll study found that children were more likely to imitate violent behaviour
they witnessed in a film if they perceived the behaviour would generate positive
outcomes (Bandura, Ross, Ross, 1963). Later findings across three decades of
cognitive research on the effects of learning and priming concluded thoughts are
connected by similar association, with media stimuli cognitively relating to memories
and responses to trigger violent schemata retrieval in real world situations (Berkowitz,
1984; Bushman Geen, 1990; L Rowell Huesmann Eron, 2013). Findings in two
general aggression model (GAM) studies that complement cognitive frameworks,
both monitored increases in physical arousal as potential determinants for short term
violent behavior. Again, positive correlations were found following exposure to
media violence.(Bushman Anderson, 2001; Thomas, Horton, Lippincott, Drabman,

A range of studies assert that causes of violent behavior are complex at the level of

longitudinal studies assessing levels of violence pre and post the introduction of

higher occurrence of cardiovascular disease occurring more in African American
women than women of other races, this campaign will target a majority of
individuals who are at risk. Most women at the age range of 25 to 45 are fairly
healthy which will allow me to focus on preventive methods. Few programs are

Hinge Matchmaker Research Paper
Hinge s new matchmaking app is kind of weird
( removed HTML )
The online dating world just got a little more weird and interesting. Hinge is a dating
app, one of many that are out there, but that s not what s making headlines. What s
making headlines is Hinge s new app, which is called Hinge Matchmaker.
What is Hinge Matchmaker?
Hinge Matchmaker is a separate Hinge app. It essentially allows you to match up
your friends for a date. You download the Matchmaker app, and then see which of
your friends are on Hinge. You can then match friends together, and they ll get a
message saying that you think the two of them would be good together. If one of
your friends isn t on Hinge that you think would connect with another one of your
friends, you can invite your friend to join. Hinge ... Show more content on

For some the allure of Hinge Matchmaker is twofold: you can feel like you re part of
the dating game again, and you can get into your friend s business by helping him or
her find love.
( removed HTML )
What are the downsides about this app?
The app is weird though because some friends, one would assume, don t want your
opinion or your help in finding someone to date. It can also cause some friction in
friendships. What if your friend selects someone for you and you don t like him or
her, and don t even give him or her a chance? Or what if you start dating the friend
of your friend and then you guys break up. Does that make it hard on your friend or
put a strain on your relationship? There are so many potential pitfalls with this app
that could just spell disaster for your friendship.
( removed HTML )
Is the app here to stay?
Currently, the app is in beta testing, and it s only going to be available for a little
while (at least that s the current information). It s available on iOS. We ll have to
see if it takes off or if too many people find it weird.

Thomas Mor Museum Analysis
I chose to write about the art piece by Thomas Moran after going to the Museum of
Fine Arts in Houston. While walking through the buildings I saw a mass of artwork
that ranged from gold artifacts to paintings. I have to say that it was a lot to take in
but I chose the painting by Thomas Moran called the Stranded Ship on East Hampton
Beach. I liked the paintingwith the raging water crashing on the beach with the
stranded ship in the distance. I really like the contrast of the dark waves with the
white spray on the beach and white caps on the waves. It seems to tell how
dangerous the waves can be but there is a lot of flow. The waves seem to be choppy
but big and dangerous but I can feel the sense of movement and the windblowing. It...

Both paintings were purchased by Congress to be displayed in the Washington
Capital and was purchased for $10,000 a piece4. This price was unheard of at the

landscape was awesomely beautiful instead of the thinking it as a hellish land . His
paintings make it feel real, almost as if you are there experiencing it for yourself.

