Spiritual warfare training: Battlefield of the Mind Part 3 (Pastor Ameerah)Ameerah Lewis
This document summarizes a teaching on spiritual warfare and maintaining a sound mind. It discusses how the devil aims to find access points to manipulate one's mind and emotions through lies and conspiracies. It emphasizes identifying underlying lies and rotten roots from painful past experiences that have shaped one's perspective. Examining patterns in one's thoughts and behaviors can help uncover lies that are not truly one's own but are propaganda from the enemy seeking to take over one's mind. The teaching stresses that confronting lies with God's truth can unlock freedom and eradicate strongholds built upon false beliefs.
This document discusses spiritual warfare and provides information about:
1) Satan and demons, their nature and goals of destruction and rebellion against God.
2) The weapons Christians have to fight spiritual warfare, including prayer, faith, holiness, fasting, praise, God's word, and the blood and name of Jesus.
3) Putting on the full armor of God, which includes the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, sword of the spirit, and prayer.
A worldview is the set of basic assumptions that help people make sense of reality and affects their actions, thinking, and behaviors. Everybody has a worldview, whether biblical or not. It is important to know the truth because many will be deceived and God will send a strong delusion for those who do not love the truth. Jesus is the truth, and knowing the truth through spiritual experience and knowledge of God's word is important for salvation.
The document discusses the concept of worldview and how one's worldview shapes their thinking and behaviors. It emphasizes that having a biblical worldview versus a non-biblical worldview leads to different perspectives. Additionally, it stresses the importance of knowing the truth, with Jesus defined as the truth, and warns that Satan spreads deception so many will not accept the truth and be condemned. Finally, it contrasts the truth with relativism and subjectivism as alternative philosophies.
God's omniscience is defined as God knowing everything past, present, and future, except for the logically impossible. The document provides biblical support for God's omniscience from several passages in Genesis, Job, Psalms, Isaiah, Matthew, Acts, Romans, Ephesians, and Hebrews. It also notes that readers should familiarize themselves with twelve common objections to God's omniscience and the responses to them as discussed in a book by Geisler.

The World, the Flesh and the Devil are the 3 enemies of the Christian. Satan is our spiritual enemy, the World is our External enemy and the Flesh is our Internal enemy.
In this first message in this series we understand that God is very interested in our lives, very interested in the steps we take, the path we choose, and the decisions we make. We learn that we can know God's will accurately. We discover how God guides us through His written Word.
This document outlines the objectives, aims, risks, and prerequisites for an effective prayer seminar. The seminar aims to focus on personal prayer that changes oneself rather than trying to change God, and focuses on spiritual prosperity rather than material gains. Risks include thinking about prayer is the same as praying, and using legalistic systems for checking off prayer. Prerequisites for effective prayer include repentance, humility, belief, righteousness, understanding God's will and one's role, and being spiritual through praying in the Spirit at all times. The takeaways encourage examining one's salvation, confessing sins, or stepping up humility and spiritual filledness with God's help.
The document discusses God's attributes of wisdom and light. Wisdom refers to God's infinite ability to choose the best means to accomplish the best ends, as seen in his omniscience and benevolence. Light refers to God as the great illuminator and radiant source of all illumination and enlightenment. The document provides biblical support for both wisdom and light being attributes of God.
The document discusses spiritual warfare for beginners. It outlines two extremes to avoid: ignoring evil/the devil, and becoming obsessed with learning about the devil. The key is finding a balance of being aware of the devil's attempts to hinder believers, while not living in fear and focusing more on knowing God. It describes sitting in what God has done, walking in obedience, and standing firm by putting on the full armor of God. The devil seeks to steal, kill and destroy through deception, exploiting weaknesses, and sowing doubts about God and salvation. Believers can counter through prayer, living in God's love, humility and evangelism.

The document discusses biblical discernment and how to discern God's will. It explains that God has both a secret will regarding predetermined events, as well as a revealed will found in scripture commanding believers. Discerning God's will involves renewing the mind with scripture so we understand and obey God's commands. Gray areas without clear biblical guidance require thinking biblically, distrusting our hearts, and imitating God. Media consumption should be discerned using biblical principles like whether it glorifies God or causes temptation/enslavement.
The document discusses several philosophical and scientific concepts through an Islamic lens. It explores five domains of existence including the man, jinn, angel, barzakh, and dream domains. It also discusses the soul, spirit, dreams, death, free will, predestination, and references potential scientific signs or proofs in the Quran related to nuclear fusion and particle physics. The author aims to provide a coherent understanding of these topics by connecting them to Islamic theology.
The document discusses the importance of biblical discernment. It states that believers today accept too much without proper discernment, resulting in confusion and compromise. The document outlines goals of discussing the need for biblical discernment in preaching, reading, and the local church. It also covers the doctrine and practice of applying biblical discernment.
Defend Your Faith Lesson #6 - Can I Know the Bible is True?Neal Mathis
This document discusses how Christians can know that the Bible is true. It argues that God has revealed himself through prophets, his Son Jesus, and the Bible. The Bible's message comes from God's revelation and was inspired by the Holy Spirit to ensure it is without error. The document examines biblical passages that claim inspiration and inerrancy for Scripture. It defines key concepts like revelation, inspiration, and inerrancy and argues they show the Bible accurately communicates God's message to humanity.

