Self-Identity And Self Identity
Self identity is molded as a young age, but continues to change as we get older. This is
something that we all do not realize. During a person s lifetime many of us pause to think what
influence a person s identity. What makes us the individual that we are? I would say that it is
our home, where we live with our parents and siblings. Why do we have trust in certain things?
Why do we believe the way we do? I would say it is based on the way we were taught and raised
a set of opinions that have been instilled in a person since they were young. I would say that their
three great influences in my life that makes me who I am today my parents, my religion and my
culture. Upbringing it has molded me into who I am today. Since I was growing up my parents
taught me about showing respect to everyone especially our superiors. My parents always taught
us that being a good citizen in your community always identifies the individual as a good person.
My parents taught us that when two adults are having a conversation to never interrupt. When
someone was talking and if you needed to walk through you would say excuse me. Never
stealing what does not belong to you. Helping a person out when they do not have a place to
stay. How to have patience with other people and learning that sometimes the best thing to do is
just to be quiet. An example I can say that I went through as I was growing up I was 10 years old
when we had several family members move in to live with us and this is where

How Did Tolstoy Contribute To Suicide
oy, quoting Socrates, the book of Ecclesiastes, Buddha, and Schopenhauer, reaffirmed that life is
absurd and evil, and that death and nothingness are a better choice. The brief amount of time
after Tolstoy turned fifty, a critical spiritual crisis engulfed his life. His best pieces of work were
behind him, and he found his sense of purpose draining as his celebrity and public acclaim
weakened. He then began to sink into a deep state of depression and melancholia despite having a
large property, excellent health, a family, and literary fame. During this crisis he was on the brink
of suicide, but made one last attempt to turn the darkness into light. He turned to the world s

The Importance Of Wildfires In The United States
Imagine a single ember from a cigarette causing one million acres to burn in the United States
alone! Because of the intensity of these fires, and the amount of acres burned, the United States
is now approximately seven billion dollars more debt. Casualties and injuries occur with
wildfires along with seventy three percent of the houses and buildings in the vicinity being
charred or destroyed. Wildfires are a very under acknowledged natural disaster that is often under
estimated. Wildfires can often rage on for day, weeks, months, even years. Every year, nearly
35,000 emergency services risk their lives fighting fires, and of that 35,000 people, 65 of the
firefighters died. With all of these deaths, what can cause these wildfires? How

Threat Assessments
Prepper Journal: Information Gathering for Threat Assessments If you only listen to like minded
individuals what have you leaned. Sometimes, you have to hear things you do not like or agree
with necessarily to learn something new. If everyone agrees with each other, then progressing
forward is not an option in some cases. Knowing the truth is important, and it can be difficult to
hear sometimes, but not knowing is worse. How do you know what is true and what is not
however. Prepping is about being ready, and to have some idea of what to be ready for, you have

competitive news business the networks play to who they know their audience to be, so they

the trap of believing headlines like the banks will fail tomorrow and if you do not dig down into

Joan Of Arc Religion
During the late medieval period there was a handful of warfare and violence. England and France
engaged in the hundreds years war and there was a violent uprising by Europe s peasants known as
the Peasant s revolt. Many figures of this period in medieval history such as Joan of Arc and
Thomas Willinghamin justified these violent actions through religion. In two of Willingham s
famous works about the hundreds years warand the peasant s revolt he justifies war and violence
with religion. Joan of Arc assist France in its was against Englandand claims that she is driven by
God to help France. Thomas Moore was clearly disgusted by this period of Europe and wrote a

Joan of Arc, nicknamed The Maid of OrlГ©ans , is viewed as a courageous woman of France for
her part amid the Lancastrian period of the Hundred Years War, and was consecrated as a Roman
Catholic Saint. While Joan of Arc is a major medieval religious figure she was clearly a huge
advocate of violent bloodshed and she used religion to justify it. When Joan made her case to
help France win the Hundred s years war she claimed that she was sent by God to assist England
in the war, The King should not turn away from, or reject, the Pucelle, who says she has been
sent by God (The Life of Joan Arc, 75). It is clear that Joan of Arc believes that England s war
with France was part of God s will and that it was her duty to help assist her country in war. After
convincing King Charles to help him in the Hundreds year war he sends her to the siege of
Orleans as part of a relief mission. Joan of Arc s participation in the war boosted French moral
leading to victory. Eventually Joan of Arc is captured and put on trial. While on trial Joan once
again claims that she had visions of saints telling her to assist in the war, Item, this women says
and confesses that she has paid reverence to these voices and spirits that she calls, Michael,
Gabriel, Katherine and Margaret ( The Rouen Trial, 211). Joan is found guilty of heresy and
burned at the stake. Joan of Arc was war hero and martyr and clearly a warfare apologist using

Examples Of Foreshadowing In Call Of The Wild
Call of the wild is the worst book I ever read in my life. It is hard to understand, especially when
the people talk. Also I didnt know alot of words mean. My favorite chapter was chapter six. The
worst chapter was chapter seven. My opinion about chapter one is that is was sort a okay for the
most part. I liked it when Buck is at his house in Santa Clara California. I disliked it when Buck
got beaten and mistreated. what stood out to me was when the people poked Buck with sticks.
Also when the man in the red sweater beats Buck with a club. My opinion about chapter two is
that it worse than chapter one. I hated it when Curly died when she was just trying to be nice. I
disliked it when Buck and Spitz got into a fight. I liked it when it said buck got stronger and
smarter. I also liked it when Buck joined the other dogs to howl at the northern lights. I think

The setting in the first chapter is sunny, Santa Clara, California. The setting at the end of the

the whole outdoors adventure and survival. Here is some examples of foreshadowing in chapter
two and three, Buck and the team will start working together is that they were doing so much
training in chapter two. The reason why I thought that Spitz and Buck are going to fight is
because they got into a lot of other fights. The reason why I think Buck is going to learn how to
steal food is because he saw Pike steal a whole piece of bacon and the story said, He watched and
learned. Buck is going to stop hurting himself because it said, His muscles became hard as iron
and he grew callous to all ordinary pain. And the reason I think Buck and Sol leks will fight is
because Sol leks and Buck got into a fight before so I think they are going to fight again. That is

personally. The companies who have long term customers, they don t have to give discounts to
make new customers because their regular customers help them by just referring that product or

A.3 There are three facets of 21st centaury manager:
1.Vision: It is the ability to understand the demands of market and ways to fulfill that demands.
Like Cameron is blessed with the ability to understand the taste audiences. He had such a faith
in the success of Titanic that in order to prove his confidence. He played a clever move, instead
of getting fees for writing the screenplay and directing, he offered to get percentage of box office
sales. In the race of earning profit, Titanic went to replace George Lucas s Star War after earning
more than $25 million in first weekend. 3 D Avatar featured by Cameron won 11 Oscars.
2.Critical Thinking and Creativity: Critical Thinking is the ability to observe and get information to
know about problems and opportunities. Authenticity, accuracy, worth of information, knowledge
and argument all come under critical thinking. Creativity is defined as the effective and various
ways to do business. Mental exercises can help to develop creativity. Such example of creativity

A Look into Psalms 119
Everyday millions of Americans read stories to their children before they go to bed. I often read
Dr. Seuss books to my son Seth, who is four years old. He loves the rhythm and rimes that are
those books. One of his favorites is Green Eggs and Ham. Seth has begun to answer the questions
of Sam, answering him for the other character saying he does not like green eggs and ham . It
caught my attention that some of the Psalmsalso have a repetitive nature. Psalm 119is the longest of
all the Psalms and is very repetitive. Many people only read one section of the Psalm because of
the repetitive nature and do not look at the chapter as a whole. There is a lack of churches
teaching on the Psalms and some a not reading them at all. Psalm 119 is more than a long
repetitive Psalm, reading it as one passage there is evidence of determination by the author to
show why following the Lord s teaching is vital to life as a Christian. Comparison of three
sections of Psalm 119 will show how the Psalm repeats the same theme throughout the work.
This shows that the repetition is helpful in remembering the reason for follow God s laws. The
first section is 119:1 8 and will show the message the psalmist trying to convey. The second
section is 119:33 40 and this will show that God is our teacher and one way to learn is to follow
God s instructions. The third section is 119:65 72 this conveys that life is found in the openness of
God s instruction. All these sections together