Comparing Velazquez And Picasso s Paintings
Velazquez and Picasso made two similar painting s, both named las meninas. Both
of the painting s represent a princess being helped by her maids or helpers. While
Picasso s was very abstract, Velazquez s was very realistic. While Picasso s painting
focused more on the princess, Velazquez s painting focused more on the maids
/helpers.
Picasso s painting is the thought of the first paragraph. Picasso was a very abstract
artist. He almost made his painting s with stain glass. In the painting he made he
made the princess very big and beautiful. The maid stood by making her look
beautiful. I think Picasso was portraying that real beauty comes from the ones you
least expect. Although the princess was, well a princess, she could only become
beautiful with the help of her maids, if her maids weren t there then she wouldn t be
pretty. Although her maids aren t pretty that doesn t mean that true beauty comes
from the outside, and that s what I think picasso was trying to portray. ... Show more

Now Velazquez s painting is far different than Picassos. Velazquez s painting is
focused on the princess. It shows maids running around grabbing things and putting
them on the princess to get her ready for the day. It also shows Velazquez, standing
in the room looking at the chaos in front of him. There is also a dog and many maids
surrounding the dog and bowing to the princess. While the princess stands there and
has no emotion. This painting was titled las meninas. A very fitting title because the
princess does nothing while all the detail is set on the maids that are attending to the
Personal Philosocial Assessment
On a macro level it educates the individual to become competent in social skills
and communication and decreases the likelihood of behavior problems where it can
relieve the negative impact they might have within a community by being socially
positive. The pro s was that she told me about her past experience with elderly care
and I brought to her attention that those were skills she has. Strength can be noticed
if both client and social worker can talk about the pros and cons. It can be developed
into what works for them and how to plan out what they need in order to accomplish
goals. Client can then recognize how much they can handle and what they cannot,
that the issues they are tackling can be carefully organized Kirst Hull, (2016).

Project Life Cycle Is The Only Thing That Uniquely
Defined...
2.1 General The life cycle is the only thing that uniquely distinguishes projects
from non projects . If that is true, then it would be valuable to examine just what
role the so called Project life cycle plays in the conduct of project management. The
basic life cycle follows a common generic sequence: Opportunity, Design
Development, Production, Hand over, and Post Project Evaluation. A project can
be defined as the work required Taking an opportunity and converting it into an
asset. In this sense, both the opportunity And asset are singular, with the implied
use being for generating benefit rather than Consumed as a resource in normal
operational activity over a prolonged period. (Kerzner, 1995). 2.2 Construction
Project Life Cycle According to Lawrence, (2003) a project has been defined as
having a beginning and an end (the life) and the project can be divided up into
several stages. The project then is said to have a life cycle. The cycle does not
usually repeat. For a construction project, there are several standard stages for the
holistic picture and with looking at. The client is involved in all of these stages and

choice and Expertise. The diagram indicates the main phases of a construction project
and the order in which they come. The design and tender stages are included within

Water Soluble Molecules
The encapsulation of water soluble molecules has a vast number of applications in
the industry in areas such as pharmaceutical, textile, coatings, food, personal care,
household care and agricultural. Here the role of the hydrophilic molecules
microencapsulation for each area and what is being encapsulated will be briefly
explained, along with the key objectives and challenges. 2.1Pharmaceutical In the
pharmaceutical industry context, the principal water soluble actives desired to be
encapsulated are small water soluble drugs, enzymes, vaccines, peptides and DNA
[3]. The primary feature of microcapsules in the pharmaceutical industry is the drug
delivery with controlled and targeted release, leading to an increase of the drug...

2.3Textile Industry The major interest in microencapsulation for the textile
industry is the possibility of the application of functional agents to the fabric in
order to enhance the fabric properties and/or functionality [12]. The
microencapsulation technology has been well studied when it comes to the
application of durable fragrances, skin softeners [13] and thermos regulating
fabrics [14 16], nonetheless, there is a growing interest in hydrophilic molecules
encapsulation for applications in textiles such as insect repellent [17], dyes [18],
flame retardants [19] and antimicrobial agents [12, 20]. The challenges for the area
are mainly the high cost of introducing microcapsules to fabric as well as the short
shelf life of the microcapsules on the garment, specially through washing cycles
[13]. There are still much to be explored in this area as well as plenty of space for
new technologies as microencapsulation can offer a wide range of opportunities for
textiles [14]. 2.4Personal and household Care There is a growing interest in
microcapsules in the consumer goods industry, where the technology can be applied
in a large number of different products such as laundry detergents, toothpaste, body
lotions and sunscreens, for example. The objectives for this area can be vastly diverse
but mainly divided in three sectors: improvement of the functionality, formulation and
appearance [3]. When it comes
The Fate of Women in The Birthmark Essay
The Fate of Women in The Birthmark
Wilson Sullivan in Nathaniel Hawthorne in New England Men of Letters states that
Nathaniel Hawthorne s tale, The Birthmark, depicts the efforts of a deranged scientist
to obtain total perfection in his wife by removal of a facial blemish. In this story the
scientist operates on the superficial level of the physical world, while the woman,
the truly heroic woman, functions on the level of the heart and soul, the more
significant level. She it is who in her virtue provides for the reader an example to
live by, even though she loses her life in the process. This essay hopes to explore the
status, role, attitude toward women and other such issues.