The document discusses the sovereignty of God, defined as God possessing supreme dominion and power over all creation. It asserts that God exercises absolute rule and control over all events, and nothing can oppose or escape his will. Examples from the Bible like Job 23:13 and Revelation 19:6 are provided to show that God remains sovereign even over evil. The sovereignty of God means there is no chance or luck - all is determined by God's will and glory.
This document discusses the different inner voices that influence us:
1. The voice of God speaks to guide his sheep (believers)

3. The voice of reasoning considers things logically and weighs pros and cons
4. The voice of the flesh cries out for our base desires
5. The voice of the devil deceives us
It encourages setting our mind on spiritual things rather than earthly desires, as an impure mind leads to an impure conscience.

The document discusses the concept of conscience from etymological, biblical, and theological perspectives. In the New Testament, conscience is seen as a God-given capacity for self-evaluation and moral judgment that is universal to all humans. For Christian theology, conscience represents the innermost place where a person encounters God and is aware of their moral obligations, directing them to do good and avoid evil. It is not merely reason but informs a person of their role in God's divine plan of creation.
Conscience is described as our lived knowledge of good and evil, prompting us to judge our actions as morally right or wrong. It is seen as the inner core where we encounter God and recognize our moral obligations. The Bible references conscience indirectly through concepts like heart, mind, and loins. In the New Testament, conscience is portrayed as a God-given capacity for self-evaluation, a witness, and servant to our value systems. Christian theologians see conscience as the place where we encounter God most intimately, directing us to harmonize self-love with benevolence.

The document discusses different types and causes of depression from a biblical perspective. It addresses physical depression which can be caused by imbalances in neurotransmitters or hormones. It notes that while medication can help in these cases, it is not always necessary and should be used discerningly. The document also covers emotional depression, which can result from negative life experiences that are not properly dealt with, and discusses how surrendering one's heart and mind to God is key to overcoming this type of depression. Next, it will address spiritual depression.
This document discusses spiritual warfare and the battle between good and evil. It aims to help the reader understand the goodness of God versus the evil of the devil. It explains that our struggle is not against human opponents but against spiritual forces like principalities, powers, and wickedness in high places. Satan's goal is to deceive people and prevent salvation, and he works to control minds in order to blind people to the gospel. Christians are called to fight with spiritual weapons like God's word and to guard their thoughts according to Christ.
This document discusses various ways that God communicates with people. It states that God is always trying to communicate with us, but that we often do not listen. It then provides examples of ways God may speak, including through the Bible, prayer, other people, circumstances, the Holy Spirit, dreams, and other means. It emphasizes the importance of having an open mind and heart to hear God through any avenue.

Sovereignty, Free Will, and Salvation - Moral Inability Part 1Robin Schumacher
This document discusses the concepts of free will, moral inability, and total depravity from a Calvinistic perspective. It summarizes:
1) Our choices are determined by our desires, which can be impacted internally by our fallen nature and externally by God. We freely choose what we most desire.
2) According to the Bible, due to the fall, unregenerate humans are morally unable to choose God or spiritual good on their own as they are hostile to God and their minds are depraved.
3) Original sin has resulted in all humans being totally depraved and unable to do good or desire God without divine intervention, as evidenced by universal sinfulness and biblical passages on human corruption and
The document summarizes a Bible study on hearing God's voice. It discusses how God speaks to people in various ways such as through dreams, visions, words of wisdom and knowledge. It also covers discerning different types of voices and gifts of the Holy Spirit like prophecy, healing and miracles. The study aims to help people understand how God communicates His will and know Him more intimately.
This document discusses the human heart from both a physical and spiritual perspective. It describes the heart as the center of one's personality, emotions, thoughts and will. The heart can be wounded through traumatic experiences, which can then lead to stress responses in the body. When trauma overwhelms one's defenses, it can result in conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder. Healing involves processing traumatic memories and finding peace through spiritual renewal of the heart. Counseling and prayer are recommended to help address underlying issues fueling stress.
This document discusses good and bad thinking and how to develop good thinking. It states that our thoughts determine our character and actions, and come from either the flesh or the Spirit. It recommends studying the Bible, prayer, and allowing the Holy Spirit to influence our thinking in order to develop good thinking. Memorizing scripture and focusing on noble themes can help resist temptation. Maintaining communion with God through prayer, even while working, and keeping the mind filled with spiritual thoughts can strengthen us and prepare us for heaven.

Do you ever wonder where a specific thought is coming from? Is that “your” thought or is Satan planting his thoughts in your head?
Many of our incoming counseling clients have self-obsessed on this question and if they are in our office, it’s because they are not winning on the battlefield of the mind. Many are indeed tormented and are frustrated because they cannot suppress or eliminate these thoughts. Some are waging warfare but are getting worn out.
What is the problem? This slide deck looks at that issue.

