Our identity is that we are loved by God and made worthy, not because of anything we have done or will do. God loves us with the same kind of love He has for Christ. Without truly appreciating this fact, we cannot be filled with God's fullness or trust Him fully. Indulging in sinful acts stems from not knowing how much God loves us. Realizing God's deep love for us gives us a strong foundation and improved self-esteem, enabling us to break free from sin and live as we ought.
God teaches us in the bible how we should love. However, we know that NOT all people believe in the bible or choose to obey his laws. If everyone in this world obeyed the 2nd great commandment, that is, to love thy neighbor as thyself....there would be no hate or violence in this world. Nor would we have sodomy because a romantic relationship between two individuals of the same-gender is NOT considered love in the eyes of God. He considers it an abomination, a sin. We must learn to love not according to the desires of our flesh but according to the laws of God.
The document summarizes Watchman Nee's messages on "The Life That Wins" delivered in 1935. It discusses the ideal victorious Christian life ordained by God and contrasts it with the common experiences of failure and defeat among Christians in eight areas: 1) Sins of the spirit like pride and unbelief 2) Sins of the flesh 3) Sins of the mind like wandering thoughts 4) Sins of the body related to overindulgence 5) Sins of disposition like being too harsh or timid 6) Sins related to one's natural temperament and character traits. The document urges Christians to humble themselves and recognize their shortcomings in order to receive God's grace and victory over these failures.
This document contrasts a religious, rule-keeping relationship with God with one based on grace. It argues that a religious approach kills and compares, keeping God at a distance and believing sin separates us from God. A grace-based relationship, on the other hand, gives life by celebrating our acceptance through Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, with nothing able to separate us from God's love. It encourages enjoying life and relationships rather than taking oneself too seriously and using fear, guilt and shame to control others.
This document discusses the importance of loving one's neighbor according to Christian teachings. It explains that the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. Christian love is described as being patient, kind, and not self-seeking. Jesus demonstrated love through serving others, as when he washed his disciples' feet. To love neighbors as Jesus loves means committing acts of service, such as sacrificing one's life for others. The conclusion encourages readers to find meaning in life by loving God and using their lives to bless others.
1) The passage discusses the importance of love, citing several biblical passages that say without love, gifts, knowledge, and faith mean nothing.
2) It explains that love comes from God and those who refuse to love don't truly know God, because God is love. God showed his love by sending his son as a sacrifice to clear away sins.
3) The passage notes that even naughty children received presents, showing unconditional love can change people, just as God's love can change sinners. Loving one another is important because it allows God's love to dwell within us and become complete.
1. The document discusses developing genuine faith to achieve freedom from unwanted sexual behaviors. It argues that experiencing unconditional love from God, who is portrayed as unconditionally loving, can provide this freedom.
2. Several passages from Romans are cited to explain how sin causes death but that Jesus Christ rescues people from this through his unconditional love.
3. The document recommends reading the Bible, praying daily, finding a church, and finding ways to serve God to strengthen one's faith and experience of God's unconditional love.
True love waits because it is patient, unconditional, and selfless. It can only be expressed by tapping into God's love. While waiting can be difficult, it avoids personal costs like interrupted education, lost friends, disease, and broken families. However, for those who have already sinned sexually, there is still forgiveness through prayer and repentance.

CFC-SFC CLP Talk No. 6 "Loving Your Neighbor"Perlimae Pornia
Jesus summed up the whole law as loving God and loving your neighbor. There is no love for God without love for others. Christian love is not about positive feelings or self-seeking, but rather committed service and sacrifice like Jesus showed by laying down his life. To live as Christians, we must love our neighbors with patience, kindness, and by bearing all things as outlined in 1 Corinthians 13. Loving neighbors is essential and not optional for Christianity.
God's love is unconditional in three ways:
1) God loves all people equally, without regard for family relations or conditions. His love is impartial.
2) God loves us not because of anything we do, but because love is His very nature. We do not earn or lose His love through our actions or sins.
