All reports are broadly organized in three sections:
1. Preliminary matter
2. Text
3. Back matter
PRELIMINARY MATTER REQUIREMENT
The preliminary matter consists of the title page, acknowledgements, table of contents, list
of tables, list of figures etc. Preliminary pages are paginated separately from the rest of the text.
Proper order of preliminary pages:
1. Title page
2. Acknowledgements
3. Table of contents
4. List of tables (if tables appear in the document)
5. List of figures ( if tables appear in the document)
6. Abbreviations
Title page
The title page is the first page of report
1. Title ……. ALL CAPS (not more than two lines)
2. Margin – top – 1.”, Bottom – 1” , Left – 1.25” Right – 1”
3. Type face consistent with main text ( New Times Roman)
4. Spell out all acronyms in full
5. Correct month and year
Acknowledgements
1. not more than one page
2. consistent type face and size
3. margin same as other pages

1. Use A4 size- 60gm - white paper
2. No boarder or line
3. Use only black ink
4. Margin – top – 1”, Bottom – 1.25” , Left – 1.” Right – 1”
5. Line spacing 1.5
6. Include signature of the student at the bottom of the acknowledgements
7. Use i, ii, etc as page number for preliminary page
8. Use 1, 2 etc from Introduction chapter
9. Do not use personal pronoun such as I , we, you, my , our, and us
10. Do not use titles such as Dr, Professor, Dean when you have to quote authorities.
11. Never use slang