Cv Accident Or Stroke Essay
CVA: Cerebrovascular accident or stroke
A CVA is a neurologic emergency that occurs when a blood vessel carrying oxygen and nutrients
to the brain is either blocked by a clot (ischemic stroke) or bursts (hemorrhagic stroke). A CVA
may also be referred to as a brain attack. As reported by Quick Reference to Occupational Therapy
(2014), a physical exam of the patient leads the physician to suspect a CVA and to gauge
impairments on a functional scale through confirmation from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
computed tomography (CT), cerebral angiography, or electroencephalography (EEG). Blood tests
for bleeding and clotting disorders may also be performed. Cardiac monitoring may show atrial
fibrillation or other arrhythmias (Reed, 2014).
Etiology: There are 2 types of strokes: Hemorrhagic and Ischemic. A Hemorrhagic strokeis when a
brain aneurysm bursts or a weakened blood vessel leaks. According to the National Stroke
Association (2016), about 15% strokes are hemorrhagic strokes per year. It is the least common
type of stroke, but most often results in death 40% of the time. When a hemorrhagic stroke occurs,
blood spills into or around the brain, and creates swelling and pressure which then damages cells
and tissue in the brain. There are 2 types of hemorrhagic strokes: an intracerebral hemorrhage
happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts and spills into the surrounding brain tissue,
damaging brain cells. A subarachnoid hemorrhage happens when an artery

I Love Florida Gulf Coast University
Part A: Desired Occupation
Florida Gulf Coast University: Vice President for Advancement Executive Director of Foundation
Between my freshman and sophomore year of college I completed a 450 hour internship at All
Children s Hospital. This internship although it was mainly administrative showed me a side of
hospitals that most people don t see. I was able to see the behind the scenes of fundraising and
public relations. I had first hand exposure to the world of fundraising for an organization that relies
on fundraising. Two years later completed my bachelors of science in general business management.
I am currently pursuing my masters in business administration and focusing in marketing. I feel
that through marketing I can combine both public relations and fundraising. Ever since I was
little I wanted to find a career that let me do what I love and find a way to help people. While
waiting to hear about my acceptance into the MBA program at FGCU I applied to a graduate
assistant position within FGCU s University Advancement department. As a graduate student this
was the dream position I had been looking for. It was the opportunity I had been looking for that
would allow me to use the skills I had gained by volunteering at All Children s Hospital. The old
saying, how do you get a job without experience, how do you get experience without a job does
have an answer; it s volunteering.

Blood Meridian Essay
In Blood Meridian, Cormac McCarthy describes a lawless and godless group of men ordained to
cleanse the West of lesser people. This group wanders through the West leaving a trail of
slaughtered people in their trail. The emptiness and ruthlessness of their hearts is reflected in the
harsh and unforgiving landscape. McCarthy uses reoccurring themes of war, religion, and dance to
paint a graphic picture of the savageness of life in the West.
As men ordained on a mission, Glanton s Gang is paid to seek out the scalps of Apaches and return
them to the Mexican town of Chihuahua City. The gang quickly moves beyond the killing of
Indians to include Mexicans, Americans, and whoever else crosses their path. The men are killing

Whatever Holden judges, it is not written law. It is an unwritten law, the law of death and evil.
Judge Holden represents a demonic character, larger than life, with a cruel soul.
The Imbecile, James Robert, exemplifies the Judge s god like power. Once the Judge rescues
James from drowning and after a sort of mock baptism, the once wild man becomes docile and
shadows the Judge s every movement. Judge Holden leading the imbecile around on a leash is
similar to a king being followed by his fool. The imbecile is another creature the Judge controls
by allowing to exist. One reason he allows the imbecile to live, while killing so many others, may
be as a way to show his superiority to Glanton. While Glanton has a mere dog as a pet, the Judge
has an actual human as a pet.
Another example of Judge Holden s god like behavior occurs as he is pursuing the Kid and
Tobin. Throughout the novel, whenever the Judge set out to accomplish a task, he succeeds.
While the Kid is drinking water in the bone filled ravine, the Judge shoots at the Kid and misses.
The Judge is an excellent marksman and has a clear shot. However, at this point, he allows the Kid
to live. Instead of shooting to kill, the Judge s shot serves as a way to control the Kid; to maintain
his suzerainty over the weakest member of the group.
Judge Holden controls through destruction and pure evil, only he perseveres and triumphs, while
others fail, including the Kid.

Research shows that the human mind is not like a tape recorder, we neither record events exactly
as we see them, nor recall them like a tape that has been rewound. Instead, witness memory is like
any other evidence at a crime scene; it must be preserved carefully, or it can be contaminated. A
case I would like to mention is the Calvin Willis Case. One night in 1982, three young girls were
sleeping alone in a Shreveport, Louisiana home when a man in cowboy boots came into the house
and raped the oldest girl, who was Ten years old. When policestarted to investigate the rape, the
three girls all remembered the attack differently. One police report said the Ten year old victim

Calvin Willis, who lived in the neighbourhood. The girl s mother testified at trial that neighbours
had mentioned Willis s name when discussing who might have committed the crime. The victim
testified that she was shown photos and told to pick the man without a full beard. She testified
that she didn t pick anyone, police said she picked Willis. Willis was convicted by a jury and
sentenced to life in prison. In 2003, DNA testing proved Willis innocence and he was released. He

Is Attrition A Negative Impact On Late Stage Doctoral...
Literature Review Willis and Carmichael (2011) presented foundlings stating that attrition is
defined by the experiences gathered in the doctoral study rather than the stage at which erosion
occurs. The study share relevant similarities to previous research, indicating perverse experiences
could lead to pessimistic outcomes regardless of the field or stage of the doctorate program (Willis
and Carmichael, 2011). The theoretical foundations of this case study support the synthesis
arguments of Hoskins and Goldberg (2005) that stated dissertation committee chair post a
problematic negative impact on late stage doctoral attrition. Other scholars argue the results of the
current research. Incomplete doctoral learners all assert how a problematic relationship with their
dissertation chair played a significant role in their decision to leave the program (Willis and
Carmichael, 2011). However, Willis and Carmichael (2011) identified the gap and addressed
problems in the attrition decision. Dropped out learners were not allowed to achieve their goals,
and that resulted in negative emotions (Willis and Carmichael (2011). According to Willis and
Carmichael (2011), comparatively, students that willing quit the dissertation process no longer
desire the degree, and thus experienced positive emotions related to attrition, but more research is
needed. Phenomenon Key Component The event key element in this qualitative study describes

Aim This report will look at the benefits and issues surrounding the UKs decision to remain as a
member state of the European Union (E.U.). Along with the newly elected conservative
government, came the announcement that a nationwide referendum would be held, by the end
of 2017, in order to determine the British public s stance on the issue of EU membership.
Abstract This report will look at the benefits and issues surrounding the UKs decision to remain
as a member state of the E.U. It will consider the pros and cons of membership, and the various
viewpoints of those who remain in the E.U. and those who wish to exit from it. The report will

How does money laundering work in theory?
There are normally three steps in the ML process:
1.Placement This is where the money originated from an illegal source is introduced into the
financial system. This may be by way of depositing it into a bank account or by converting it into
diamonds, gold or other assets that can then be sold.
2.Layering This is where the money from an illegal source is dispersed and disguised through a
series of transactions or moved several times from its origin in order to hide any audit trail. This
may involve the use of multiple banks and accounts in difference names, then transact through
intermediaries, corporations and trusts.
3.Integration This is where, after distancing the money from any criminal association, that money is
integrated back into the economy. This may be by investment in property developments or similar
activities. At this stage, the illegal money has achieved the appearance of legitimacy.

