Sophie Madeleine Germain Research Paper
Sophie Germain was fiercely independent and intelligent throughout her life. She is an inspiration
to women in mathematics due to her courage, determination, and love for the subject. She fought
to make a name for herself in the world of mathematics during a time when it was dominated by
men. Her constant persistence and devotion lead to many great mathematical findings and
discoveries. She was instrumental in the field of number theory. but also contributed a theory of
elasticity and made great contributions to what we know about prime numbers. The life of Sophie
Germain began in Paris, France on April 1st, 1776. This was about a decade before the French
Revolution began and a century after the Scientific Revolution. She was born into the family of
merchants of Marie Madeleine Germain and Ambroise FranТ«ois Germain. She... Show more

historical timeline of the French Revolution (1789 1799), tensions were high among French
citizens. Her father was very politically involved and concerned about his money during this
period of time. As a young girl, she felt her family was too obsessive over politics and money.
She found a sanctuary within her father s library away from the political tensions at the time. In
her father s library, Sophie was able to satisfy her intellectual curiosity and hunger for knowledge.
At age 13, she discovered her love for mathematics while reading in his library. She scoured for and

Neoliberalism In Canada
Introduction Unions have a long and sometimes contentious history in Canada, although they are
also the source of many of the labour laws and standards that we have come to accept as normal.
However, since the 1980s, an increasing trend towards favouring neoliberal policies has erased
many of the social welfare and employment standards gains by unions, with particularly harsh
effects on more vulnerable populations including women, immigrants, younger workers, and
Aboriginal peoples. A striking example of these shifts is seen in the restaurant sector in B.C.,
where recent controversies with Canada s temporary foreign worker program has at least brought
some discussions of worker s rights to the headlines in regional and national newspapers.
Unfortunately, despite this new attention the current political climate continues to be hostile to
workers groups and to workers rights. Changes: Neoliberalism in Theory and Practice in Canada
and British Columbia Neoliberalism is a direct descendent of 19th century liberalism and was
explicitly intended to re create laissez faire conditions for markets in the 20th century (Hayter and
Barnes 200). In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

vigorously to the market imperative of Fordism, in that businesses must find ways to make labour
more flexible (Vidal 590), meaning that part time, temporary, and contract workers fear for their

Personal Narrative Of Josiah Harlan
1.Central Asia: Personal Narrative of Josiah Harlan
a.Josiah Harlan, an American famous for his adventures in India and Afghanistan, writes about
the social situation of Afghanistan in the early 1800s. He has extensive notes about Hazara
culture, although his writings are clearly affected by prejudiced racial and religious attitudes
common in the West at the time. He certainly expresses his disapproval of Islamic ways, so his
observations may not be fully reliable, but his observations of Hazarajat allow me to reconstruct
the religious life of the Hazaras in this time period, albeit with some possible error due to his bias.

This book provides historical information about Hazara Mujahideen groups and political parties
from the 1980s to present. The author suggests that these parties have strong Iranian ties due to
similar religious beliefs. He essentially suggests that the parties are in complete harmony with Iran.
I plan to show that these parties exercised significant degrees of autonomy and were not merely
Iranian puppets.
4.Guardians of Shi ism

Ayatollahs. He shows how these institutions form international networks for the scholars who found
them. I plan to expand on this idea, showing how these organizations in turn produce international
networks for their members. That is to say, I plan to show how Shiites, Hazaras specifically, use
these networks to form international relationships for various purposes, including increasing aid
work in Afghanistan and creating contacts with Hazaras across the world.

Titanic Thesis Statement
The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about
everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has
been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows
that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been
used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port
holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is
100% true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true. Everyone knows the story
of the Titanic. The ship was on its maiden voyage when it hit an iceberg and sank, leading to the
death of more than 1,500 people ( Titanic A+E Networks). It was a horrible event, but it may have
all been planned by the company that owned the ship. White Star Lineowned both the Titanic and its

Anne Bradstreet To My Dear And Love Husband
The poet speaks to her husband, celebrating their unity and saying that there is no man in the
world whose wife loves him more. If there was ever a wife more happy with her husband, the poet
asks those women to compare themselves to her. She prizes her husband s love more than gold or
the riches of the East. Rivers cannot quench her loveand no love but his can ever satisfy her. There
is no way she can ever repay him for his love. She believes they should love each other so much
that when they die, their love will live on.Analysis: Anne Bradstreet s passionate love poems to

Men and women married young and were expected to remain together until they died. Puritan
society did not tolerate divorce or adultery, although cases of both are certainly present in the
historical record. Husbands and wives were supposed to adhere to the Biblical definition of marriage
, which emphasized mutual love and respect. However, Puritans were not supposed to place all of
their efforts in the relationship on Earth, but rather, to glorify God through their union. As the Poetry
Foundation s page on Bradstreet explains, marriage was very important and the focus on family
was crucial; however, the love between wife and husband was not supposed to distract from
devotion to God. In Bradstreet s sonnets, her erotic attraction to her husband is central, and these
poems are more secular than religious. Robert J. Richardson writes that the development in To My
Dear and Loving Husband is clear and logical. The poet s husband loves her so much that in order
to find something that equals it, she must turn her sights Heavenward. The lovers union in Heaven
is the outcome of their Earthly love which is an emblem of what awaits the

