This document summarizes an eTwinning project from 2014-2015 that involved 13 schools from 10 European countries. The project involved students creating time capsules containing letters to future generations and other symbolic objects to be buried and opened in 100 years. Key activities included students writing letters about their lives, culture, and hopes for the future. Students also collaborated online, created Christmas cards and calendars, held photo contests, and discussed dreams and problems facing their generation. The ultimate goals were for students to consider how current actions impact the future, prepare for a multilingual society, and foster international cooperation.

5.  Starting point  Τhe starting point for
the project was the
information that a time
capsule of
1914 hidden in Boston
City Hall has been
found and opened after
100 years.

6. Basic aim
 Students had to make a time capsule and to “bury” it
during the spring of 2015 somewhere in the surroundings of
the school.
 The time capsule would contain mainly “letters to future
generations”, written by students of European schools
but also various items/objects of symbolic value.

7. More specifically further aims of the project
were:
To think about the consequences of our today actions on
the citizens of tomorrow.
to prepare students to be citizens of a multilingual society,
in which, on the one hand, awareness of, respect for
diversity and interest in other cultures are vital, and , on the
other, the ability to communicate with speakers of other
languages is a much valued skill.
To understand that we all are interconnected
and that the survival and the further
development of our planet is
based on the value of a peaceful and creative
cooperation.

to the creation of the final product