The Book of John
John
The book of John was written in AD 90, and it was written by John himself the beloved disciple.
The main characters of the book of John were of course John and Jesus. The book of John was
one of the four Gospels of the New Testement. However, it was different than the others. John s
Gospel is different by nature from the other three. It is an interpretation of the facts of Jesus life with
an emphasis of His deity (Hindson Towns, 2013, p. 342). The book of John first tells us about
Jesus preexistence and that this child would be born unlike any other child and that child would
not depend on a mother, but He would depend on His father; God. This book tells us about all
the miracles that He did. He fed thousands with five loaves of bread and two fish, he healed a
lame man, and calmed a storm. Then the book of John goes to tell us about Jesus being arrested
and the trials that He went through. Also, about Pilate trying to release Him, but could not. It
was made up that He was to be crucified. He then was crucified and to make sure that He was
dead they pierced his side. In the last chapters of John, it tells us that Jesus was buried in a tomb
and He lay there for three days. After the third day, the tomb had been opened and Jesus was gone.
He had risen!
Pontius Pilate
Pontius Pilate was a Roman governor. He was introduced in the book of John during Jesus arrest
and trials; which means that he lived in the time frame of when the book of John was

Compare And Contrast Federalist And Federalists
The ground of liberty is to be gained by inches, that we must be contented to secure what we can
get from time to time, and eternally press forward for what is yet to get. It takes time to persuade
men to do even what is for their own good, quoted by Thomas Jefferson on January 27, 1790.
Around this time there were two political parties that are talked about throughout this paper, The
Federalists and The Democratic Republican party. There were several problems occurring in the
United States of America around the 1790 s, due to the fact that George Washington resigned
from presidency and didn t choose to run for a third four year term. Around this time Washington
worried that the nation will split from political parties emerging trying to elect a new president
and vice president. There are two major political parties emerging, Federalist and the Democratic
Republican party, these two parties had differing views on The Constitution, ideal people,
government, and foreign policy position. These two parties do represent, and they do not
represent the Democratic Party and the Republican Party of today. Our government today follows
some of each sides views today. I think that it doesn t matter what kind of job you have or what
ethnicity you are to be president, unlike the Federalist and the Democratic Republican party. The
Government chooses bits and pieces of there ideal views, and that s how they run the government
today. I do favor parts of the Federalist Party, and the Democratic Republican Party today. I like
how the Democratic Republican Party had farmers as some of there people because today we don t
run off large scale manufacturing, and large scale manufacturing only, we use small farms to help
produce products for the whole entire world. Alexander Hamiltonheaded one these parties known
as the Federalists, he was followed by George Washington, John Adams, and Charles Pinckney.
Although Washington tried to stay neutral and not pick a side of the political parties he favored
the Federalists, because they were loyal to the government. Hamilton had views of wealthy, well
born aristocracy, based of their birth, wealth, and status as his people. Hamilton truly believed that
people are basically selfish, and

Tcr Recognition
T cells are one of the key factors in the adaptive immune system which specifically recognize the
virus infected and tumors cells. These cells recognize antigens (epi topes or tumor antigens) using
protein known as T cells receptor TCR which is heterodimer and is consisted of an alpha (О±) and
beta (ОІ) chains. The fully matured T cells population expressing О±ОІ T cells receptors (TCR)
composed of the T cells which expresses CD4 or CD8, and the CD4 or CD8 ОіОґ expressing T
cells receptor cells. The specificity of the CD4+ and CD8+ T cells is directed by the expression of
the co receptors, CD4 and CD8. The ligand for CD4 is the ОІ2 domain of the (MHC) class II
molecule however for the CD8 the ligand is О±3 domain of MHC class I moluecule. Therefore,...

Therefore, TCRs are unable to target tumor antigens such as carbohydrate or lipid antigens.
However, genetically modified T cells expressing CARs (chimeric antigen receptors) avoid the
TCRs limitation and can recognize intact antigen i.e. cell surface proteins, carbo hydrate and lipid
tumor antigen. Moreover, tumor can also down regulation expression of HLA. The T cells
expressing CARs can be used regardless of the HLA types in adaptive T cells therapy. Interaction
of the unique О±ОІ TCR of the T cells to the specific antigen presented on either class I or II MHC
molecule of antigen presenting cells (APCs) result in the activation of the T cells. This type of
activation is called Signal 1 , which is not sufficient for optimal activation and proliferation of the
T cells. Therefore, an optimal activation and proliferation requires an additional co stimulatory
signal 2 , provided by CD28 molecules on the surface of the APCs. Interaction of the CD28

from their phones without disturbing people with their voices.
Nonverbal communication is a form of communication that is always communicating, even
when one isn t speaking. An example of nonverbal communication is when one is talking or
listening one might smile, indicating they are happy with what was communicated or one
might yawn indicating one is bored or not interested with the topic of conversation. Without the
luxury of seeing each other in cyberspace, nonverbal cues are not known. Since IM has become
popular everything has become abbreviated, even ones emotion and nonverbal cues. IM users
have become aware of the distance associated with cyber communication. To compensate for the
distance users have created a way to make IM more personal. Examples of emotion and
nonverbal cues were created to fill the communication gaps, examples are: :) I m happy, :( I m
sad , :S I have mixed feelings, 8) I m wide awake, :0 I m surprised, (:0 I m very surprised, :p
Sticking out the tongue, :9 Yummy, :/ Hmmm, :v I m chatting. Aside from the written emotions
many IM services offer default almost cartoon like emotions. Examples of these are written in
HTML code and offer an abundance of colorful emotions.

Islam is one of the biggest religions in the world, in perspective, there are about 1.6 billion

Cursive Writing
To Cursive or Not to Cursive?
A fifteen year old straight A student walked into the Department of Motor Vehicles with her
mother. The excitement of becoming a driver for the first time quickly faded when the girl was
required to sign her name. The girl was mortified that she didn t know how. The mother couldn t
help but wonder if her child s generation was filled with cursive illiterates? Cursive writing should
be a curriculum requirement for grade school students not only because it is required on legal
documents but it is important to understand information written in cursive and it improves
penmanship.
Teenagers and young adults are increasingly faced with embarrassment because of their lacking
knowledge in the art of handwriting. For many young adults it starts with getting a driver s
license. As the amount of things that an individual wants in life increases the more their
signature is needed. The big things like a car and house can be thwarted for a short time by living
in a city with public transportation and with parents or roommates. There comes a point in life
when personal needs and wants become clear and the skill of signing one s name becomes a
necessity. Going to college or getting married and having children require tedious amounts of
paperwork that repeatedly asks a person to sign on the dotted line. Sometimes these legal ... Show

1 A Brief Introduction to Background Knowledge of the Holy Bible
The Holy Bible is a book that can be found almost anywhere on the earth. Almost every family in
western countries has a version of Bible, so it has come to be one of the major sources of
English culture. It has been translated into more than 2000 different languages and dialects. It is
also the world most popular book. Every year s more copies of the Bible are sold than any other
publication, and the number of sales is increasing. The word Bible is derived from the Greek

The Value Of A Migrant Worker Essay
A.)Social Location / pg.3: The group memberships that people have because of their location in
history and society
In The Harvest, it was interesting how the entire make up of the families was based on being a
migrant worker. Every person in the family seemed to already know what their role was going to
be as a child, there role in society was already pre mapped out for them. The goal as a family was to
have everyone in the United States working together in the fields. The families followed a yearly
routine, following the harvesting of different crops around the country. Their travels, their
homes, their income, their education, their social life, their human survival all based on the
harvesting of the different crops. The views of the world and the individual s role in life and
society is very limited. The one little girl actually said she wasn t sure that she had a dream.
That she had goals in life, but she wasn t really sure of an actual dream. Me coming from and
growing up in the working middle class, my role as a child was to play and receive an education. I
knew on some sort of level that my responsibility was going to school, have friends and a social
life, and hopefully work and progress in my field of studies. Making a comfortable living and
having hopes of an increase of salary. The migrant workers in this video have very different
dynamics. There was a large responsibility placed on the young children not even old enough to

A lot of the events that changed Pauls life also effected that of Mary
Dempster. The same quot;snowball quot; that caused the premature birth of Paul also
greatly altered the life of Mary. Mary suffered mentally and was said to have
gone quot;simple quot;(24) after Pauls shockingly sudden birth. Dunstan s daily visits
to Mary Dempster seemed to help Reverend Amasa Dempster cope with his
wife s illness. If it wasn t for work that Dunny did for Mary then the
Reverend would not have been so ignorant of his wife s condition for such a
long time. Ramsay had a large effect on Mary s life without his presence
ever being that of a main character.
Unlike the alterations Dunny caused on the lives of Mary and Paul
Dempster, those of Boy Staunton were a lot more subtle. Dunny and Boy
always had a rivalry between them that was occasionally unintentional.
Dunny and Boy spent years of their life competing for Leola Cruikshank. If
this rivalry had not been there, it is possible that Boy would not have been as
attracted to Leola and therefore would not have the incentive to marry her.
This same rivalry caused the two to argue the night that the snowball was
thrown. This is the first time that Boy has used the method of denial to deal
with a problem. Boy, after noticing how well he coped with this situation,
used this method to deal with almost all his problems later in life.