3) When we sin, we separate ourselves from God through our free will, rather than God withdrawing His love. God's love remains constant while our relationship with Him depends on our choice to follow His will or not.

The document discusses how marriage relationships can reveal our weaknesses to each other, help us recognize our own weaknesses, and teach us to value one another. It also talks about how marriage relationships have the potential to affirm our identities, heal wounds from the past through selfless love, and provide a context for both giving and receiving grace and forgiveness. The overall message is that marriage can powerfully shape us through truth, love, and grace if we learn to love our spouse on their terms.
This document discusses the meaning of Christian love according to biblical teachings. It defines love as an action rather than just a feeling, explaining that Christian love is choosing to do what is best for others regardless of personal cost. It differentiates biblical agape love from other forms of love by describing agape as unconditional love for both friends and enemies. The document also examines Jesus' teachings on love from the Sermon on the Mount and his summation of the Ten Commandments as loving God and others.
Identity: Who We Are In Christ: We are Friends of ChristStephen Palm
We have already focused on the fact that Jesus has adopted us into His family. But he also called His disciples His friends. Friendship is different than family love. It can be every bit as close but operates on different principles. You don’t choose your family. Some are easy to love. Some are hard and it takes a lifetime to learn to love them consistently. But you do choose your friends and your friends choose you. Jesus chose you! But he also warns us that just as He loves His friends and is loved by them, He has enemies and they hate both Jesus and His friends. Increasingly there are those in our culture who despise Christians. They disparage us because “The dogma speaks loudly in us” to quote a U.S. Senator. Choosing Jesus as a friend is the best choice you can make, but He wants us to understand that it is a costly choice. Yet, not choosing to befriend Him is costlier yet.
This document discusses the importance of fathers and the impact of absent fathers. It notes that children with absent fathers are more likely to live in poverty, have behavioral problems, suffer infant mortality, end up incarcerated, commit crimes, become pregnant as teens, face abuse and neglect, abuse drugs and alcohol, suffer obesity, and drop out of high school. The document then examines a passage from 1 John that discusses how God is love and how we should love one another as a reflection of God's love for us. It emphasizes that knowing and abiding in God's love allows us to overcome any fear.
The document discusses keeping faith and staying on course with God. It emphasizes starting well on the "Jesus Trail", continuing steadfastly through challenges, and finishing strong with God's help. It encourages remembering God's voice through reading the Bible, prayer, and others. It also stresses the importance of community, accountability, and drawing strength from faithful friends on the journey.
This document discusses various addictions that can distract from one's relationship with God, including substances, behaviors, and other people/things. It states that addictions take the place of God and waste the precious time one has been given. Various biblical passages are cited that encourage walking with God and resisting sinful lusts and behaviors. The key to overcoming addictions, it says, is completely trusting in God through Jesus Christ and putting on the new self rather than living according to former addictions.
This document discusses the meaning of Christian love and how to apply it. It defines love as the core of the Christian life, as summed up in loving God and neighbor. Christian love is described as not being feelings-based, always saying yes, defensive, self-seeking, or manipulative. True Christian love is modeled on how Jesus loved - by laying down his life for others through acts of service and sacrifice. Christian love is characterized by patience, kindness, humility, and forgiveness as described in 1 Corinthians 13. The conclusion emphasizes that God both commands us to love and empowers us to love through the Holy Spirit.
The document discusses the importance of integrity in relationships with God and others. It emphasizes living consistently according to what one believes and avoiding hypocrisy. It provides examples of a lack of integrity in various relationships like marriage, family, work, church and relationships between genders. It stresses the importance of accountability, respect, trust and communication in building strong relationships based on integrity.
1) Covetousness is an ongoing desire for other people's possessions and status that leads to idolatry, putting things before God. It causes envy, selfishness, and wars as people desire what others have.
2) True fulfillment and happiness can only be found in God, not in money, relationships, or other worldly things that are temporary.
3) To overcome covetousness, we must be content with what we have, grateful to God, and trust him to provide for our needs rather than trying to find fulfillment in created things. Walking closely with God through faith leads to freedom from covetousness.