Irony in Good Country People
Irony in Good Country People
Flannery O Connor uses characterization, and the themes of good versus evil and the
psychological and physical problems of the characters, to create irony in the story. The
characterization of both Mrs. Hopewell and Joy/Hulga creates irony, which begins with
their names. Then the theme of good versus evil, demonstrated by the belief that
country people are good , also creates irony.
The story is about a farm owner, Mrs. Hopewell, her only daughter Joy/Hulga, and a

A Room Of One s Own, By Alice Walker
Throughout the history, great minds have encountered each other. They are distinct musical notes,
but by chance, they come across and create a beautiful harmony. However, such beautiful harmony
is rare, for it is difficult to find two distinct minds that have the same ideas, emotion, and vision.
Nevertheless, Virginia Woolfand Alan Walker are a demonstration of such encounter, for they have
the same purpose of fighting for women rights. In particular, A Room of One s Own , written by
Virginia Woolf, and In Search of Our Mothers Gardens , written by Alice Walker. Although these
essays are written half century apart, they sing the same song as women artists have sung for
centuries; the song of their sorrow and suffering. Thus, In Search... Show more content on

considered the intellectual superior of all the women and most of the men in the society of her

not been black. To support her reason, she writes, a highly gifted girl who had tried to use her gift

lash, the ownership of one s body by someone else, submission to an alien religion ], that she must
have lost her health and sanity to a certainty (Woolf qtd in Walker, 166). Walker quotes this
segment to show the effect of contrary instincts (Woolf 35), but she adds her own words to
emphasize that the hardships of black women were more significant. Thus, she implies that the
legacy of African American women is more precious than white

Project Plan And Workflow For Complete The Final Video
Project Methodology:
In this chapter, I present the project plan and workflow I used to complete the final video. In the
last part I discuss other software programs used to accomplish other tasks in the post production
stage.
Production Workflow:
The process to complete the insertion of a CG into a life footage is the same as a media production
workflow. The matchmoving process is part of an animation workflow which is part of the
production
workflow. To achieve the final footage there is need to incorporate inherit workflows together.
Video Production Workflow:
To create a film, the process need to follow the basis of the media production workflow.

I decided to combine the production workflow and the basic matchmoving workflow so as to
accommodate
changes during the project. In figure1 below it shows a basic animation production workflow with
the
corresponding video production stages and figure2 is a basic matchmove workflow with the
different
production stages. The incorporation of CG into a live footage involves a large scale of processes.
Figure 3: A basic Matchmove workflow showing production stages.
In a simple VFX scene, the animator is responsible for the 3D creation, a visual artist is
responsible for the composite and the key role is played by the matchmover who create the CG
camera
from the real camera and ensure others have the generated CG scene to work with. The
matchmoving
usually happens early in the production workflow.
Figure 4: Adapted Workflow for the project.
I was able to derive this workflow for the insertion of the 3D into the live action footage. The
production is divided into 3 stages as a normal video production process.
Pre Production: I decided to have this into 2 stages. The first stage was a plan of the video
sequence plot.

Death Versus Death By Emily Dickinson

Death versus Death but the Points go to Dickinson
Emily Dickinson was born in a time when not many women involved themselves in poetry or
any form of intellectual capability. Despite this, she was such a wonderful poet that her poetry
rivaled Whitman s. Of course, she was never able to rival him because she chose not to publish
her poetry in her lifetime. Once the world saw her poetry, however, it was shocked by the literary
genius who had lived in seclusion for a good majority of her life. Her style is very distinguishable
through it is excessive but purposeful punctuation and 8 6 8 6 rhyme that matches church songs and
patriotic songs like Amazing Grace and Glory to God on High. The church influenced more than
her style, however, as much of her subject matter pertains to her unorthodox beliefs. Other subjects
include hope and sometimes humor, but her ideas on death are both very interesting and
complicated. Dickinson does not make light of death, but she uses her poems as her diary to
record her thoughts on death. She moves rapidly from thinking death is passive to thinking it is an
amazing honor, but she also thinks of it in a terrified sense. Emily Dickinson s views on death are
uncertain, she varies between finding death casual, positive and romantic, and negative in a series
of several poems
Many people may fear death, but Emily Dickinson sometimes expressed in her

How Does Milgram Study Unethical
Milgram on Ethics A Study on Where Milgram Crossed the Line Kyle Froerer Weber State
University Upon researching Milgram s study more in depth and weighing the opinions of those
who feel it is an ethical study versus those in opposition I add my opinion to those who feel the
experiment was an unethical practice. This paper will explain more of why I feel this way. I will
also provide four peer reviewed sources supporting my argument. The first reason I find it to be
unethical is because of the ways in which subjects were lured into participating in the study. Certain
people could say they volunteered but that would require they not be compensated for their efforts
in any way. Each participant was financially compensated with $4.50 which is the equivalent of
about $25.00 to today s currency (Dollar Times, 2008). Because none of the participants were truly
volunteers their actions and subsequent test results must not be considered ethically accurate when
comparing them to society in general. Continuing on, the setting in which the participants were
observed was a foreign setting all with employing behaviors unique to that of a scientist (Baurimd,
1964). Now, coupling the foreign setting, strange behaviors and the fact they have been paid with
the principle of participant obedience, it can be assumed that all these attributes mixed together
would result in an overly obedient test subject. To accurately study the baseline for the principle of
obedience in