The Generation Of Generation And Student Loan Debt
Generation X faces many issues unique to their generation, technology was advancing, and
computer were becoming more affordable and widespread. They faced both social and
ecological issues, with advances in medicine that caused the generation before them to live

Xers are often known for their high level of skepticism and their what do I get out of this

The Olympic Games were designed to be a competition of athleticism, but during World War II,
they paraded their skilled athletes as trophies against other nations. Jesse Owens derailed the
expectations of supremacy for Adolf Hitler through his performance. Despite the racial tension

Aryan supremacy, but America included black athletes to their roster whereas 6 of them

Essay On NFL Needs To Take Action
Maintaining Control NFL Needs to Take Action In a season that has already seen season ending
injuries of several NFL superstars, Sunday s games on October 29th of 2017 brought forth its
most worst yet, both physically and in its implications. In the third quarter of a game between the
New Orleans Saints and the Chicago Bears, Mitchell Trubisky threw a beautiful pass into the
endzone, received midair by Chicago s tight end Zach Miller. As he fell to the ground alongside
the defender, the goal line official s arms raised, signaling a touchdown. However, upon the impact

a knee dislocation. While being initially checked for injury and assisted... Show more content on

Furthermore, because of spectator displeasure derived from this and other issues this season, the
NFL s ratings are struggling. In short, the NFL s official ruling of completing a catch is too
ambiguous for spectators, players, and officials, and should be addressed accordingly. The official
rulebook listing should be adjusted to define a catch as having control, within bounds of play, for
one complete second. This rule change would not only provide a much clearer definition of a catch,
but it would also make completing a reception or interception easier, recreating interest in the
struggling National Football League. The NFL catch rule has been a hotly contested topic of sports
debate since an incident involving Calvin Johnson, a highly respected former wide receiver for
the Detroit Lions, in 2010. Similar to Zach Miller s recent incident, Johnson was originally
awarded a touchdown reception, only to have it overturned for unclear and confusing reasons
upon review. This play resulted in the first of many changes to the catch rule in recent years, aptly
nicknamed the Calvin Johnson Rule (Rothstein). However, as proven by the necessity of revisiting
the rule again in 2015 and 2016, this was ineffective. Furthermore, as proven by scenarios such as
Zach Miller s earlier this season, it is clear that the recent word change has not removed the

Mass Wasting Experience
I am going to wright about how I would respond if a mass wasting event destroyed my home. I
am going to assume that I did not know about the risk of mass wasting when I purchased my

would also be very angry at myself for not doing research and for not applying the principles I
have learned in this class when it comes to purchasing a home. This class has taught me the type of
areas that are prone to masswasting. I know that I should not purchase a house in the mouth of a

How comforting this thought is! Not even death, even from a seemingly pointless disaster, can
separate me from my family. I understand how people who view death as the ultimate end can
view deadly disasters as the ultimate end of their purpose in life. With that said, the gospel does not
take away the pain that comes with the death of a loved one, but it does make the pain bearable.
This week I learned about various mass wasting events that have impacted cities around the world.
These events have forever changed landscapes, killed thousands, destroyed entire cities, furthered
scientific research, and have impacted the lives of all those caught with in its path. On a scientific
level I have learned where not to build or purchase a house. However, perhaps the most valuable
thing I have learned from this activity is how the gospel is incorporated within every aspect of our
lives, even natural disasters. Stanley Hauerwas, author of the article Go With God argues that the
light of Christ can be seen within every subject we study. To see this light requires faith and an

The Problems Of Unintended Pregnancies
PROBLEMS OF UNINTENDED PREGNANCIES
The United States citizens (especially women) have one of the least access to healthcare and worst
health outcomes among developed countries in the world despite the US spending about two and a
half times higher on health care per person than any other developed country in the world (Flynn,
2013). The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA, 2013) and the Organization for Economic Co
operation and Development (OECD, 2016) report similar data. This is reflected in the country s
disproportionately high unintended pregnancy rate (about half of all pregnancies are unintended),
high teenage pregnancy and high maternal mortality rates (Fig 1, Table 1). Adverse maternal and
child health outcomes such as delayed pre natal care, premature birth, negative physical and mental
health effects for children are some of the implications for unintended pregnancies (Guttmacher,
2016). Poor access to contraceptives translates directly to high unintended pregnancy rate which in
turn leads to poor health outcomes for women and children. United States has the highest infant
mortality rate among all first world countries. Teen pregnancies in turn contribute immensely to this
high infant mortality as a

Pancreatic Magnetic Resonance Imaging Analysis

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is the most common malignant tumor of the pancreas,
accounting for about 85 90% of all pancreatic tumors and is the fourth most common cause of
cancer death worldwide [1]. The remaining 10 15% of pancreatic tumors are a heterogeneous group
of pancreatic neoplasms that includes cystic pancreatic neoplasms, endocrine tumors and other
uncommon pancreatic tumors. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is reliable for the
characterization of solid and cystic pancreatic lesions. Due to the excellent soft tissue contrast, MRI
is able to readily separate cystic from noncystic tumors. Cystic tumors are frequently easier to

Freezing Point Depression Lab Report
Introduction
Molar mass is a fundamental quantity of chemistry. There are multiple ways to find the molar
mass of a substance experimentally; one way is to use Freezing Point Depression by using the
following equation: О”T= kf*m (Robinson, 2018). The purpose of this lab was to do just that;
measure the freezing point depression of a solution when a solute is added to a solvent, and from
that, determine the molar mass of an unknown substance, along with learning about the influence
that solutes have on liquid properties. A concept of importance to this experiment is freezing point.
According to LibreTexts, Freezing point depression is a colligative property observed in solutions

Colligative properties, such as boiling point and freezing point, are dependent on the amount of
solutes added, not necessarily their identities (LibreTexts, 2018). A fascinating concept related
to freezing points is Supercooling. Supercooling is a state where liquids do not form ice even
when they reach temperatures below their normal freezing point; they are trapped in a
metastable state (Esrf.eu, 2018). The best example of this is clouds at high altitudes: they
contain tiny droplets of water that do not have seed crystals, and therefore do not form ice
despite the low temperatures (Esrf.eu, 2018). The concept of freezing point depression is
applicable in many parts of everyday life. The most common example of freezing point
depression is in the salting of roads when it snows (Kimbrough, 2006). As the melting of the first
flakes on the warm road occurs, a solution of salty water is created which has a lower freezing
point than pure snow (Kimbrough, 2006). Now, the temperature will not get cold enough to freeze
the salty solution the way it can freeze water, keeping ice and snow from bonding to the pavement
(Kimbrough, 2006). In this lab, the freezing point depression was calculated experimentally by
adding an unknown solute to Lauric Acid,

Depression In Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
Stages of Depression: A Psychoanalytic Critique on Life of Okonkwo
When you have depression, nothing is enjoyable. Nothing can make you smile. These words are
described by a person who is currently battling depression. While reading the novel Things Fall
Apart, a psychoanalytic critic would most likely focus on the mental state of characters vital to
the story, such as Okonkwo (the protagonist of the novel) and his assumed depression. Depression
affects 350 million people globally today, and while not much was known about mental illness in
1880 s society, it clearly manifested itself in the novel s African setting due to many factors, as

overcomes a challenge to become successful with a sort of revelation, Achebe breaks this

culture, many well known celebrities have various mental illnesses partly because of the
expectations placed upon them and fear of losing their perfect image. Okonkwo was a sort of
celebrity in his Nigerian village, and with all of his power and glory he gained throughout his life
and in the novel, the stress and responsibility of being a true man took its toll on him. Depression

Georg Ferdinand Ludwig Philipp Cantor was born on March 3, 1845 in Saint Petersburg,
Russia. His father, Georg Waldemar Cantor, was a successful merchant working as a

They first moved to Wiesbaden, Germany than later moved to Frankfurt, where Georg studied at the

Enn315-Turn of the Screw
The Turn of the Screw is essentially an ambivalent text. Its narrative prompts divergent, even
opposite readings, but does not reconcile them. What happens remains irrevocably uncertain
James uses the prologue to the novel to introduce the themes with in this Novella but more
importantly he encourages the readers to be active in reading between the lines , and not to
accept what is said at face value , James achieves this by surrounding Douglass with a group of
people who are clearly and intently open about reading into the manuscripts further , they are
critical and sceptical, James also encourages the readers to search for sexual insinuations as Mrs
Griffin does about the sexual history between Douglas and the governess in the ... Show more

