All data was sourced from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn & 2020 QS World Ranking. Results
regarding the Top 10 US Universities are used to give a reflection of education quality. Age range of
over 25 years plus was chosen for consistency. Gender and other age categories are used for
comparison only. It is noted that not all Social Media users have included their age or gender. It is
also noted that not all data added by users to their profile is accurate. The below data refers to the
number of individual users of the indicated platforms who are aligned to the demographic targeted. It
is noted that duplicate users may cause inaccuracies. It is noted that all data targetable is self-audited
by the social media user.
It is noted that ‘Attendance’ may not reflect graduation. For the purpose of consistency University
names referring to the ‘Department of’ and ‘Schools of’ were not included. Attendance reflects
Schools & Universities as indicated on user profiles. Please note that the datapoint of ‘Interest’ was
not considered. It is noted that LinkedIn is considered more of a professional platform; it would be
expected that a higher number of users on LinkedIn would refer to their academic background on
comparison to Facebook & Instagram.
It is noted that the below data is considered a summary of findings. A much deeper data target will be
achieved with a more narrowing approach. A percentage error must be considered regarding the
accuracy of the below data.
Purpose
The purpose of this report is to give indication on audience size that can be targeted with a Social
Media campaign on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. The below data reflects an audience size
2. which can be targeted using a Social media campaigns by either the Recruitment or Education sector
over a standard campaign duration of 30 days. Reference to age and gender is to give indication only.

Very strong international audience presence across Facebook & Instagram, almost tripling the
audience size on comparison to those living in the USA. For further clarification data referring to this
international audience would need to be further clarified. As expected, LinkedIn has a larger audience
based in the USA who have attended the Top 10 ranked universities. LinkedIn appears to have a
more mature audience of users who are over 35 years old. Further testing would be required to clarify
audience size regarding graduation and academic levels. It would be expected that LinkedIn would
have a higher percentage of academic level datapoints to target.