The wife s virtue leads her onward and upward; the husband s lack thereof and
inability to appreciate virtue in his Georgiana leads him downward and downward.
Even after Aylmer has persuaded a beautiful woman to become his wife, he is not
capable of loving her properly, unselfishly, because he had devoted himself,
however, too unreservedly to scientific studies ever to be weaned from them by
any second passion. The narrator seeks to justify this error or lack in Aylmer by
explaining that it was not unusual for the love of science to rival the love of
woman in its depth and absorbing energy. Already at the outset of the tale, the
reader perceives that Georgiana is going to be shortchanged in this marriage. She is
exposed to the problem initially when her husband asks whether it never occurred to
you that the mark upon your cheek might be removed? Aylmer is in quest of
physical perfection in his wife; unfortunately he discounts her inner, spiritual value
so clearly manifested in her comment: ``To tell you the truth it has been so often
called a charm that I was simple enough to imagine it might be so. In using the word
simple she is being honest and not sarcastic; she is being humble and respectful of
others (parents?) evaluation of herself. The reply comes from a virtuous woman.
Hawthorne himself was preoccupied with . . .the
Discrimination For Immigrants In The US
Despite where the funds are generated to support these programs and immigrants,
the citizens of the US may see them as a threat to their way of life. Furthermore, this
will open up a whole new issue involving the employment from a discriminatory
position, which can cause problems for employers. Of course, there will be an
imbalance of pay and possibly workload for some immigrants, but there is really no
legal guidance on how employers should treat them. On the other hand, there will
have to be guidance on what is considered discrimination for immigrants. Since they
are migrants from other countries, they are not considered to be Americans.
Therefore, the general principals of the country may not apply to them. Although it is
conceivable that
Essay on Organizational Change Management
Organizational Change Management
Significant organizational change occurs when an organization changes its overall
strategy for success, adds or removes a major section or practice, and/or wants to
change the very nature by which it operates. It also occurs when an organization
evolves through various life cycles, just like people must successfully evolve through
life cycles. For organizations to develop, they often must undergo significant change
at various points in their development; hence the topic of organizational change and
development has become widespread in communications about business,
organizations, leadership and management.