Bluegrass Influence On American Culture
In 1970, a New Zealand bluegrass band based out of the University of Auckland recorded a
bluegrass cover of James Taylor s Carolina in My Mind. As the unofficial state anthem of North
Carolina and more broadly associated with the American South, it is seen as one of many songs
that have established the South s sense of place. The song, which has a strong sense of geographic
place was used by the New Zealand group, the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band to connect to a
rural American bluegrass tradition by associating music with place. As consumers of American
culture, bluegrass artists in New Zealand adopted bluegrass and its associated traditions in an
attempt to match the authentic Southern ness of artists such as Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs.
Arriving with the folk revival in the 1960s, bluegrass became a tool to preserve a rural past that
was being challenged by urban growth.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this urban growth, the central place of the countryside in New Zealand s national identity
continued. How was bluegrass used to assert rural identity in an increasingly urban nation? Music
and entertainment based on country life were very popular in the mid twentieth century. The
Hamilton County Bluegrass Band was featured on the weekly music television show The Country
Touch, where audience members sat on hay bales on a barn set, square dancers performed and
songs were sung about the good old days. Bluegrass in New Zealand is a unique example of musical
transnationalism. Through the process of cultural consumption, bluegrass artists asserted New
Zealand s rural identity by adopting a distinctly Southern bluegrass

Prejudice And Racism In The 21st Century
Laurell Hamilton once said, There is no light without dark, no good without evil, no male without
female, no right without wrong... Nothing can exist if its direct opposite does not also exist.
Meaning that, in this world, there are individuals capable of both wholehearted goodness and
obscene hatred. Throughout time, there have always been attitudes of racism, but also of kindness,
thereby leading to the conclusion that we are all simply a product of our environments. In a world
where everyone has loved and hated, where do you stand? Over the years, humans have developed
a culture of hatred and racism, rooted in underlying fear, towards those who are different than
themselves. For example, in Views From Inside an American Concentration... Show more content

heinous, though when he was forced into an environment built on equality, his entire personality

inmates were forced to endure transformed them from caring, protective people into ruthless
individuals who were willing to stoop to any means necessary in order to ensure their own survival.
These people s entire demeanor was altered by the environment they lived in during the holocaust,

dentist twice a year, more if he or she recommends it.
Don t smoke or drink alcohol. Drinking too much alcohol may cause oral or throat cancer, and
using alcohol and tobacco together increases the chance of these diseases.
Chew sugar free gum and drink lots of water to keep salvia flowing. Lack of saliva, often caused
by medications seniors take, can cause dry mouth. Dry mouth increases the chance of developing
mouth cancer. Seniors should let their dentist know if they have loose or painful teeth, bleeding
gums or lumps, bumps or swelling. During a dental appointment, the dentist will check dentures or

Irony In Mark Twain s The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn
Comedy as a genre has a purpose of amusing audiences in literature. Born in ancient Greece in 6th
century BCE (before common era), comedy was utilized to make fun of politicians, philosophers,
and artists(). Today, the evolution of literature expresses various ideas and emotions represented
through comedy. Authors use comedy in literature to allow audiences to receive messages in a
lighthearted manner.
Authors of children s books apply comedy to their work with an underlying moral lesson. Dr.
Theodor Seuss Geisel, famously known as Dr. Seuss, wrote books that taught children life lessons

According to Dictionary.com, irony is defined as a technique of indicating, as through character
or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly
stated. Authors use comedy to express irony in way way that readers will understand. Mark
Twain manipulates comedy and irony and creates characters identical to Miss Watson in
Huckleberry Finn. Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn follows Huck Finn in Missouri
getting civilized by Miss Watson and an unnamed widow. Huck has just come into some money

Analysis Of While The City Sleeps
While the City Sleeps is a dramatic film from 1956 based on a real life serial killer nicknamed
The Lipstick Killer. The screenplay was written by Casey Robinson and loosely follows the
book The Bloody Spur, written by Charles Einstein. By using gender criticism as a critical
approach to analyzing, I hope to show, as authors Kennedy and Gioia state in Literature: An
Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, and Drama, how the images of men and women in imaginative
literature , in this case, film, reflect the social forces that have historically kept the sexes from
achieving total equality . The book by Einstein tells the story of William George Heirens, the
man accused of the murders of two women and one young girl in 1945 and 1946. He was known as
the Lipstick Killer because he wrote a message with lipstick on the wall of his second victims
apartment. He eventually confessed to the murders and spent 65 years in prison, Chicago s
longest serving inmate. He died in 2012 at the age of 83; ill with diabetes and in a wheelchair.
Years earlier he had recanted his confession and stated that he had been a victim of coercive
interrogation and police brutality. There is one scene in the movie where the police are
interrogating a janitor who was a suspect in the murders, who worked at the apartment of the first
victim. In the movie, the police have held him for four days under constant interrogation. This

Prison Reform in The United States of America It is said that no one truly knows a nation until

behind bars than any other country on the planet. The prisons are at over double capacity. It cost a