This document discusses the concept of love as described in the Bible. It provides several definitions of love from passages such as 1 Corinthians 13:6. Love is described as not taking pleasure in injustice but rather rejoicing in the truth. It does not delight in evil or wrongdoing but finds joy in righteousness. True love treasures truth, celebrates good behavior, and promotes virtue. The document emphasizes that to exhibit God's love means having God's perspective on sin and righteousness by sorrowing over sin but rejoicing at truth and virtue.
This is the slideshow I walked the youth through to present to discuss the controversial subject of homosexuality from a biblical perspective and how a Christian should respond.
1) Love originates from God, who sent his son Jesus to save the world out of love.
2) We can only achieve love by knowing God and being born of him. Love involves helping others through sacrifice, forgiveness, and denying oneself.
3) Loving God and others with actions, not just words, is important. Following God's commandments is evidence of truly loving him. Supreme love for God and others is the best gift from our heavenly Father.
Exploring a Covenant of Belonging - Brent Lokkerrfochler
In our journey with God as a church family, what does a "covenant of belonging" look like? Senior Pastor Brent Lokker shares this message on our podcast: http://blazingfire.podbean.com/e/brent-lokker-covenant-relationships/
1) The document presents the "bridge diagram" method for leading someone to Christianity. It uses concepts from Romans 6:23 of wages of sin being death but the gift of God being eternal life through Jesus Christ.
2) It then outlines 5 steps to guide someone through the diagram: discussing wages/sin/death versus gift/God/eternal life, determining what side of the divide between man/sin and God they stand, the need to repent and make Jesus lord, and deciding to accept Christ.
3) The overall document seeks to explain Christianity and how it has impacted the author's life through worship, forgiveness, desire, and their sense of purpose.
The document discusses the first of the Ten Commandments - "You shall have no other God before me." It states that this commandment is about loyalty to God and putting him first. It means not looking to anything else other than God for salvation or happiness. Breaking this commandment can mean fulfilling religious obligations without truly focusing on God or changing behaviors. The commandment shows that God wants to be the sole focus in one's life and the top priority at all times.
This document discusses the importance of love according to the Bible. It begins by asking questions about love songs and what the Bible says about love. It then discusses the greatest commandment to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. It also discusses the importance of loving others, including other Christians and non-Christians. It emphasizes that faith without works is dead, and that our love for God and others should be shown through our actions. It concludes by asking discussion questions about who is most difficult to love and how to put faith into action through love.
Christ came to restore our relationship with God and give us victory. It is yours for the taking. He leaves the choice up to us. I would like to challenge you to willingly accept His gift to you.
The document discusses how social media has changed marketing and created opportunities for personal branding. It notes that 20 years ago, marketing involved newspapers and television but today focuses on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The document encourages developing a personal brand on these channels, being responsive to customers, positioning oneself as a thought leader, and using one's brand to find or create the perfect job. It presents social media as a great equalizer that allows anyone to build their own future.

This document discusses Flyer, a startup that aims to disrupt the commercial real estate marketing industry. Flyer wants to make the process faster, smarter, and better through the use of digital tools like web and social media. Currently a $500 billion industry, commercial real estate transactions present an opportunity for Flyer to capture part of the $30 billion spent annually on marketing through a business model that partners with brokers.
The document describes a series of sessions for start-ups on marketing and advertising tools. It will include 5 sessions over June and July on topics like creating a brand model, getting traffic, content creation, and data analysis tools. It also provides information on various free and paid tools for analyzing market categories, competitors, consumers, websites, and social media. Key tools highlighted include Admetricks, Statista, SimilarWeb, Ahrefs, Google Consumer Surveys, and Moz.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help boost feelings of calmness, happiness and focus.
This document discusses demonstrating love for others through understanding God's love. It begins by outlining the objectives of learning how loving God is the greatest commandment, understanding the significance of God's love, valuing life, patriotism through faith, recognizing God as the source of creation, and sustainability. Several quotes about love are provided. The rest of the document discusses expressing love for God by obeying his teachings and commandments, specifically discussing the first four which prohibit idolatry, taking God's name in vain, and keeping the Sabbath day holy. Activities are included to reflect on loves in one's life and the meanings of love. Credits and sources are listed at the end.