In support of principle one, the practice that must accompany it is to align the goals
of a change effort with organizational strategy. An organization s strategic plan
identifies the products and services it delivers and the core business and key
supporting processes that help deliver these products and services. It also identifies
the organization s special competencies and how they enhance the core and key
supporting organizational processes. If the goals of the change effort do not support
the organizational strategy then the change effort will not yield significant value to
the organization.
The Epic EHR supports the business goals of Legacy by promoting preventative
medicine through integrative communication and access, better record keeping, and
improved coordination of health care services, as well as by reducing waste,
inefficiency, and miscommunication. These efforts will reduce the national cost of
health care and lower out of pocket expenses, which are two big aims of Legacy
Health.
Therefore, by aligning the goals of a change effort with the business strategy of an
organization, the change effort will have a greater chance of succeeding because the
change effort will receive greater executive commitment than if the goals were not
aligned. In sum, the commitment of executive level management
Jimmy Carter Panama Canal
Jimmy Carter was the thirty ninth president of the United States covering the years
of 1977 to 1980. He maintained a military that took away all of the national wealth
which protected corporate wealth and power (Zinn, Ch. 21). As Zinn states, the
Panama Canal during the Panama Canal treaty saved American companies $1.5
billion a year in delivery costs, and the United Statescollected $150 million a year in
tolls, out of which it paid the Panama government $2.3 million dollars, while
maintaining fourteen military bases in the area. This shows just how much of the
people s money went straight to the military, whether the people wanted their money
to be used that way or not, the government could do what they wanted with their
money as they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was part of the Democratic Party and had different policies than President
Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. Carter was in favor of conservative domestic
and foreign policies. The Reagan administration took a directly anti communist
stance towards the Soviet Union. After Carter stepped down from office, Reagan
took his place as president, then there was Bush. Bush was very proud of his
signing of the Clean Air Act of 990 therefore calling him the environmental
president. Little money was set aside for enforcement. While Reagan built up
military, he tried to pay for this with cuts in benefits for the poor. There would be
$140 billion of cuts in social programs through 1984 and an increase of $181 billion
for defense in the same period. He also proposed tax cuts, but insisted he would still
balance the budget because the tax cuts would so stimulate the economy as to
generate new revenue.
The policies got worse over time by increasing the military budget, cutting benefits to
poor people, lowering taxes for wealthy, filling the federal court system with
conservative judges, actively working to destroy revolutionary movements in the
Caribbean. Corporate America became the greatest successor of the Reagan Bush
years. Their concern

Touching Spirit Bear Essay.pdf

  • 1. Touching Spirit Bear Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "Touching Spirit Bear" can present both challenges and opportunities for the writer. On one hand, the novel, written by Ben Mikaelsen, offers a rich tapestry of themes and characters to explore, providing a solid foundation for analysis. However, delving into the intricacies of the narrative requires a keen understanding of the author's intentions, character motivations, and the broader socio-cultural context depicted in the book. One of the difficulties lies in interpreting and conveying the transformative journey of the protagonist, Cole Matthews. The story involves themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the connection between nature and human spirit, all of which demand careful examination and thoughtful analysis. Capturing the essence of Cole's emotional and psychological growth throughout the novel can be a nuanced task, as it requires a balance between empathetic understanding and critical evaluation. Furthermore, addressing the symbolism embedded in the titular Spirit Bear and the significance of the Circle Justice system adds another layer of complexity to the essay. It necessitates a thorough exploration of indigenous cultures, their values, and the broader implications of restorative justice. Researching scholarly perspectives, critical analyses, and cultural contexts related to the novel becomes paramount for a comprehensive essay. Integrating these external sources while maintaining a coherent and original voice adds to the intricacy of the writing process. Despite the challenges, tackling a "Touching Spirit Bear" essay provides an opportunity for personal engagement with literature and critical thinking. It allows the writer to explore themes that resonate on a human level and reflect on the transformative power of narrative storytelling. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of "Touching Spirit Bear" requires a delicate balance of empathy, analysis, and cultural understanding. Navigating the complexities of the novel demands a keen awareness of the characters' journeys, the symbolism employed, and the broader societal themes at play. However, with diligence and a thoughtful approach, one can produce an insightful and compelling essay that does justice to the depth of the narrative. For those seeking assistance with essays or similar academic tasks, various resources are available, such as HelpWriting.net, where similar essays and more can be ordered to aid in the writing process. • 2. Led Zeppelin s Influence On Rock Music Stemmed from a humorous conversation among musicians, the name Led Zeppelin has had a great impact on rock music. Their influence had carried on past the 1970 s, the time of their highest peak of popularity when they had toured extensively. Almost instantaneously they had become a hit, performing four concert tours in the US within their very first year. As time went on, many heavy metal bands such as Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Queen, and Aerosmith as well as punk bands like the Ramones had been impacted by Zeppelin and showed similar music styles in their own work. • 3. The Talented Mr.Ripley The Struggle of the Mind The Psychoanalytic Theory is a means of literary critique which provides a framework for insightful character analysis. Its tenet is based on Sigmund Freud s structural model of the psyche which identifies the id, the ego and the superego as the three theoretical constructs in terms of whose activity and interaction mental life is described. According to such model, the irrational, instinctual trends of the mind are the id; the rational, realistic part of the psyche is the ego; and its critical and moralizing function is the superego. The banking industry has discovered that when they outsource their training programs they receive a bigger response from the employees. The overall benefits are much higher then any other type of training. People learn by doing, nobody learns much by listening or reading only. So lecture training is not welcomed. The most commonly used method for transferring information in education today is the lecture. Lecturing is all about the presenter and not the student. The banking industry has found that when training is presented in a form of a lecture many people seem to nod off or doodle on their notepad instead of listening. This is a waste of time and money. Interaction is the key. Types of interaction include employee to employee interaction, employee to supervisor interactions, and supervisor to supervisor interaction. The more interaction there is in the organization, the better the learning. When employees interact with each other they are forced to use the information, moving the information into their long term memory, and retaining it for
  • 7. The Importance Of Plural Marriage When people hear the term plural marriage , they raise an eye because it is often seen as something immoral and unacceptable in our society. What does it mean? Plural marriage is defined by Oxford Dictionary as the practice or custom of having more than one wife or husband at the same time. This has been the case of a household in the small town of Bountiful, British Columbia, where a man by the name of Winston Blackmore lived with his 24 wives who gave birth to a total of over 130 children. After decades of investigation and legal disputes, Blackmore was eventually proven guilty of practicing polygamyon the July of 2017 and is set to face up to five years in prison for the violation of section 293 of the Criminal Code: Unlawful Solemnization of Marriage. However, the question remains: is prohibiting plural marriage an unreasonable infringement of human rights? From my perspective, I disagree with this statement. Winston Blackmore defends that convicting him for believing in his faith is against his rights as according to section 2 of the Charter: Fundamental Freedoms. However, it is important to understand that your rights are not absolute. There are limitations to your rights because they sometimes contradict each other. For example, R v. Keegstra case was a clash between rights. Keegstra was allowed to express his opinion under the section 2 of the Charter, but that resulted in violation of someone else s rights. For cases where one s rights have to be infringed