The perplexing thing is that many of these States are willing to spend vast amounts of money to
house prisoners for many years but will spend less than half on education. Because over a quarter of
the prisoners incarcerated are there from drug related offenses, then it seems like the states could
save a lot of money if drug policies were geared towards rehabilitation instead of incarceration.
Overall they would be able to save billions of dollars. The demographics of the prison population in
America are very discouraging with a very high unbalanced proportion of the prison population
being African American. Although approximately 12% to 13% of the American population is
African American, African Americans make up over 40% of the prison population. This number is
so unusually disproportionate that many critics believe that the African American community is
judged harsher than it would the Hispanics or the Caucasians. The same critics also believe that it
is because many of the policies related to incarceration were designed specifically to target the
African American community. Mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses were directly
targeted towards these communities. Much of the time drug enforcement officers go into the

even take this necessity away. In the United States of America, despite all of its flaws, gives her
citizens these basic rights. Some of these rights are the freedom of speech, freedom of religion,
freedom to petition the government, right to bear arms, and civil trial by jury. Many countries,
unfortunately, do not even give their residents these rights. Being American means that we are not
restricted by one religion, raceor culture. Although we may not support some religions or
appreciate specific races, we allow them to live in our country and provide asylum from any
problem they may have. Many countries are centered... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
America doesn t use any religion as a basis for governing or in the court of law. We live under an
innocent until proven guilty policy and that makes everything much more neat and organized.
Culture doesn t play too big of a part in our society either. Although we are often mocked for not
having our own culture, America is chock full of cultures. As Americans, we are allowed to
embrace various cultures: Indian, Chinese, African, etc.. In many countries around the world,
transracial marriage is often frowned upon, whereas here it is the social norm. Families are
multiracial and their offspring are encouraged to embrace different cultures. We are known as a
melting pot

In our view, sensors are the magic of the IoT. The sensor market is enormous, with Analog Devices
estimating it to approach $100 billion annually, much of which is not related to semiconductors at
all. The sensor market applicable to semiconductor vendors includes micro electromechanical
systems (MEMS) based sensors, optical sensors, ambient light sensors, gesture sensors, proximity
sensors, touch sensors, fingerprint sensors and more. These chips effectively detect changes in the
environment, creating the information that is ultimately transmitted via a wireless chip and

The major application for automotive MEMS is for sensing when to deploy airbags. In this
market MEMS sensors are replacing sensors such as fiber optic gyroscopes and ring laser
gyroscopes. Additional applications are in electronics stability control, tire pressure measurement
and, going forward, using the sensor to track location while in a structure such as a parking garage
where a GPS signal cannot reach.
Of course air deployment is not really something that can be categorized as part of the Internet
of Things. However, the connected car seems to be a reality that is approaching rapidly. Once
the car is connected to the Internet via one of the wireless technologies mentioned here or one
that is coming specifically for automobiles, and software like iOS or Android gets installed, we
expect the car to see a significant increase in the use of the sensor information. For example, the
MEMS sensor could indicate that a tire is flat and then with location based services, a nearby
garage could be suggested. Similarly, the adoption of MEMS into the car to determine position
while satellites cannot reach the GPS can also be used to tie into location based services. Also,
airbag deployment and associated g force readings from the MEMS accelerometer taken during a
car crash could send a signal to local emergency services to send police and an ambulance. The six

This research is aimed at providing knowledge of coping skills for victims of early sexual abuse.
Poor coping skills, such as avoidance has been demonstrated to exacerbate the impact of childhood

Analysis Of The Letter To His Father
Franz Kafka wrote this Letter to his Father in November 1919, but it was never delivered. After
writing the letter by hand, he got it typed, and it is not known whether he wanted the contents of
the letter to reach the public eye at the time of writing or not. When Kafka asked his friend Max
Brod to destroy his writings at his death, and Max Brods refusal to do so brought them to the world,
this letter too was part of what he received, which was eventually published in its entirety in 1953.
The Letter to his Father is a multi generic exercise in that it couples autobiography with the form of
the letter, and relies on the strategies of the familychronicle to present perspectives on both the
speaker and the subject through an ironic, critical lens. This letter is also one of the most
accessible documentary that we have on Kafka himself, whose self scrutiny and analysis off his
own situation as a sonoffers us insights into the way he saw his growth as an individual in
circumstance that he considered difficult. As a literary example, on the other hand, the latter makes
use of several conventions such as first person narratorial voice (for the impression of authenticity),
anecdote (for historical contextualization), and flashback (for reference). At the same time, the
letter is a long document with a focussed subject where the addressee (his father) is as much the
occasion for the writing, as he is the protagonist whose and mode of functioning form part of what
Kafka deals

Representation is the construction and aspects of reality in any medium, especially mass media. It
can be presented in speech, writing, still and moving pictures. For my research investigation I will
be analysing the representation of masculinity in music magazines, and will do this by studying
the codes and conventions that cause the representation of masculinity ion two magazines. These

This large and bold text catches the eye of the audience and will therefore be the first thing that
people will recognise the magazine by. In addition to this, the strap lines, placed variously around
the main image, allow the audience to gain more information about the issue and its content. An
example of this would be Tom Clark VS. Faris Rotter which grabs the audience s attention and the
fact that the names are of two men gains the appeal of men as they can immediately relate to them.
By using the word VS also gives the impression of fighting and violence, which is known to be a
very masculine tendency as it relates to dominance and control, two things men aspire to become.
The Marxist concept of hegemonic masculinity states that the man should have; Physical force and
control, occupational achievement, familial patriarchy, frontiersman ship and heterosexuality .
NME is very powerful and well known in the music industry, especially the indie genre of it, Indie