She assumes he is corrupting the other learners, but instead of trying to find out what actually
happened she chooses a difficult path for herself , as the reader we can only assume that it is to
win the favour of her employer that she chooses to for full the role of the saviour.
The first supernatural account defiantly makes agreeing with the opening statement easy as there
are so many ways that Peter Quint s first sitting could be interpreted. Firstly and most obviously, as
the unknown narrator made clear that this was a ghost story, as just that a supernatural occurrence.
Peter Quint had a tie to Bly. He was the valet and as alluded to by Mrs Grose in the early chapter
he liked his girls nice and young. He would defiantly continue the corruption of the children. Or
this could be a fragment of the governess s reality in two ways. Firstly to construct some sort of
evil to protect her charges from, so she could assume the role of saviour and hero to impress her
employer or it could be because the governess was fantasising about seeing someone around the
grounds , hopefully her employer , her desire for a master makes us question the authenticity of
this apparition. Her mind may have fabricated him as a desire of sexual desire. The governess
claims about the ghost become more and more subjective as the novella progresses, she eventually
concludes after a few sightings of explicit description that

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Magic Of Santa
The print ad, The Magic of Santa , does an effective job at reaching its targeted audience: a newly
formed family with young children. The Magic of Santa conveys the criteria: accessible contact
information, a reward for purchasing his product, invites the reader, and illustrates visual
magnetism. The emotional response to these elements of an ad are important to attaining the
interest of a targeted audience and connecting the rhetorical appeal to visualization.
The palette of the ad is limited to shades of green, red, and a few neutral colors that serve as the
medium. Santa Claus is seen sitting next to two young girls, one is praying, while the other has a
fascinated gaze emanating among her face. They are all present inside of a Cabin with the floor
and walls made out of a similar gradient wood texture. Components of the background consent of a
Christmas tree, wreath, stuffed animal, lamp, dog, and presents.
The author s contact information is accessible for the audience without a need for an outside
source. His website, email address, phone number, prices, and studio name are all present. They are

The theme of this ad serves to instill holiday cheer within the reader. Traditional aspects of the
print ad, such as a Christmas tree with ornaments, presents with the iconic wrapping and bow, and
cookies set out for Santa will draw the reader s attention. The author s tactic for connecting his
audience with the image is by compelling them to form a nostalgic response towards the ad. A
newly formed family who have younger children would feel a connection to the girls sitting around
the table next to their Holiday idol, Santa Claus. After the readers analyze the ad, they would form a

John Locke Second Practice Of Government
In this essay, I will argue that the Lockean theory does justify indigenous people s moral right to
engage in armed rebellions for the purpose of overthrowing the governments of Canada and the
United States of America. I will defend this thesis by arguing that both settler states are illegitimate
as their abuse of power beyond their right/authority over the natives nations lead to wrongful
appropriation of territory and failure in recognizing the natives form of governance as one of a
political community. To justify the appropriation of native land, Lock s theory of propertybecame
very important, morally speaking, for the settlers states. However, because John Lockehad vested
interests in the Europeans North American settling, his views... Show more content on

Therefore, in John Locke s theory of property, there was a right of settlement for anyone who
wanted to control the forest and improve its productivity. However, Locke also wrote in his work,
Second Treatise of Government , that one appropriating land through its improvement must leave
enough and as good for others (chapter 5, Sect. 27). In the context of Europeans settling on hunting
ground, it would mean that native people were left as well off as they were before the settlements.
Clearly, Locke s proviso was violated as natives found themselves worse off because of European
settlements. Indeed, because most settlements were on hunting land, it had a direct and negative
impact on the indigenous people s living conditions. As demonstrated in the previous paragraph,
Locke failed to recognize the indigenous people s political community, therefore granting them
legal authority over land. It is true that native people did not have the typical European political
system they did not have the original three powers of a government (legislative/executive/judicial)
which John Locke considered, in his newly narrow perspective of forming a political community, to
be very important in recognizing a civil society. I submit another overriding interpretation of John
Locke s theory of social contract, which is that the very purpose of the government is more
important than the political organization of the government itself. Indeed, Locke s theory of
constitution government revolves around how the states should be organized, while his theory of
social contract determine explicitly what makes government legitimate. As previously demonstrated
above, it is true that the native form of leadership did not have the typical European separation of
power. Notwithstanding

The Holocaust And The Holocaust Survivors
The Holocaust was a genocide during World War II that caused millions of people to die. The
Holocaust was the event where Nazi Germany killed millions of people that they did not seem to
be a part of the Nazi s Master Race. Adolf Hitler was the leader of Germany at the time and was a
major supporter of their attempt at creating the Master Race and eliminating those whom he did
not see being a part of his Master Race. Adolf Hitlerand Germany caused one of the largest death
tolls and most well known genocide in history, which is known now as the holocaust. My reaction to
the Second Generation to Holocaust Survivors: Enhanced Differentiation of Trauma
Transmission. written by, Micha Weiss and Sima Weiss is that those poor, innocent people were
killed or scarred for life for something they cannot control. I feel awful for all those kids and
young people who had to live the rest of their lives out after experiencing their parents be killed
or starved to death and seeing all those other people around them being killed. I also feel angry
that Germany let this happen, and not only let this happen, but supported Hitler s decision to kill
off millions of people and treated them so unfairly. Gail told of the death of her father after she

Essay On Effluent Discharge Requirements
3.0EFFLUENT DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS
The Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 specifies two standards for effluent discharge:
Standard A for discharge upstream of any raw water intake, and Standard B for discharge
downstream of any raw water intake. The current Third Schedule of the Environmental Quality Act
1974, under the Environmental Quality (Sewage and Industrial Effluents) Regulations, 1979,
regulations 8 (1), 8 (2) and 8 (3) has been revisited and the Department of Environment has
proposed 8th Schedule for the Act which stipulate effluent discharge limits for parameters specific
to domestic wastewater. The effluent discharge limits in 8th Schedule are summarised in Table 3.1.

Based on standard BOD measurement, the oxygen demand measured is usually influenced by the
following three (3) phenomena:
I.Oxygen demand by breakdown of soluble carbonaceous matter.
II.Oxygen demand by breakdown of suspended particulate carbonaceous matter.
III.Oxygen demand by oxidation of ammonia to nitrate by nitrifying bacteria present in the effluent
sample.
After undergoing biological treatment in the secondary reactor, residual soluble carbonaceous BOD
matter present in the effluent reduces in concentration to below 15 mg/L. Subsequently, nitrifying
bacteria populations tend to grow rapidly feeding on ammonia which is present in the partially
treated sewage. Nitrification may not be complete at levels of 5 mg/l of residual soluble
carbonaceous biodegradable matter. It depends on whether sufficient oxygen is available for the
oxidation of ammonia to nitrate. Hence, all BOD5 measurements shall adopt nitrification inhibition
step to ensure that the carbonaceous oxygen demand is reflected accurately in the overall BOD
measurement.

Summary Of The Enlightenment Salons
Dr. Dena Goodman is an American historian and Professor of History and Women s Studies at the
University of Michigan. Her most notable publications include The Republic of Letters: A Cultural
History of the French Enlightenment (1994) and Becoming a Woman in the Age of Letters (2009).
In her article, Enlightenment Salons: The Convergence of Female and Philosophic Ambition,
(1989) Dena Goodman stresses the pivotal role of women, as salonniГЁres, in the transformation
and governance of eighteenth century French Enlightenment salons, which were the base of the

The motivations were various and complex, from trying to advance from social dissipation to trying
to supplement the education that was denied to them as children.
However, as illustrated by eighteenth century French theologian and moralist, Jacques Joseph
Duget, there was a perception of frivolous and licentious salon women in the seventeenth century
corrupting society, particularly by feminizing men. Salons in the eighteenth century had evolved
from this, now trying to revive society through the philosophes Republic of Letters.
The salons were reclaimed from aristocracy and utilized by the philosophes as a space of
collaboration and intellectual exchange, fostering Enlightenment ideas, particularly egalitarianism.
Salons were characterized by the acknowledged equality among the participants as well as the birth
of intellectual practice as a valuable interest. The serious tone of the salon as a workspace provided
philosophes with the environment necessary to spread the ideals of the Enlightenment, including
the involvement of women in the enlightened community. The Republic of Letters developed
complementarily with the salon s social, institutional advancements, mirroring the interconnectivity
of philosophes and salonniГЁres alike in the Enlightenment project. Epistolary networks of
intellectual discussion and the continued exchange of letters was vital to the growth and

The Peloponnesian war which was fought in 431 404 BCE happened in ancient Greece and was
between two city states, Athens and Sparta. Athens had an alliance with coastal states and most of
the island states that boarded the shores of the Aegean Sea to the north and eastern side. Sparta, on
the other hand, had formed an alliance with all other independent states that formed central Greece
and Corinth, Sparta leading the alliance. Athens navy was strong and also Sparta s army was