Thus, human beings are unable to understand and comprehend love s truest form which is found in the embodiment God s being. Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes difficult to understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God s love. Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love. Thus, God reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while Jesus displays the attribute of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and the Holy Spirit makes the attribute known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love itself is in triunity; hence, there must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53). In the Godhead, the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John 14:31) in the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16) gave the Son his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30; Galatians 5:22) which is expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption where the invisible is made visible (Conner, 1980). For the children of India, work becomes a nightmare based on suffering and mistreatment. While children have no choice but to be independent and forced to work, it can be a big influence on the child s education, life, health, and development. Where poverty turned out to be the number one factor in which child labor increased, it is also caused by a long term effect of instability and a lack of growth stemming from various reasons such as low income from jobs, agriculture, and social order. The basis of child labor stems from the hardships their parents had to undergo and

There are some protocols that are applied in case it is reached the maximum limit of CO2 and NOx concentration. However, that is not enough because it does not stop the contamination. In order to solve the problem, it is needed an economic and energy restructuration of the city. Some of the ideal characteristics for a city of the future are going to be described as follows. The main measure would be to forbid the entrance to the city of conventional vehicles. The structure of the city and the means of transport would be designed according with this measure. The layout of the new city would be radial, with the business center in the middle. In this area, most of the buildings would be giant skyscrapers, allowing room not only for offices but also other kinds of business such as restaurants and shopping malls. Also, in order to improve the work life balance, these edifices could have schools allowing the parents to spend time with their children during the workday. The jobs would have flexible schedule allowing the workers to come in any time in the morning. With this, as not everybody would go to work at the same time, there would be less congestion in the entrance of the city, reducing the contamination. Surrounding the business and the leisure area, there would be the residential neighborhoods formed by small houses and green zones