Essay On Territorial Issues In New France
Yes. New France was doomed to fail. The issues in New France from 1608 to 1663 divide up
into three categories; Economic issues, Territorial Issues and Political Issues. Economic issues are
mainly based on the fur trade, Territorial Issues are mainly based on the trading posts, colonies
and the land wars between the English and Political Issues are mainly established on the lack of
people in New Francecompared to the English. French presence in North America was marked by
economic exchanges with Aboriginal people, but also by conflicts, as the French attempted to

Even though New France had big territory, they didn t have enough people to fill it up with. The
English population was three times bigger than the French population. This meant that the
English had a bigger, stronger army. The French population was favored by the trading
companies, merchants and the coureurs des bois, they mainly consisted of men and a few
immigrants whereas the English was favored by farmers, religious orders, soldiers, French
government administrators and they had a growing population which was evenly divided between
men and women, immigration being encouraged. Since the church had a lot of power, being
favored by religious was important. After, in 1615, the first French missionaries came to Quebec
in large numbers and they began to convert the Natives into Christianity. Later on in 1634,
Champlain sent Laviolette to set up a post further west. The post was called Trois Riviere. It
became a very important fur trading post. Two more missionaries were sent there to convert

Evaluating Kamil s Instructional Level And Needs
The examiner conducted several assessments in order to determine Kamil s instructional level and
needs in the area of decoding, attitude about reading as well as his ability to comprehend and retell
a text. The information derived from the series of assessments has helped plan for meaningful
instruction, which in the opinion of examiner will meet Kamil s instructional needs and support the
increase of motivation towards reading. Below are the recommendations for each area of the
instructional need.
Attitude about Reading The Motivation to Read Profile survey reveals that Kamil feels good as
a reader and he has a positive attitude towards reading. He also seems to read books which he
chooses by himself and which are mostly comic books. Therefore, it is important to improve
Kamil s motivation and engagement in choosing various genres of literature in order to expose
him to the complex nature of English language. One way to increase Kamil s desire to reach for
a wide variety of books is implementing activity titled Three piece Kits (Edmunds Bauserman,
2006). The teacher creates a three piece kit containing three different types and/or genres of books
in a bag. The kit should contain a narrative text, a poem and an expository book on a topic Kamil
finds interesting. For example, Kamil s teacher can collect an autobiography/narrative book titled
Knucklehead, a collection of war poems and an informational book about World War I/II. Kamil

as foreign governments, NGOs, civil society participants, as well as other actors implicated either in

(Chanthavong, 2002). When it comes to how Mars can help solve this issue, they must continue to
finance and support cooperative efforts with both governments and nongovernmental organizations.
Such efforts include the International Cocoa Initiative , an initiative working throughout the Ivory

and the The World Cocoa Foundation , an initiative helping to achieve cocoa sustainability,
supporting cocoa communities, education, field programs and scientific research (World Cocoa

within the cocoa community (Mars, 2012).

Why Is The Nurse Important In Romeo And Juliet
1 Romeo and Juliet From William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet is the most famous love story in
the English literary tradition. The most important theme is love, specifically, love at first sight
between Romeo and Juliet. I chose to write about the Nurse because she is the personal servant,
guardian and former wet nurse of Juliet Capulet, and has been with Juliet since she was born. This
character played a strong part in allowing Romeo and Juliet s relationship to grow and their
passion to become stronger because she sends the letters to Romeo and helped them arrange their

Developing Nation
Key Term and Why I Am Interested In It
I am interested in the term developing nation because it is a broad topic and several countries fall
under this term as well as a wide range of other subject matter. The issues surrounding a developing
nation are vastly different than those surrounding a developed nation. I am also interested in
learning more about the characteristics of a developing nation and the things that developed nations
are doing to assist those in developing countries. I am also interested in gaining an understanding of
the developing nations growth, particularly, in areas of output and trade and what roles are
developing nations playing in the world economy.
Explanation of Key Term
A developing nation is described as country that has not fully developed economically. Most
citizens of these countries are living below the poverty line and are generally considered to be poor.
Developing nations have more population growth than those in developed nations. Most developing
nations have lower per capita income than those in developed nations. Developing nations have
lower levels of human capita, particularly, as it relates to health and education. Those in developing
nations have a shorter life expectancy than those in developed nations. There tends to be a higher

dollars could be saved with just a few interventions and patient satisfaction would also increase.
There are things that could have been done to solve the ethical issues in Mr. J s scenario. First,
the CNA needs to be educated on what to look for when it comes to pressure areas. A protocol
should be in place in which a CNA notifies the nursing staff of any redness. In turn the nursing staff
should then follow up with a care for the patient that requires turning every two hours. Second, a
local Rabbi should be called in to educate staff on the Jewish culture and the changes in care a
patient should need if they are Jewish. Teaching on Kosher diets would be one of the aspects of the
education provided to all staff. Thirdly, all staff needs education about communication. Education
about communication should be ongoing. Communication between staff is as important as
communication between staff and patients and staff and family. The diet issue should have been

