This document discusses how one's image of God transforms them. It uses examples to show how images of God have evolved from more selfish views to more inclusive views that love all people and the earth. The key point is that having the mind of Christ means emptying oneself of personal concerns and allowing the Holy Spirit to fill you with care for the well-being of others, even those you disagree with or find unlikable. Following Jesus requires continuing to evolve one's understanding of God to be more loving and inclusive.
Based on "Biblical Worldview: Creation, Fall, Redemption" by Dr. Mark L. Ward, et. al., this lesson examines God's motivation for creation: Love. God's goal is to glorify Himself in His creation. It examines the major views of how God relates to His creation and reminds us that God needs nothing from us.
What is God Like? Brad Jersak introduces his latest book 'A More Christlike God'Paul Milbank
What is God like? 'Believers' and atheists alike often carry and finally reject the toxic images of God in their own hearts. Whether our notions of 'god' are personal projections or inherited traditions, author and theologian Brad Jersak proposes a radical reassessment, arguing for A More Christlike God: a More Beautiful Gospel. If Christ is "the image of the invisible God, the radiance of God's glory and exact representation of God's likeness," what if we conceived of God as completely Christlike—the perfect Incarnation of self-giving, radically forgiving, co-suffering love? The implications could be surprising and wonderful!
Here we present 25 short prayer quotes that will inspire us to start every day engulfed in God's presence and bring calm, peace, and balance to our lives. Visit us at bibilium.com, a wholesome Christian blog that caters to the need of every member of the family. Spread the Love and Share the Joy. Celebrate the amazing goodness of God in your lives.
The church is the mother of believers--the God-ordained school of virtue in which Christian disciples learn how to desire the good and to reject what is false. Romans 12:9ff outlines covenant life in the congregation.

Jesus was only satisfied by faith working through loveGLENN PEASE
This is a study of Jesus being only satisfied by faith working through love. He is not satisfied by the working of the law such as circumcision or any other law practice. Faith working through love is all that counts and all the matters.
Pastor Brent reminds us of the simple Gospel message and its power to set us free, if only we would take it at face value. Too often we have allowed never-quite-good-enough, performance-based religion to turn God's good news into a man-made prison! Pastor Brent invites us back to the place where we trust the completeness of God's salvation work in us, and can confidently state that we're fully accepted and loved as God’s favored child! Every church has a mission and a vision, whether they know it or not. A mission is why the organization exists and the vision is what they are trying to achieve. In this presentation to the Mt. Pleasant UMC community, we share the mission and vision that will create a partnership for ministry and growth.

Jesus was to be loved with undying loveGLENN PEASE
This is a study of Jesus being loved with undying love. It is to be love that never ends and thus love that influences all that we do in living out the Christian life pleasing to Him.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

WHAT FOLLOWING CHRIST LOOKS LIKE
Philippians 2:1 If then there is any
encouragement in Christ, any consolation from
love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion
and sympathy, 2 make my joy complete: be of
the same mind, having the same love, being in
full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing
from selfish ambition or conceit, but in
humility regard others as better than
yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not to your
own interests, but to the interests of others.

10. THINK LIKE JESUS!
5 Let the same mind be in you that was in
Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form
of God, did not regard equality with God
as something to be exploited,
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a
slave, being born in human likeness.
And being found in human form, 8 he
humbled himself and became obedient to the
point of death—even death on a cross.

understandings of supremacy, lordship, sovereignty, and
power by purging them of violence—to the point where
he himself chose to be killed rather than kill.”