(Jacobs 2015) The policy process was vague since Clinton had not considered putting the right measures of advocating for this project. If he would come up with a more realistic pattern of undertaking the process, then it would have been simpler to make people agree to the project since it was an excellent program. The environment that this policy had to be taken through was hostile. These are because the Democrats were not in standard terms hence the delivery would have failed to have gone through. If a side does not have a clear view on what to implement it is always correct for such a party to discuss the way forward on what approaches they would have taken to convey to the public. There was turmoil in the party at that time, so Clinton should never have advocated for the advocacy of that bill at such a time. Hence he would have waited for the political diversion to cool down to proceed with the healthcare plans. Another thing that this leader would have done was to select another leader to head the policy rather than his wife. This policy would have been respected more and more people would have conquered with the bill for the well being of the country. Lastly, Clinton was supposed to show his leadership authority by bringing the party to one decision. Hence this was easier for him to allocate what its members expected. (Tesler 2012)

Whether it be in our watches, or even something like our washing machines, digital counters are found in nearly anything that involves timing (Electronics Hub, 2015). Counters have come a very long way over the years, increasing in both efficiency and complexity. One example of an early counter is the counter developed by Paul Stillman in 1854. This design had a small manual crank which would turn a dial by one digit each time it was cranked. Once the first dial had turned by ten digits, it would then turn the next dial by one digit (in a gradual motion). In 1920, the Veeder Manufacturing Company made a counter that replaced this manual crank, which would only allow for turning the dials one digit at a time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As these flip flops have a positive edge trigger for the clock input, this means every time the clock input goes from LOW to HIGH, it triggers the flip flop, updating the Q output to whatever the D input is, assuming the SET and RESET inputs of the flip flop are both inactive, which they are in this circuit (Digital Electronics, 2014). At the start, the D input will be HIGH, because D is connected to the inverted Q output (PyroElectro, 2013). However, the 555 timer has a HIGH output at the start, but due to the fact the flip flop triggers when the clock input goes from LOW to HIGH, the counter still starts off counting from 0, because it takes one count for the clock to go back to LOW then to HIGH again. As the clock counts, every second count of the previous flip flop will cause the next flip flop to change state. Thinking back to simple binary theory, this makes sense. As a digit in binary is double the previous one, every second time the previous digit changes state, the next digit should change state once. As this is a four bit counter, once the fourth digit changes state from HIGH to LOW, the counter resets, and counts from zero

Some often give across the same message and can be compared very closely to each other. We, readers, see a great example of this in both Grendel, by John Gardner, and Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. In these novels we see that numerous topics are parallel to one another. The ideas of isolation, injustice, and consideration are present in both texts. While Grendel, from an early point in the novel, is aware that he is alone, the topic of isolation is apparent throughout the entirety of the story. Specifically, Grendel asks, Why can t I have someone to talk to? I said. The stars said nothing, but I pretended to ignore the rudeness. Eventually, he moved on to clean lines and colors without any transition, independent from content. Once the war ended, Mondrian immediately returned to Paris. The painting, Composition: Checkerboard, Dark Colors, made in 1919, is made up of a rectangular canvas divided up by a grid of uniform rectangles. These shapes have been filled in with three colors, a red, a purple, and a blue. These colors do not seem to be the traditional, colors straight out of the tube. For example, the red is slightly orange and the purple leans more red than blue. The colors are also placed in a seemingly random manner and each color is equally present. Mondrian placed these colors only according to his own intuition. It is clear that he made some alterations in color and changes are detectable in the rectangles that are filled with somewhat mixed or tinted variations of these colors. The equal amounts of color make it so there are no places to focus. Instead the repeating randomness creates a sense of static and movement within the painting. Unlike Still Life with Gingerpot II, the prewar example, Composition: Checkerboard, Dark Colors is not based on anything from the physical world. Instead of representing something, Mondrian conceived an entirely original composition. He merely filled in this