Considering the interconnected relationships and culture in our organizations and the value placed
on producing more and carrying more responsibility, no action merits doing unless it guarantees to
make the focal part of an managers or organizational production more effective and fulfilling
striving to enrich the environments that work. Therefore, selecting a center, to begin to expand of
the interworking of a project to bring this change about, is crucially essential. Selecting a center
starts with key participants that will be critical to the success of an action researchproject or activity
analysts inquiring usually by stakeholders of some issue that needs attention for this ultimate
implementation of change.
Further, we need to recognize the qualities, convictions, and hypothetical viewpoints from real life
experiences related to the issues that are being identified as needing change with the participants
involved in their core interest. For instance, if a stakeholder is worried about the expanding

Autoimmune Deficiencies Of Autoimmune Deficiency
Autoimmune Deficiencies are very complex and misunderstood diseases in the world today.
Most people are uneducated and unaware of what these diseases actually are and the trials
people diagnosed with these illnesses face. Due to their lack of education there is also a lack of
compassion shown; causing an awkward, silent tension between people. Lupus is a subcategory of
the Autoimmune Deficiencies. Those with this tend to be silent about their struggle, causing it to
be unnoticed in the world. However, there have been efforts made medically to give these people
a true voice. In order to give them a voice people must know what Lupus actually is, the causes and
symptoms of it, and new research that can help improve the quality of life for those who have the
disease. Autoimmune Deficiency is a medical term used that means that a person s immune system
literally attacks and eats their issue. Their body does not know how to properly indicate the
difference between healthy and unhealthy tissue so they produce antibodies that completely eat
both sets of tissue. Lupus performs the same function in a person s body, but it is a very hard
disease to actually diagnose because it can mimic various other diseases. It goes by the scientific
name Systemic lupus erythematosus, with the common name Lupus being used in everyday terms.
This illness is one of chronic pain that can affect the body both inwardly and outwardly. Inwardly,

The Global Population Of The United Nations Essay
The United Nations estimates that by 2076, the global population will be nearly 11 billion
people. Currently, the global population is slightly below 7.5 billion people, which means that in
60 years the amount of people on the Earth will increase by roughly 3.5 billion people. Living
accommodations will have to change for this large increase in population, resulting in smaller and
more cramped homes. Large cities will have to not only build more apartment complexes, but also
build them taller in order to accommodate more people. At this point in time, the technology is not
available to allow an extra 3.5 billion people adequate living conditions. However, the future
generations will be able to advance technology enough to figure out a solution. Moore s Law
observes that every two years, the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubles. In
simpler terms, it says that the processing power for computers doubles every two years. This
indicates that the future holds many technological advancements, and sixty years from now the
technology used in homes will be drastically more advanced than the technology used in homes
today. As a result, all 11 billion people will be able to live comfortably. The home of the future
will look much different than the homes of today. It will be able to perform many more tasks and
will be much more than just a buildingthat a person owns and sleeps in. Right now, both the

Journal #7 Pride and Prejudice
JOURNAL # 7 PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
The proposal scene in Chapter 34 (quote from here) is one of the most famous passages in all of
English literature. It represents very well the two main themes of the novel that appear in the title:
pride and prejudice. First, look up and define each word: pride and prejudice. Then respond to the
following questions.
Pride: satisfaction derived from one s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one
is closely associated.
Prejudice: a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.
Part One: Darcy s pride and prejudice
a.Explain how Darcy demonstrates pride during the proposal scene; use quotes from Chapter 34 to
support your claim and EXPLAIN how the quotes support it.
Even though Mr. Darcy had the best intentions when he proposed to Elizabeth, his word choice
was not the best. The narrator describes his dialect in the following quote, He spoke well; but
there were feelings besides those of the heart to be detailed; and he was no more eloquent on the
subject of tenderness than of pride. His sense of her inferiority of it being a degradation...
(Austen 34). He must find it sweet and heartwarming that he is choosing to lower his social class
for love, but he also seems to imply that he is better than her. Elizabeth feels insulted that he
would say something like that to her. She responds to Mr. Darcy by saying, You chose to tell me
that you liked me against your reason, against your will, and even against your character? (Austen
34). To her it probably seems like he is settling for her, when it comes to her social status.
b. Explain how Darcy demonstrates prejudice during the proposal scene; use quotes from Chapter
34 to support your claim and EXPLAIN how the quotes support it
Elizabeth calls out Mr. Darcy on his prejudice towards Mr. Wickham. Instead of paying attention to
the type of person he is, Mr.Darcy makes it seems like his current financial situation defines him.
Elizabeth states the following in the heated argument between her and Mr. Darcy, You have
reduced him to his present state of poverty, comparative poverty. You have