A similar case occurred in California where a law has been passed prohibiting smoking in certain
public places. The state law prohibits smoking in most enclosed workplaces including offices
and restaurants. Gambling clubs, bars and taverns are exempt until January 1, 1998 or until
state or federal regulatory agencies have set standards which limit the amount of smoke in these
areas to such a level that is found to e safe, whichever comes first (OCAT). This law was soon
passed and almost all restaurants and bars became non smoking for the public. An identical law
was passed in New York called the Smoke Free Act that banned smoking in almost all the
restaurants in the city (OCAT). Erie County, NY banned smoking in open air arenas, lobbies, and
all enclosed places of employment. Also, bars must limit their smoking section to only 20% of the
whole bar (OCAT). Limiting smoking in areas like bars and restaurants would lead to the
assumption that the business will also be limited. On the contrary though, researchers at Cornell
University found that a smokefree policy for restaurants attracts more business and revenue that it
drives away (Cornell). Contrary to belief, cutting out the smoking completely in some public
places had a more economically beneficial effect rather than a harmful one. Smokers seem to be
able to go smoke free in public areas to comply with the non smoker s point of view. Researchers

Domestic Atmosphere In King Henry V
King Henry V s depiction of English nationalism amidst its battle between France showcases the
glorification of war. However, despite the play s emphasis on combat and victory, King Henry V,
also presents a strong unification of the charater s seeking or protecting for what they call home.
For many of the play s characters, the domestic sphere represents an ideal space to which they
will return to or represent though their interactions. The domestic sphere intercedes onto the
battlefield providing context as to what the characters are fighting and dying for. The play s
commoners use the tavern as a domestic sphere which is a reoccurring setting for characters like
Pistol and Bardolph. It provides an ideal atmosphere for their interactions during times of peace as
the tavern also functions as the plays comic relief for Acts II and III in the play. For example, upon
entering the tavern, The Hostess makes reference that she does not house a dozen or fourteen
gentlewomen because then people would assume the establishment as a brothel which is then
interrupted with Nym unsheathing his sword (158 159). The whole scene deals... Show more

Through Acts I through IV, we can see instances of Henry s motivations for starting the war with
France as matters of pride or even Manifest Destiny. However, it is in Act V that we see the fruits
of Henry s labors as the reward for his siege on France is to marry the King s daughter which
fully integrates King Henry s life into the domestic sphere. King Henry s infaution of Katherine
which starts with O fair Katharine, if you will love me soundly with your French heart, I will be
glad to hear you confess it brokenly with your English tongue provides a strange contrast to Henry
s battle ready speeches of Act IV (352 353). Shortly after King Henry s romantic advances on

The World s Experience with Different Types of...
Throughout history the world has experienced several types of socio economies, from Mussolini
s fascism to Mao s communism. All of those economies have its weaknesses and strengths and
most have countries that can validate its effectiveness. Yet, only one economy has risen above
the rest. But before we could decide which economy is truly better for society, there has to be
criteria on which to judge the economy s effectiveness. First, what is a society? In essence, it is a
network of bonds we as human beings forge under the assumption, that working together we can
all be happier than if we were only looking out for ourselves. With society, everyone is able to
concentrate on what they do best, reap the benefits from the skills of others, and avoid the conflict
that would arise otherwise. Thus, it follows that the ultimate goal of society is to ensure the
happiness of everyone. And currently, only one economy has staved off the test of time and
reached that goal. Capitalism, with its merit system, flexible cost adjustments, and having no other
economic contenders is able to achieve a better society than any other socio economic system can.
By having an economic system that rewards merit rather than mediocrity, capitalism stimulates the
market as well as individuals to progress and innovate, thus improving the overall welfare of its
society. In a capitalist society, it is the people that produce that get rewarded. Entrepreneurs or
companies that come up with a new product,

Polyphemus Is An Improper Host Of Odysseus
The Odyssey written by Homer is a classic tale of Odysseus s lengthy journey home to Ithaca. The
story includes many positive and negative examples of proper behavior of a host to his guest. A
proper host would have three main qualities. These qualities are being respectful to their guest,
offering them a place to stay, and providing them with food. Odysseus, being the guest, has
encountered many hosts on his journey with very different personalities.
Polyphemus is a more negative and improper host with a bad quality of eating Odysseus s crew.
When Odysseus is first greeted by Polyphemus on a island home to cyclopes, two men of
Odysseus s crew are eaten and Odysseus and the rest are trapped with Polyphemus. The men
couldn t leave and became food for the cyclops. Eventually, they devised a plan to escape and
leave the island. Seeking revenge, Polyphemus asked his father, Poseidon, to make sure that
Odysseus never returns home. Polyphemus is not a very polite host eating and attacking his guests.

Summary
Reforming or limiting itemized tax deductions for individuals has gained the interest of
policymakers as one way to increase federal tax revenue, increase the share of taxes paid by higher

behavior. However, limits on deductions could cause adverse economic effects or changes in the