Paddy has two children which out of the two the younger one Naveah is under her primary care. Although of age to attend preschool she has not yet looked into that. Paddy has foreseen the events that need to be attended to first, which would be to find a stable housing. Getting her daughter is not her main issue and can identify the reason. She was able to see Naveah is fine where she s at and taking on another responsibility will be hard at this time, therefore she herself has identified housing first and when she is stable while continuing her job and school she will then proceed to transit her daughter into an appropriate school. I believe Paddy knows what is good for her at the moment and on a micro level she is willing to work one on one with
  • 45. Project Life Cycle Is The Only Thing That Uniquely Defined... 2.1 General The life cycle is the only thing that uniquely distinguishes projects from non projects . If that is true, then it would be valuable to examine just what role the so called Project life cycle plays in the conduct of project management. The basic life cycle follows a common generic sequence: Opportunity, Design Development, Production, Hand over, and Post Project Evaluation. A project can be defined as the work required Taking an opportunity and converting it into an asset. In this sense, both the opportunity And asset are singular, with the implied use being for generating benefit rather than Consumed as a resource in normal operational activity over a prolonged period. (Kerzner, 1995). 2.2 Construction Project Life Cycle According to Lawrence, (2003) a project has been defined as having a beginning and an end (the life) and the project can be divided up into several stages. The project then is said to have a life cycle. The cycle does not usually repeat. For a construction project, there are several standard stages for the holistic picture and with looking at. The client is involved in all of these stages and outside Appointments may only be made for some of client, depending upon client choice and Expertise. The diagram indicates the main phases of a construction project and the order in which they come. The design and tender stages are included within the pre construction box under this model. Water Soluble Molecules The encapsulation of water soluble molecules has a vast number of applications in the industry in areas such as pharmaceutical, textile, coatings, food, personal care, household care and agricultural. Here the role of the hydrophilic molecules microencapsulation for each area and what is being encapsulated will be briefly explained, along with the key objectives and challenges. 2.1Pharmaceutical In the pharmaceutical industry context, the principal water soluble actives desired to be encapsulated are small water soluble drugs, enzymes, vaccines, peptides and DNA [3]. The primary feature of microcapsules in the pharmaceutical industry is the drug delivery with controlled and targeted release, leading to an increase of the drug... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.3Textile Industry The major interest in microencapsulation for the textile industry is the possibility of the application of functional agents to the fabric in order to enhance the fabric properties and/or functionality [12]. The microencapsulation technology has been well studied when it comes to the application of durable fragrances, skin softeners [13] and thermos regulating fabrics [14 16], nonetheless, there is a growing interest in hydrophilic molecules encapsulation for applications in textiles such as insect repellent [17], dyes [18], flame retardants [19] and antimicrobial agents [12, 20]. The challenges for the area are mainly the high cost of introducing microcapsules to fabric as well as the short shelf life of the microcapsules on the garment, specially through washing cycles [13]. There are still much to be explored in this area as well as plenty of space for new technologies as microencapsulation can offer a wide range of opportunities for textiles [14]. 2.4Personal and household Care There is a growing interest in microcapsules in the consumer goods industry, where the technology can be applied in a large number of different products such as laundry detergents, toothpaste, body lotions and sunscreens, for example. The objectives for this area can be vastly diverse but mainly divided in three sectors: improvement of the functionality, formulation and appearance [3]. When it comes

The Fate of Women in The Birthmark Essay The Fate of Women in The Birthmark Wilson Sullivan in Nathaniel Hawthorne in New England Men of Letters states that Nathaniel Hawthorne s tale, The Birthmark, depicts the efforts of a deranged scientist to obtain total perfection in his wife by removal of a facial blemish. In this story the scientist operates on the superficial level of the physical world, while the woman, the truly heroic woman, functions on the level of the heart and soul, the more significant level. She it is who in her virtue provides for the reader an example to live by, even though she loses her life in the process. This essay hopes to explore the status, role, attitude toward women and other such issues. Alfred Kazin in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The wife s virtue leads her onward and upward; the husband s lack thereof and inability to appreciate virtue in his Georgiana leads him downward and downward. Even after Aylmer has persuaded a beautiful woman to become his wife, he is not capable of loving her properly, unselfishly, because he had devoted himself, however, too unreservedly to scientific studies ever to be weaned from them by any second passion. The narrator seeks to justify this error or lack in Aylmer by explaining that it was not unusual for the love of science to rival the love of woman in its depth and absorbing energy. Already at the outset of the tale, the reader perceives that Georgiana is going to be shortchanged in this marriage. She is exposed to the problem initially when her husband asks whether it never occurred to you that the mark upon your cheek might be removed? Aylmer is in quest of physical perfection in his wife; unfortunately he discounts her inner, spiritual value so clearly manifested in her comment: ``To tell you the truth it has been so often called a charm that I was simple enough to imagine it might be so. In using the word simple she is being honest and not sarcastic; she is being humble and respectful of others (parents?) evaluation of herself. The reply comes from a virtuous woman. Hawthorne himself was preoccupied with . . .the

