8. Steps in NIFT Admission Test
 There is an Entrance Test for NIFT every year.
 The test has three stages:
◦ First there is a written test.
◦ Then the Situation Test for those who make it through the written
test
◦ Lastly the Personal Interview Round

9. When Are the NIFT Entrance Examinations to be held this
Year?
 NIFT written exam for entrance to its UG and PG courses has been
held on February 12, 2017
 The Situation Test / Group Discussion./ Personal Interview will be
held around April – May this year.

10. Pattern of Entrance Examination to NIFT
 Phase I: General Ability Test – 100 Marks and Creative Ability Test
(CAT) – 100 marks
 GAT comprises 150 objective questions that you need to answer in
2 hours
 CAT has 3 to 4 questions that need to be answered in 3 hours
 GAT tests the examinee’s ability to solve quantitative problems,
analytical reasoning problems, English communication and
comprehension and General Knowledge

11. Pattern of Entrance Examination to NIFT
 CAT tests the student’s ability in design problem solving,
observation, perception etc.
 Phase II: It consists of Situation Test of 2 hours duration.
 The students are given materials to create a 3D model or a
handicraft.
