The heart has four chambers divided into two sides and uses systole and diastole to pump blood through two circuits. The pulmonary circulation passes blood to the lungs to oxygenate it before the systemic circulation distributes oxygenated blood to the rest of the body via the aorta and returns deoxygenated blood to the heart via the vena cava. Together, the heart and circulation form a double circulatory system that oxygenates blood in the lungs and transports it to the body's tissues and back.
Circulation is the movement of blood through the vessels of the body induced by the pumping action of the heart. The types of circulation in the human body is described as a part of the physiological study.

6. Circulation
Blood follows 2 routes:
Pulmonary circulation: between the heart and lungs.
Blood with carbon dioxide comes out of the right
ventricle through the pulmonary artery.
In the alveoli blood leaves carbon dioxide and picks up
oxygen.
Blood goes to the left atrium through the pulmonary veins.
7. Circulation
Systemic Circulation:
Between the heart and the rest of the body
Blood with oxygen leaves the left ventricle through the
aorta
Blood distributes oxygen and takes carbon dioxide
It returns to the right atrium through the vena cava