Furthermore, this will open up a whole new issue involving the employment from a discriminatory position, which can cause problems for employers. Of course, there will be an imbalance of pay and possibly workload for some immigrants, but there is really no legal guidance on how employers should treat them. On the other hand, there will have to be guidance on what is considered discrimination for immigrants. Since they are migrants from other countries, they are not considered to be Americans. Therefore, the general principals of the country may not apply to them. Although it is conceivable that
  • 50. Essay on Organizational Change Management Organizational Change Management Significant organizational change occurs when an organization changes its overall strategy for success, adds or removes a major section or practice, and/or wants to change the very nature by which it operates. It also occurs when an organization evolves through various life cycles, just like people must successfully evolve through life cycles. For organizations to develop, they often must undergo significant change at various points in their development; hence the topic of organizational change and development has become widespread in communications about business, organizations, leadership and management. Find and idea that fits the business needs. Every process should increase organizational value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In support of principle one, the practice that must accompany it is to align the goals of a change effort with organizational strategy. An organization s strategic plan identifies the products and services it delivers and the core business and key supporting processes that help deliver these products and services. It also identifies the organization s special competencies and how they enhance the core and key supporting organizational processes. If the goals of the change effort do not support the organizational strategy then the change effort will not yield significant value to the organization. The Epic EHR supports the business goals of Legacy by promoting preventative medicine through integrative communication and access, better record keeping, and improved coordination of health care services, as well as by reducing waste, inefficiency, and miscommunication. These efforts will reduce the national cost of health care and lower out of pocket expenses, which are two big aims of Legacy Health. Therefore, by aligning the goals of a change effort with the business strategy of an organization, the change effort will have a greater chance of succeeding because the change effort will receive greater executive commitment than if the goals were not aligned. In sum, the commitment of executive level management
  • 51. Jimmy Carter Panama Canal Jimmy Carter was the thirty ninth president of the United States covering the years of 1977 to 1980. He maintained a military that took away all of the national wealth which protected corporate wealth and power (Zinn, Ch. 21). As Zinn states, the Panama Canal during the Panama Canal treaty saved American companies $1.5 billion a year in delivery costs, and the United Statescollected $150 million a year in tolls, out of which it paid the Panama government $2.3 million dollars, while maintaining fourteen military bases in the area. This shows just how much of the people s money went straight to the military, whether the people wanted their money to be used that way or not, the government could do what they wanted with their money as they... Carter was in favor of conservative domestic and foreign policies. The Reagan administration took a directly anti communist stance towards the Soviet Union. After Carter stepped down from office, Reagan took his place as president, then there was Bush. Bush was very proud of his signing of the Clean Air Act of 990 therefore calling him the environmental president. Little money was set aside for enforcement. While Reagan built up military, he tried to pay for this with cuts in benefits for the poor. There would be $140 billion of cuts in social programs through 1984 and an increase of $181 billion for defense in the same period. He also proposed tax cuts, but insisted he would still balance the budget because the tax cuts would so stimulate the economy as to generate new revenue. The policies got worse over time by increasing the military budget, cutting benefits to poor people, lowering taxes for wealthy, filling the federal court system with conservative judges, actively working to destroy revolutionary movements in the Caribbean. Corporate America became the greatest successor of the Reagan Bush years. Their concern