What is God Like? If God is anything, He is "loving." In fact, God isn't only loving-- He is "love," personified. His being emanates love through His great kindness toward all people, because God genuinely loves us.

Take some time to learn more about God's love by learning about God's character as told originally by the Apostle John.... the "disciple Jesus loved." After all, who would know better than the one known as "the beloved?"
We'll springboard from learning about God's love into deeper issues related to how God manifested His love most, which has been the person of Jesus Christ. In this podcast, we will plunge deeply into some important theological ideas to remove the mystery and maximize the majesty of the great God of the Bible.
God is Holy, Beyond Belief Series, Session 1, CardozaFreddy Cardoza
The Holy Bible says that God is Holy. That means, among other things, that God is both transcendent (far above us) and immanent (with us). In these two concepts we learn much about who God is and what He is like. This lesson is part of a multi-sessions series on the Character of God from my book "Beyond Belief" published by LifeWay Publishers, www.lifeway.com. (c) 2015. Freddy Cardoza. It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
The Book of Ruth is included in the third division, or the Writings, of the Hebrew Bible. In most Christian canons it is treated as one of the historical books and placed between Judges and 1 Samuel.

7. Some (But Not All) Secrets Are
Legitimate and Need to Be Kept
To Ourselves
Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he
who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.
Prov. 11:13
But We Should Never Keep Secrets
From Ourselves
(i.e., avoid self-deception and self-delusion)
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32 ESV
8. When We Allow the Heart
to Keep Secrets From Ourselves
We Corrupt Our Conscience and
Lose Discernment of God’s Will
“They are darkened in their understanding…
because of the ignorance that is in them
due to the hardening of their hearts”
Ephesians 4:18
10. The conscience is
God’s automatic warning system–
Dr. John McArthur
“The Vanishing Conscience”
11. God Gave Us a Conscience
He gave it to help us “know and
understand ourselves”
That’s part of what it means
to have a “soul”
The soul and the conscience give us the
ability to reflect upon ourselves.
12. God created the conscience
to help us deliberate within ourselves
about choices, decisions, and ethics
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in
it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21
They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their
conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even
excuse them Romans 2:15
13. The Conscience and the Spirit
• All people have a soul and a conscience
(Romans 2:14-15). These help them know
ourselves, be aware of God, and to make decisions for
life/eternity.
• Only believers have soul, conscience, AND
the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30). These help
us know God’s Will, in addition to the others.
14. Everyone has a soul.
Everybody has a conscience.
Our “soul” is our innermost being. It’s
who we are and who we are becoming.
The conscience is what God uses to help us
understand and evaluate our souls and
who we are becoming.
15. The conscience is the intersection of our
thoughts, motivations, and actions. God, the
Holy Spirit, speaks to us and confirms His
Voice and His Way through our Conscience.
It helps us mediate between them, to discern good or bad–
and to help us know whether each of them are “of God” or not
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel [H.S.]; in the night also my
heart [conscience] instructs me. Ps. 16:7
16. Sometimes Our Own Duplicity, Caused By
A Spoiled Conscience, Experiences Great
Inward Conflict Between Wanting To Obey
God And Wanting To Be (Our Own) God.
That drives our minds toward instability because
we try to have it both ways
A fool does not delight in wisdom because
his heart meditates upon madness.
Prov 18:2 Aramaic Bible-PET
17. The Holy Spirit and the Word of God
speak to our conscience– they
inform our minds (thoughts) and
emotions (feelings)
It is meant to help shape our wills
(our decision-making capacity)—
as free agents/human beings
18. The conscience has three possible
“statuses” or conditions
And two possible “states”
Strong, Weak, Seared Status
(1 Cor.8; 1 Tim. 4:2)
Clear [also, blameless/pure] (Acts
24:16) or Guilty State (Heb 10:22)
(Guilty can lead to Reprobate Mind, Rom 1:28)
The Reliability of Your Conscience
19. The conscience has three possible
“statuses” or conditions:
Strong, Weak, Seared
Its ability to help show you what to do
and to know God’s Will depends on
how it’s treated.
The Reliability of Your Conscience
20. The Conscience That Works As It Is
Intended, Objecting to Bad and
Affirming Good Behavior and Decisions
1 Cor. 8; Rom. 14
The Strong Conscience
21. The Conscience that Objects When
It Should But Also Objects When It
Should’t (Overreactive)

Remember, Doing “Good Works” to
“Make Up” for Personal Wickedness
Cannot Clean a Dirty Conscience
This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that
the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to

Tell Yourself the Truth
About Everything
(Always Make Sure You’re Dealing with Facts by Having a Personal
Commitment to “Traffic in Reality”)

Acknowledge the Truth to God
God Already Knows Everything, So We Can’t
“Reveal” Anything To Him. We Can only
Acknowledge It
