How do actors use their body to
      create emotion?
MOVEMENT
• There are several performers that use movement to
  create emotion.
• Watch the following link and watch the
  performers. How do you react?
• Ask these questions
   –  What do you feel when they move fast?
   –  How about when they move slow?
   –  Is there tension, if so why?
   –  Do you feel anxious or excited?
   –  How do you react when their body arches or certain
      way or sways in a specific manner?

draw them out on the worksheet handed to you.


These facial expressions will help you choose how you
want to do your masks


Draw the Facial expressions and keep them for later, do

MAKEUP ACTIVITY
• From what you have seen you should know that
  make up designers use colors to make their
  viewers feel a certain way.
• Keep the styles of what you have seen and try to
  create your own make up style for your mask
• Make sure you draw facial expressions before you
  start using color!!
• Then we will create our own masks!
FINAL ACTIVITY
• We are going to be creating our own masks
• These masks have be a certain character, it can be
  an actor, a cartoon, or one of your own characters
• You must use one of your make up designs to
  color your character’s mask
• With everything we learned we will perform our
  characters at the end of the lesson, while we are
  performing there will BE NO WORDS, just
  movement, sound, physical body language…
