1) Vilasini Natyam is a dance form revived from temple dances traditionally performed by Telugu-speaking devadasis in temples. 2) In 1996, Swapnasundari became the first dancer to revive this dance form at the 350-year-old Ranganathaswamy Temple in Hyderabad during its annual January-February festival. 3) She worked with surviving devadasis to reconstruct the dances by consulting their memories of rituals performed inside the temple.