Martin Luther And Desiderius Erasmus
Martin Luther and Desiderius Erasmus make an unusual pair; Erasmus a polite and cautious
scholar, Luther a bold and outspoken priest. Because of this, Erasmus s pacifism can be quite
appealing. He can seem the hero trying to free us from the slavery of God s unapologetic will.
However, when the points of their dispute are disassembled, one would find that Erasmus lacks a
strong biblical argument; many times due to his attitude towards the topic. Luther s zeal is found to
be a huge asset in making and defending his claims, which he absolutely believes to be the truth of
Scripture. For this reason, and others I will note, Martin Luthercertainly composes the superior
biblical argument in this debate of free will. Before I go any further, the criteria for a good
biblical claim must be established to show this is the case. The primary attribute of a satisfactory
biblical case is that it must draw its strength and authority from the Bible. If authority is shifted off
of Scripture, it will surely follow that the assertion becomes less biblical. Yet, to separate what the
Bible truly says from the interpretation of those making the argument can be exceedingly difficult.
This leads directly into the second criteria: Any interpretation of the Bible must be consistent with
what has been recorded in the Old and New Testaments. A conclusion that is not so must not have
been interpreted correctly, and therefore has no value in this consideration. Lastly, to construct a

She is an inspiration to women in mathematics due to her courage, determination, and love for the subject. She fought to make a name for herself in the world of mathematics during a time when it was dominated by men. Her constant persistence and devotion lead to many great mathematical findings and discoveries. She was instrumental in the field of number theory. but also contributed a theory of elasticity and made great contributions to what we know about prime numbers. The life of Sophie Germain began in Paris, France on April 1st, 1776. This was about a decade before the French Revolution began and a century after the Scientific Revolution. • 3. Neoliberalism In Canada Introduction Unions have a long and sometimes contentious history in Canada, although they are also the source of many of the labour laws and standards that we have come to accept as normal. However, since the 1980s, an increasing trend towards favouring neoliberal policies has erased many of the social welfare and employment standards gains by unions, with particularly harsh effects on more vulnerable populations including women, immigrants, younger workers, and Aboriginal peoples. A striking example of these shifts is seen in the restaurant sector in B.C., where recent controversies with Canada s temporary foreign worker program has at least brought some discussions of worker s rights to the headlines in regional and national newspapers. Unfortunately, despite this new attention the current political climate continues to be hostile to workers groups and to workers rights. Changes: Neoliberalism in Theory and Practice in Canada and British Columbia Neoliberalism is a direct descendent of 19th century liberalism and was explicitly intended to re create laissez faire conditions for markets in the 20th century (Hayter and Barnes 200). Personal Narrative Of Josiah Harlan 1.Central Asia: Personal Narrative of Josiah Harlan a.Josiah Harlan, an American famous for his adventures in India and Afghanistan, writes about the social situation of Afghanistan in the early 1800s. He has extensive notes about Hazara culture, although his writings are clearly affected by prejudiced racial and religious attitudes common in the West at the time. He certainly expresses his disapproval of Islamic ways, so his observations may not be fully reliable, but his observations of Hazarajat allow me to reconstruct the religious life of the Hazaras in this time period, albeit with some possible error due to his bias. 2.Oral Histories a.I plan to use oral history accounts from active members of the American Hazara community to highlight ... I plan to show that these parties exercised significant degrees of autonomy and were not merely Iranian puppets. 4.Guardians of Shi ism a.The author here focuses on the international nature of many organizations of prominent Grand Ayatollahs. He shows how these institutions form international networks for the scholars who found them. I plan to expand on this idea, showing how these organizations in turn produce international networks for their members. Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true. Everyone knows the story of the Titanic. The ship was on its maiden voyage when it hit an iceberg and sank, leading to the death of more than 1,500 people ( Titanic A+E Networks). It was a horrible event, but it may have all been planned by the company that owned the ship. White Star Lineowned both the Titanic and its sister ship, the Olympic. The... If there was ever a wife more happy with her husband, the poet asks those women to compare themselves to her. She prizes her husband s love more than gold or the riches of the East. Rivers cannot quench her loveand no love but his can ever satisfy her. There is no way she can ever repay him for his love. She believes they should love each other so much that when they die, their love will live on.Analysis: Anne Bradstreet s passionate love poems to her husband are some of the memorable in her canon because of the rawness of her expression. Men and women married young and were expected to remain together until they died. Puritan society did not tolerate divorce or adultery, although cases of both are certainly present in the historical record. Husbands and wives were supposed to adhere to the Biblical definition of marriage , which emphasized mutual love and respect. However, Puritans were not supposed to place all of their efforts in the relationship on Earth, but rather, to glorify God through their union. As the Poetry Foundation s page on Bradstreet explains, marriage was very important and the focus on family was crucial; however, the love between wife and husband was not supposed to distract from devotion to God. In Bradstreet s sonnets, her erotic attraction to her husband is central, and these poems are more secular than religious. Robert J. Richardson writes that the development in To My Dear and Loving Husband is clear and logical. The poet s husband loves her so much that in order to find something that equals it, she must turn her sights Heavenward. • 12. Death Versus Death By Emily Dickinson Maheen Chranya English HP E Ratliff April 21, 2015 Term Paper Rough Draft HP: _____________________ Death versus Death but the Points go to Dickinson Emily Dickinson was born in a time when not many women involved themselves in poetry or any form of intellectual capability. Despite this, she was such a wonderful poet that her poetry rivaled Whitman s. Of course, she was never able to rival him because she chose not to publish her poetry in her lifetime. Once the world saw her poetry, however, it was shocked by the literary genius who had lived in seclusion for a good majority of her life. Her style is very distinguishable through it is excessive but purposeful punctuation and 8 6 8 6 rhyme that matches church songs and patriotic