1) The document discusses how believing in God's intimate love for us allows us to see ourselves in a healthy way. It says God loves us unconditionally as his children, just as he loved Jesus.
2) It notes the importance of fathers teaching children about their self-worth and identity, something many lack due to absent fathers.
3) When securely grounded in God's love, we can withstand trials and criticism from others, rather than doubting ourselves. The love validates our identity and empowers us to persist despite failures.
This document discusses distortions of God's love and justice. It addresses the idea that God is only loving and would never send people to Hell, as well as the idea that God is never forgiving. The document seeks to show that God is both loving and just. His love is demonstrated through sending Jesus to die for sins, satisfying both God's love and requirement of justice. While sin angers God, he is willing to forgive through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. The document aims to resolve misunderstandings of God's character through biblical examination of his love, holiness, righteousness, and forgiveness.
Ever wonder why people are always speaking to us as if there is a magical formula to life? Well there is'nt. Our life has purpose and that purpose is all in JESUS; HE is our key to a fulfilling life. JESUS is the only formula any of us will ever need.
1) The document is a summary and reflection on the passage "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers and sisters" from 1 John 3:14.
2) It argues that by loving our neighbors, especially other Christians, we experience God's love and enter into union with God.
3) This experience of God's love through loving others gives us certainty in our faith and helps us face challenges to our faith.
The document discusses the differences between a soul mate and an eternal companion. A soul mate is described as one's "other half" that they expect to have no problems or hardships with, which is an unrealistic fantasy. An eternal companion is a spouse someone is willing to change and endure hardship for to have an eternal marriage bond. Effective ways to have an equal, sacred eternal companion relationship include drawing closer to God, including Him in the relationship, and obtaining His perspective. Forgiveness, repentance, and enduring hard times or "crucibles" can help heal and strengthen marriages. Keeping temple covenants is essential to having an eternal family.
God Loves You more than anything you can imagineGail DeHart
This document discusses how much God loves each person. It says God loves unconditionally and wants the best for everyone. It lists seven ways God loves: with an atoning love through Jesus' sacrifice; a calling love by bringing people out of darkness; a redeeming love by freeing people from sin's curse; a justifying love by seeing people as righteous through Jesus; an adopting love by making people God's children; a sanctifying love by setting people apart for God; and a glorifying love by completing the good work started in people. The document encourages reading these Bible verses about God's love and internalizing how much God loves unconditionally. It says experiencing this love can prevent falling and help find solutions when facing problems
This document provides a summary of Lesson 10 from a series on evangelism and witnessing. The lesson discusses different motivations for evangelism, explaining that the right motivation is love for God in response to His love and grace, rather than guilt, obligation, or debt. It warns against legalism and working to earn salvation through obedience. True freedom comes through surrender to God as His slaves. Maintaining enthusiasm and focus are important to keep ministries on track. The lesson encourages studying it using the ADAPT method of associating with truth, discovering what the Bible says, applying it to life, planning to use it, and transferring it to daily living.
This document discusses the importance of being single-minded for God. It provides several lessons on how to cultivate single-mindedness, including having a clear vision for how Jesus fits in one's life, persevering through challenges, detaching from desires and plans and instead seeking God's will, and finding consolation only in God. The overall message is that we must dedicate ourselves fully to serving God without reservation in order to be truly single-minded for Him.
Despite their best intentions, even good parents can give their children a faulty impression of God's character and ways by the way they raise their children. This message addresses and illustrates how this can happen. God can fix this problem through prayer and study of the Bible. Many people will need help working this through with another believer who has been trained in helping people break agreement with unbiblical beliefs and the demonic forces that use them against us.
1) The document discusses the importance of loving God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength as commanded in the Bible.
2) It states that we must first learn to love God before we can truly love ourselves and others. Loving God means having a soul bond and sharing His desires, not just intellectually believing in Him.
