Expect the unexpected, again and again.

Stand up for yourself! Document what you do and who you do it for.

Ask your clients to advocate for your services – they will miss you if you’re gone.

Recognize that new work arrangements can lead to new opportunities.

Be open to working with new people.

During a transition, ask questions, but don’t always expect answers.

Focus on the things you can control, not the things you can’t control.

Learn to work smarter, not harder.

Take the opportunity to build a new skill set to fill in the gaps.

Change is inevitable, so learn to cope.