During a person s lifetime many of us pause to think what influence a person s identity. What makes us the individual that we are? I would say that it is our home, where we live with our parents and siblings. Why do we have trust in certain things? Why do we believe the way we do? I would say it is based on the way we were taught and raised a set of opinions that have been instilled in a person since they were young. I would say that their three great influences in my life that makes me who I am today my parents, my religion and my culture. Upbringing it has molded me into who I am today. Since I was growing up my parents taught me about showing respect to everyone especially our superiors. My parents always taught us that being a good citizen in your community always identifies the individual as a good person. My parents taught us that when two adults are having a conversation to never interrupt. When someone was talking and if you needed to walk through you would say excuse me. Never stealing what does not belong to you. Helping a person out when they do not have a place to stay. How to have patience with other people and learning that sometimes the best thing to do is just to be quiet. The brief amount of time after Tolstoy turned fifty, a critical spiritual crisis engulfed his life. His best pieces of work were behind him, and he found his sense of purpose draining as his celebrity and public acclaim weakened. He then began to sink into a deep state of depression and melancholia despite having a large property, excellent health, a family, and literary fame. Joan of Arc, nicknamed The Maid of OrlГ©ans , is viewed as a courageous woman of France for her part amid the Lancastrian period of the Hundred Years War, and was consecrated as a Roman Catholic Saint. While Joan of Arc is a major medieval religious figure she was clearly a huge advocate of violent bloodshed and she used religion to justify it. When Joan made her case to help France win the Hundred s years war she claimed that she was sent by God to assist England in the war, The King should not turn away from, or reject, the Pucelle, who says she has been sent by God (The Life of Joan Arc, 75). It is clear that Joan of Arc believes that England s war with France was part of God s will and that it was her duty to help assist her country in war. After convincing King Charles to help him in the Hundreds year war he sends her to the siege of Orleans as part of a relief mission. Joan of Arc s participation in the war boosted French moral leading to victory. Eventually Joan of Arc is captured and put on trial. While on trial Joan once again claims that she had visions of saints telling her to assist in the war, Item, this women says and confesses that she has paid reverence to these voices and spirits that she calls, Michael, Gabriel, Katherine and Margaret ( The Rouen Trial, 211). I liked it when Buck is at his house in Santa Clara California. I disliked it when Buck got beaten and mistreated. what stood out to me was when the people poked Buck with sticks. Also when the man in the red sweater beats Buck with a club. My opinion about chapter two is that it worse than chapter one. I hated it when Curly died when she was just trying to be nice. • 10. A Look into Psalms 119 Everyday millions of Americans read stories to their children before they go to bed. I often read Dr. Seuss books to my son Seth, who is four years old. He loves the rhythm and rimes that are those books. One of his favorites is Green Eggs and Ham. Seth has begun to answer the questions of Sam, answering him for the other character saying he does not like green eggs and ham . It caught my attention that some of the Psalmsalso have a repetitive nature. Psalm 119is the longest of all the Psalms and is very repetitive. Many people only read one section of the Psalm because of the repetitive nature and do not look at the chapter as a whole. There is a lack of churches teaching on the Psalms and some a not reading them at all. Psalm 119 is more than a long repetitive Psalm, reading it as one passage there is evidence of determination by the author to show why following the Lord s teaching is vital to life as a Christian. Comparison of three sections of Psalm 119 will show how the Psalm repeats the same theme throughout the work. This shows that the repetition is helpful in remembering the reason for follow God s laws. The first section is 119:1 8 and will show the message the psalmist trying to convey. The second section is 119:33 40 and this will show that God is our teacher and one way to learn is to follow God s instructions. The third section is 119:65 72 this conveys that life is found in the openness of God s instruction. All these sections together ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Cv Accident Or Stroke Essay CVA: Cerebrovascular accident or stroke A CVA is a neurologic emergency that occurs when a blood vessel carrying oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot (ischemic stroke) or bursts (hemorrhagic stroke). A CVA may also be referred to as a brain attack. As reported by Quick Reference to Occupational Therapy (2014), a physical exam of the patient leads the physician to suspect a CVA and to gauge impairments on a functional scale through confirmation from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), cerebral angiography, or electroencephalography (EEG). Blood tests for bleeding and clotting disorders may also be performed. Cardiac monitoring may show atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias (Reed, 2014). Etiology: There are 2 types of strokes: Hemorrhagic and Ischemic. A Hemorrhagic strokeis when a brain aneurysm bursts or a weakened blood vessel leaks. According to the National Stroke Association (2016), about 15% strokes are hemorrhagic strokes per year. It is the least common type of stroke, but most often results in death 40% of the time. When a hemorrhagic stroke occurs, blood spills into or around the brain, and creates swelling and pressure which then damages cells and tissue in the brain. There are 2 types of hemorrhagic strokes: an intracerebral hemorrhage happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts and spills into the surrounding brain tissue, damaging brain cells. This group wanders through the West leaving a trail of slaughtered people in their trail. The emptiness and ruthlessness of their hearts is reflected in the harsh and unforgiving landscape. McCarthy uses reoccurring themes of war, religion, and dance to paint a graphic picture of the savageness of life in the West. As men ordained on a mission, Glanton s Gang is paid to seek out the scalps of Apaches and return them to the Mexican town of Chihuahua City. Whatever Holden judges, it is not written law. It is an unwritten law, the law of death and evil. Judge Holden represents a demonic character, larger than life, with a cruel soul. The Imbecile, James Robert, exemplifies the Judge s god like power. Once the Judge rescues James from drowning and after a sort of mock baptism, the once wild man becomes docile and shadows the Judge s every movement. Judge Holden leading the imbecile around on a leash is similar to a king being followed by his fool. The imbecile is another creature the Judge controls by allowing to exist. One reason he allows the imbecile to live, while killing so many others, may be as a way to show his superiority to Glanton. While Glanton has a mere dog as a pet, the Judge has an actual human as a pet. Another example of Judge Holden s god like behavior occurs as he is pursuing the Kid and Tobin. Throughout the novel, whenever the Judge set out to accomplish a task, he succeeds. While the Kid is drinking water in the bone filled ravine, the Judge shoots at the Kid and misses. The Judge is an excellent marksman and has a clear shot. However, at this point, he allows the Kid to live. Instead of shooting to kill, the Judge s shot serves as a way to control the Kid; to maintain his suzerainty over the weakest member of the group. Judge Holden controls through destruction and pure evil, only he perseveres and triumphs, while others fail, including the Kid. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Literature Review Willis and Carmichael (2011) presented foundlings stating that attrition is defined by the experiences gathered in the doctoral study rather than the stage at which erosion occurs. The study share relevant similarities to previous research, indicating perverse experiences could lead to pessimistic outcomes regardless of the field or stage of the doctorate program (Willis and Carmichael, 2011). The theoretical foundations of this case study support the synthesis arguments of Hoskins and Goldberg (2005) that stated dissertation committee chair post a problematic negative impact on late stage doctoral attrition. Other scholars argue the results of the current research. Incomplete doctoral learners all assert how a problematic relationship with their dissertation chair played a significant role in their decision to leave the program (Willis and Carmichael, 2011). However, Willis and Carmichael (2011) identified the gap and addressed problems in the attrition decision. It is an interpretation of the facts of Jesus life with an emphasis of His deity (Hindson Towns, 2013, p. 342). The book of John first tells us about Jesus preexistence and that this child would be born unlike any other child and that child would not depend on a mother, but He would depend on His father; God. This book tells us about all the miracles that He did. He fed thousands with five loaves of bread and two fish, he healed a lame man, and calmed a storm. Then the book of John goes to tell us about Jesus being arrested and the trials that He went through. Also, about Pilate trying to release Him, but could not. It was made up that He was to be crucified. He then was crucified and to make sure that He was dead they pierced his side. In the last chapters of John, it tells us that Jesus was buried in a tomb and He lay there for three days. After the third day, the tomb had been opened and Jesus was gone. He had risen! Compare And Contrast Federalist And Federalists The ground of liberty is to be gained by inches, that we must be contented to secure what we can get from time to time, and eternally press forward for what is yet to get. It takes time to persuade men to do even what is for their own good, quoted by Thomas Jefferson on January 27, 1790. Around this time there were two political parties that are talked about throughout this paper, The Federalists and The Democratic Republican party. There were several problems occurring in the United States of America around the 1790 s, due to the fact that George Washington resigned from presidency and didn t choose to run for a third four year term. Around this time Washington worried that the nation will split from political parties emerging trying to elect a new president and vice president. There are two major political parties emerging, Federalist and the Democratic Republican party, these two parties had differing views on The Constitution, ideal people, government, and foreign policy position. These two parties do represent, and they do not represent the Democratic Party and the Republican Party of today. Our government today follows some of each sides views today. I think that it doesn t matter what kind of job you have or what ethnicity you are to be president, unlike the Federalist and the Democratic Republican party. The Government chooses bits and pieces of there ideal views, and that s how they run the government today. I do favor parts of the Federalist Party, and the Democratic Republican Party today. I like how the Democratic Republican Party had farmers as some of there people because today we don t run off large scale manufacturing, and large scale manufacturing only, we use small farms to help produce products for the whole entire world. Alexander Hamiltonheaded one these parties known as the Federalists, he was followed by George Washington, John Adams, and Charles Pinckney. Although Washington tried to stay neutral and not pick a side of the political parties he favored the Federalists, because they were loyal to the government. Hamilton had views of wealthy, well born aristocracy, based of their birth, wealth, and status as his people. Hamilton truly believed that people are basically selfish, and ... These cells recognize antigens (epi topes or tumor antigens) using protein known as T cells receptor TCR which is heterodimer and is consisted of an alpha (О±) and beta (ОІ) chains. The fully matured T cells population expressing О±ОІ T cells receptors (TCR) composed of the T cells which expresses CD4 or CD8, and the CD4 or CD8 ОіОґ expressing T cells receptor cells. The specificity of the CD4+ and CD8+ T cells is directed by the expression of the co receptors, CD4 and CD8. Therefore, TCRs are unable to target tumor antigens such as carbohydrate or lipid antigens. However, genetically modified T cells expressing CARs (chimeric antigen receptors) avoid the TCRs limitation and can recognize intact antigen i.e. cell surface proteins, carbo hydrate and lipid tumor antigen. Moreover, tumor can also down regulation expression of HLA. The T cells expressing CARs can be used regardless of the HLA types in adaptive T cells therapy. Interaction of the unique О±ОІ TCR of the T cells to the specific antigen presented on either class I or II MHC molecule of antigen presenting cells (APCs) result in the activation of the T cells. This type of activation is called Signal 1 , which is not sufficient for optimal activation and proliferation of the T cells. Therefore, an optimal activation and proliferation requires an additional co stimulatory signal 2 , provided by CD28 molecules on the surface of the APCs. The Problems Of Unintended Pregnancies PROBLEMS OF UNINTENDED PREGNANCIES The United States citizens (especially women) have one of the least access to healthcare and worst health outcomes among developed countries in the world despite the US spending about two and a half times higher on health care per person than any other developed country in the world (Flynn, 2013). The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA, 2013) and the Organization for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD, 2016) report similar data. This is reflected in the country s disproportionately high unintended pregnancy rate (about half of all pregnancies are unintended), high teenage pregnancy and high maternal mortality rates (Fig 1, Table 1). Adverse maternal and child health outcomes such as delayed pre natal care, premature birth, negative physical and mental health effects for children are some of the implications for unintended pregnancies (Guttmacher, 2016). Poor access to contraceptives translates directly to high unintended pregnancy rate which in turn leads to poor health outcomes for women and children. There are multiple ways to find the molar mass of a substance experimentally; one way is to use Freezing Point Depression by using the following equation: О”T= kf*m (Robinson, 2018). The purpose of this lab was to do just that; measure the freezing point depression of a solution when a solute is added to a solvent, and from that, determine the molar mass of an unknown substance, along with learning about the influence that solutes have on liquid properties. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Colligative properties, such as boiling point and freezing point, are dependent on the amount of solutes added, not necessarily their identities (LibreTexts, 2018). A fascinating concept related to freezing points is Supercooling. Supercooling is a state where liquids do not form ice even when they reach temperatures below their normal freezing point; they are trapped in a metastable state (Esrf.eu, 2018). The best example of this is clouds at high altitudes: they contain tiny droplets of water that do not have seed crystals, and therefore do not form ice despite the low temperatures (Esrf.eu, 2018). The concept of freezing point depression is applicable in many parts of everyday life. The most common example of freezing point depression is in the salting of roads when it snows (Kimbrough, 2006). As the melting of the first flakes on the warm road occurs, a solution of salty water is created which has a lower freezing point than pure snow (Kimbrough, 2006). Now, the temperature will not get cold enough to freeze the salty solution the way it can freeze water, keeping ice and snow from bonding to the pavement (Kimbrough, 2006). • 42. Georg Ferdinand, Philipp Cantor Georg Ferdinand Ludwig Philipp Cantor was born on March 3, 1845 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. His father, Georg Waldemar Cantor, was a successful merchant working as a wholesaling agent, then later found another job as a broker in the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange. Georg s father was born in Denmark and had a deep passion for culture and arts. His mother, Maria Anna BГ¶hm, was from Russia and very musical. Georg inherited his love for music and arts from his parents, considering he was a wonderful violinist. Georg was brought up as Protestant, which was his father s religion, but his mother was a Roman Catholic. Georg had a private tutor for a while until he attended a primary school in St. Petersburg. In 1856, his family moved to Germany because of his father s poor health to stay away from Russia s rough winters and to find warmer weather. Georg was never happy with the move but made the most out of it. They first moved to Wiesbaden, Germany than later moved to Frankfurt, where Georg studied at the Realschule in Darmstadt. In 1860, Georg graduated with a distinction from Realschule as an outstanding student in mathematics, especially trigonometry. In 1862, Georg asked his father for permission to study mathematics and was thrilled when his father consented and entered University of ZГјrich, but that was all cut short when his father passed a year later in 1863. The first supernatural account defiantly makes agreeing with the opening statement easy as there are so many ways that Peter Quint s first sitting could be interpreted. Firstly and most obviously, as the unknown narrator made clear that this was a ghost story, as just that a supernatural occurrence. Peter Quint had a tie to Bly. He was the valet and as alluded to by Mrs Grose in the early chapter he liked his girls nice and young. He would defiantly continue the corruption of the children. Or this could be a fragment of the governess s reality in two ways. Firstly to construct some sort of evil to protect her charges from, so she could assume the role of saviour and hero to impress her employer or it could be because the governess was fantasising about seeing someone around the grounds , hopefully her employer , her desire for a master makes us question the authenticity of this apparition. Her mind may have fabricated him as a desire of sexual desire. The emotional response to these elements of an ad are important to attaining the interest of a targeted audience and connecting the rhetorical appeal to visualization. • 45. John Locke Second Practice Of Government In this essay, I will argue that the Lockean theory does justify indigenous people s moral right to engage in armed rebellions for the purpose of overthrowing the governments of Canada and the United States of America. I will defend this thesis by arguing that both settler states are illegitimate as their abuse of power beyond their right/authority over the natives nations lead to wrongful appropriation of territory and failure in recognizing the natives form of governance as one of a political community. To justify the appropriation of native land, Lock s theory of propertybecame very important, morally speaking, for the settlers states. However, because John Lockehad vested interests in the Europeans North American settling, his views... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, in John Locke s theory of property, there was a right of settlement for anyone who wanted to control the forest and improve its productivity. However, Locke also wrote in his work, Second Treatise of Government , that one appropriating land through its improvement must leave enough and as good for others (chapter 5, Sect. 27). In the context of Europeans settling on hunting ground, it would mean that native people were left as well off as they were before the settlements. Clearly, Locke s proviso was violated as natives found themselves worse off because of European settlements. Indeed, because most settlements were on hunting land, it had a direct and negative impact on the indigenous people s living conditions. As demonstrated in the previous paragraph, Locke failed to recognize the indigenous people s political community, therefore granting them legal authority over land. It is true that native people did not have the typical European political system they did not have the original three powers of a government (legislative/executive/judicial) which John Locke considered, in his newly narrow perspective of forming a political community, to be very important in recognizing a civil society. I submit another overriding interpretation of John Locke s theory of social contract, which is that the very purpose of the government is more important than the political organization of the government itself. Indeed, Locke s theory of constitution government revolves around how the states should be organized, while his theory of social contract determine explicitly what makes government legitimate. As previously demonstrated above, it is true that the native form of leadership did not have the typical European separation of power. Notwithstanding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adolf Hitlerand Germany caused one of the largest death tolls and most well known genocide in history, which is known now as the holocaust. My reaction to the Second Generation to Holocaust Survivors: Enhanced Differentiation of Trauma Transmission. written by, Micha Weiss and Sima Weiss is that those poor, innocent people were killed or scarred for life for something they cannot control. I feel awful for all those kids and young people who had to live the rest of their lives out after experiencing their parents be killed or starved to death and seeing all those other people around them being killed. I also feel angry that Germany let this happen, and not only let this happen, but supported Hitler s decision to kill off millions of people and treated them so unfairly. Based on standard BOD measurement, the oxygen demand measured is usually influenced by the following three (3) phenomena: I.Oxygen demand by breakdown of soluble carbonaceous matter. II.Oxygen demand by breakdown of suspended particulate carbonaceous matter. III.Oxygen demand by oxidation of ammonia to nitrate by nitrifying bacteria present in the effluent sample. After undergoing biological treatment in the secondary reactor, residual soluble carbonaceous BOD matter present in the effluent reduces in concentration to below 15 mg/L. Subsequently, nitrifying bacteria populations tend to grow rapidly feeding on ammonia which is present in the partially treated sewage. Nitrification may not be complete at levels of 5 mg/l of residual soluble carbonaceous biodegradable matter. It depends on whether sufficient oxygen is available for the oxidation of ammonia to nitrate. Hence, all BOD5 measurements shall adopt nitrification inhibition step to ensure that the carbonaceous oxygen demand is reflected accurately in the overall BOD measurement. 3.3HEAVY METALS (AAS) The term heavy metal refers to any metallic chemical element that has a relatively high density and is toxic or poisonous at low concentrations. The motivations were various and complex, from trying to advance from social dissipation to trying to supplement the education that was denied to them as children. However, as illustrated by eighteenth century French theologian and moralist, Jacques Joseph Duget, there was a perception of frivolous and licentious salon women in the seventeenth century corrupting society, particularly by feminizing men. Salons in the eighteenth century had evolved from this, now trying to revive society through the philosophes Republic of Letters. The salons were reclaimed from aristocracy and utilized by the philosophes as a space of collaboration and intellectual exchange, fostering Enlightenment ideas, particularly egalitarianism. Salons were characterized by the acknowledged equality among the participants as well as the birth of intellectual practice as a valuable interest. The serious tone of the salon as a workspace provided philosophes with the environment necessary to spread the ideals of the Enlightenment, including the involvement of women in the enlightened community. For many of the play s characters, the domestic sphere represents an ideal space to which they will return to or represent though their interactions. The domestic sphere intercedes onto the battlefield providing context as to what the characters are fighting and dying for. The play s commoners use the tavern as a domestic sphere which is a reoccurring setting for characters like Pistol and Bardolph. It provides an ideal atmosphere for their interactions during times of peace as the tavern also functions as the plays comic relief for Acts II and III in the play. • 53. The World s Experience with Different Types of... Throughout history the world has experienced several types of socio economies, from Mussolini s fascism to Mao s communism. All of those economies have its weaknesses and strengths and most have countries that can validate its effectiveness. Yet, only one economy has risen above the rest. But before we could decide which economy is truly better for society, there has to be criteria on which to judge the economy s effectiveness. First, what is a society? In essence, it is a network of bonds we as human beings forge under the assumption, that working together we can all be happier than if we were only looking out for ourselves. With society, everyone is able to concentrate on what they do best, reap the benefits from the skills of others, and avoid the conflict that would arise otherwise. Thus, it follows that the ultimate goal of society is to ensure the happiness of everyone. And currently, only one economy has staved off the test of time and reached that goal. Capitalism, with its merit system, flexible cost adjustments, and having no other economic contenders is able to achieve a better society than any other socio economic system can. By having an economic system that rewards merit rather than mediocrity, capitalism stimulates the market as well as individuals to progress and innovate, thus improving the overall welfare of its society.