3) When we love God with our entire being, we can then love others through tangible, unconditional actions and see our lives filled with deep purpose and meaning.
Jesus teaches his followers to "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." True biblical love is a commitment of the will, not an emotion, shown by God sacrificially loving and dying for sinners. As Christians, we must learn to follow this difficult teaching by forgiving those who harm us and praying for their good, even if initially difficult. Jesus' own example on the cross in forgiving his persecutors and the martyr Stephen show us how to fulfill this commandment to have no enemies through complete forgiveness.
This document discusses how one's image of God transforms them. It uses examples to show how images of God have evolved from more selfish views to more inclusive views that love all people and the earth. The key point is that having the mind of Christ means emptying oneself of personal concerns and allowing the Holy Spirit to fill you with care for the well-being of others, even those you disagree with or find unlikable. Following Jesus requires continuing to evolve one's understanding of God to be more loving and inclusive.
I want us to think about the question...WHAT IF? When you hear that question, how does it make you feel? Yell it out!
The question, “What if?” brings about fear in me…I hear stuff like…
What if they don’t like me?
What if they don’t think I’m good enough?
What if I mess up?
What if I don’t look like them?
What if, what if, what if!
• Gifts will pass away, and what we are left with is what God wants us to have most of…love.
• See, if we have a church that is known for preaching, we have missed it.
• If we are known for our singers, we’ve missed it.
• If it’s our programs, we’ve missed it again.
• If our church isn’t known for its love, we have missed what God created us for, and why the body of Christ exists in the first place.
Love says I need you. Love says you’re worth the risk, the pain, and the discomfort. Love proves each piece matters.
Know God More - Won by One - One Truth Joan Soliven
The gospel, or good news, is that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. As the Bible teaches, all people have sinned and fall short of God's perfect standard of holiness, separating us from God. But God loves us and sent his Son Jesus to die for our sins so that we may be forgiven and have eternal life. To receive this salvation, one must believe that Jesus died for their sins and trust in him as their savior.
Inspired by the spiritual teachings of author and healer, Joel S. Goldsmith, this eBook details how a sincere student of spiritual practice may awaken to a deep, mystical communion with the inner God-Self.
The document summarizes discussions from a meeting about topics related to same-sex attraction held the previous Tuesday. Key points from the discussion included:
- The terms "straight" and "normal" are difficult to define and do not have clear biblical meanings.
- Same-sex and opposite-sex attraction thoughts are both considered normal, but acting on attractions physically or mentally could be seen as sinful.
- Jesus' death on the cross forgave all past, present, and future sins. For believers under grace, there is no limit to God's forgiveness as long as they have breath.
- Bringing thoughts of Christ into reflections on same-sex attraction could help maintain a life focused on grace rather than

Coming Home To Our True Identity - Charles Razzellrfochler
Charles Razzell contrasts the attitudes and outcomes for two men who encountered God's power: Simon the Sorcerer and Paul the Apostle (Acts chapters 8 & 9). God calls us to experience sonship and values us accordingly, whereas many of us still tend to assess each other for what we do. The best possible outcome is when we know who we are in Christ and live accordingly; Jesus being the Vine, and we the branches. Overall it aims to resolve how believers can be instructed to fear God but also told not to be afraid by distinguishing types of fear and examining the context of loving obedience and relationship under grace rather than law.

Pastor Brent Lokker highlights the defining characteristics of the fellowship of believers as described in Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-37. Rather than treat these ideas as confined to the first century, Pastor Brent demonstrates that breaking of bread, praying for one another and taking care of each other's practical needs remain as defining marks of Holy Spirit-inspired communities today. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus and empowers believers through spiritual gifts. When the Spirit is poured out, it alters people's theology based on their new experiences. God poured out the Spirit so that Jesus' church could bring His kingdom and answers through prophetic words, visions, and discernment. As believers operate in the Spirit through agreement and declaration, things can be "tied up" or "released" on earth as determined in heaven. The Spirit convicts people of their need for Jesus and righteousness found only through Him.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