songs like Amazing Grace and Glory to God on High. The church influenced more than her style, however, as much of her subject matter pertains to her unorthodox beliefs. Other subjects include hope and sometimes humor, but her ideas on death are both very interesting and complicated. Dickinson does not make light of death, but she uses her poems as her diary to record her thoughts on death. She moves rapidly from thinking death is passive to thinking it is an amazing honor, but she also thinks of it in a terrified sense. Emily Dickinson s views on death are uncertain, she varies between finding death casual, positive and romantic, and negative in a series of several poems Many people may fear death, but Emily Dickinson sometimes expressed in her ... This paper will explain more of why I feel this way. I will also provide four peer reviewed sources supporting my argument. The first reason I find it to be unethical is because of the ways in which subjects were lured into participating in the study. Certain people could say they volunteered but that would require they not be compensated for their efforts in any way. Each participant was financially compensated with $4.50 which is the equivalent of about $25.00 to today s currency (Dollar Times, 2008). Because none of the participants were truly volunteers their actions and subsequent test results must not be considered ethically accurate when comparing them to society in general. Continuing on, the setting in which the participants were observed was a foreign setting all with employing behaviors unique to that of a scientist (Baurimd, 1964). Now, coupling the foreign setting, strange behaviors and the fact they have been paid with the principle of participant obedience, it can be assumed that all these attributes mixed together would result in an overly obedient test subject. The song, which has a strong sense of geographic place was used by the New Zealand group, the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band to connect to a rural American bluegrass tradition by associating music with place. As consumers of American culture, bluegrass artists in New Zealand adopted bluegrass and its associated traditions in an attempt to match the authentic Southern ness of artists such as Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs. Biodiversity is, according to Merriam Webster, the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem. • 30. Analysis Of The Letter To His Father Franz Kafka wrote this Letter to his Father in November 1919, but it was never delivered. After writing the letter by hand, he got it typed, and it is not known whether he wanted the contents of the letter to reach the public eye at the time of writing or not. When Kafka asked his friend Max Brod to destroy his writings at his death, and Max Brods refusal to do so brought them to the world, this letter too was part of what he received, which was eventually published in its entirety in 1953. The Letter to his Father is a multi generic exercise in that it couples autobiography with the form of the letter, and relies on the strategies of the familychronicle to present perspectives on both the speaker and the subject through an ironic, critical lens. This letter is also one of the most accessible documentary that we have on Kafka himself, whose self scrutiny and analysis off his own situation as a sonoffers us insights into the way he saw his growth as an individual in circumstance that he considered difficult. As a literary example, on the other hand, the latter makes use of several conventions such as first person narratorial voice (for the impression of authenticity), anecdote (for historical contextualization), and flashback (for reference). At the same time, the letter is a long document with a focussed subject where the addressee (his father) is as much the occasion for the writing, as he is the protagonist whose and mode of functioning form part of what Kafka deals ... By using the word VS also gives the impression of fighting and violence, which is known to be a very masculine tendency as it relates to dominance and control, two things men aspire to become. The Marxist concept of hegemonic masculinity states that the man should have; Physical force and control, occupational achievement, familial patriarchy, frontiersman ship and heterosexuality . The most important theme is love, specifically, love at first sight between Romeo and Juliet. I chose to write about the Nurse because she is the personal servant, guardian and former wet nurse of Juliet Capulet, and has been with Juliet since she was born. This character played a strong part in allowing Romeo and Juliet s relationship to grow and their passion to become stronger because she sends the letters to Romeo and helped them arrange their secret marriage. Living accommodations will have to change for this large increase in population, resulting in smaller and more cramped homes. It represents very well the two main themes of the novel that appear in the title: pride and prejudice. First, look up and define each word: pride and prejudice. Prejudice: a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. Even though Mr. Darcy had the best intentions when he proposed to Elizabeth, his word choice was not the best. The narrator describes his dialect in the following quote, He spoke well; but there were feelings besides those of the heart to be detailed; and he was no more eloquent on the subject of tenderness than of pride. His sense of her inferiority of it being a degradation... (Austen 34). He must find it sweet and heartwarming that he is choosing to lower his social class for love, but he also seems to imply that he is better than her. Elizabeth feels insulted that he would say something like that to her. She responds to Mr. Darcy by saying, You chose to tell me that you liked me against your reason, against your will, and even against your character? (Austen 34). Because of this, Erasmus s pacifism can be quite appealing. He can seem the hero trying to free us from the slavery of God s unapologetic will. However, when the points of their dispute are disassembled, one would find that Erasmus lacks a strong biblical argument; many times due to his attitude towards the topic. Luther s zeal is found to be a huge asset in making and defending his claims, which he absolutely believes to be the truth of Scripture. For this reason, and others I will note, Martin Luthercertainly composes the superior biblical argument in this debate of free will. Before I go any further, the criteria for a good biblical claim must be established to show this is the case. The primary attribute of a satisfactory biblical case is that it must draw its strength and authority from the Bible. If authority is shifted off of Scripture, it will surely follow that the assertion becomes less biblical. Yet, to separate what the Bible truly says from the interpretation of those making the argument can be exceedingly difficult. This leads directly into the second criteria: Any interpretation of the Bible must be consistent with what has been recorded in the Old and New Testaments. A conclusion that is not so must not have been interpreted correctly, and therefore has no value in this consideration. Lastly, to construct a sound ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
