The Walk of the Believer--Ephesians 2. Sometimes life as a believer is hard. The Book of Ephesians provides us with some valuable tools that will help us with our daily walk with the Lord.
The document discusses the importance of looking in the right direction both literally and spiritually. It provides biblical examples of people who looked in the wrong direction, such as Lot's wife who looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt, and the Israelites who complained about their food and longed for what they had in Egypt. However, it also gives examples of people who looked in the right direction, such as Abraham and Moses who considered themselves pilgrims in this world and looked forward to the eternal city of God, and Paul who gave up everything to gain Christ. Christians are encouraged to look above and focus on eternal rewards rather than temporary things.
The document contains news and announcements from different ministry teams at a church. It also includes scripture passages and discussion questions about fulfilling the Great Commission. There are notes from a Bible study on Paul's journey to Rome. The document encourages connecting and communicating through an email list and class blog.
This is the fifth words of Jesus while dying on the cross and brings to us a greater understanding of His humanity and His great love for us.
4 steps in how He quenches out thirst are offered.
This document discusses the importance of having the right destination and focus in life. It emphasizes seeking God's kingdom and righteousness first according to Jesus. Each stage of life is part of God's calling and Christians should focus on ministry, growth, and following God's leading rather than money or careers. While the eternal destination of glorifying God is important, the journey itself prepares us for that destination as God shapes us through experiences. Every stop along the journey offers opportunities for dealing with brokenness or experiencing God's blessing.
This document discusses common views of God and how we should correctly view him. It begins by outlining three objectives: to look at common views of God, show the error in flawed views, and show the biblical view of God. It then lists some common but incorrect views, such as that God exists only to serve human interests. It explains that an incorrect view of God leads to honoring other things instead of God. The document advocates viewing God as holy, almighty, keeping his word, loving yet intolerant of sin based on passages like Genesis, Romans and Titus. It emphasizes that how one views God shapes how they view sin and live their life, determining eternity.
This document provides a 5-day Bible study on worship. It discusses different aspects of worship, including that worship should be a daily lifestyle, not just something done on the Sabbath. Worship can be inward, upward, and outward focused. Inward worship examines one's thoughts and motives. Upward worship includes praise for who God is and thanksgiving for what he has done. Outward worship means sharing one's faith and helping others. The study also examines examples of worship in the Bible, such as by the people of Judah who were delivered when they worshipped God, and how encounters with God's presence transformed figures like Isaiah.
This document discusses the importance of love and putting up with others. It notes that total submission to God and trust in His lordship allows one to put up with anything or anyone. The goal of love should be Christ. Several reasons are provided for why people may not want to put up with others, such as loss of sight, pride, laziness, and focusing on self. However, when filled with God's love, one can see others through God's eyes and express lack of faith by refusing to tolerate others. Leading and discipling others for God is another reason to put up with others. The document concludes by stating aspects of one's identity and belonging as a citizen of heaven, representative of God, living stone

It asserts that Christians are citizens of heaven, representatives of God on Earth, and living stones in God's house. The document emphasizes that a Christian's agenda and ambition is God's will and service, they are crucified with Christ and abide in Jesus, and they are members of Christ's body, not of any particular church or leader.
The song "Jireh" praises God, referring to him as YHVH-Jireh which means "the LORD will provide". The song expresses that God sees and provides for our needs, and that through Jesus he has provided more than enough for our spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. It reflects on the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac, and how God provided a ram as a substitutionary sacrifice, foreshadowing that God would one day provide his son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for sin.
This document discusses the concept of "election" in Christianity and whether Jesus could be a candidate for president. Several Twitter posts argue that #JesusIsMyCandidate because he sacrificed himself, cared for the marginalized, and brought people together. The document then examines what election means biblically, discussing both Old and New Testament views, as well as perspectives from John Calvin and Karl Barth. It concludes that election refers to communities called to serve God and be a light to others, not just individual salvation.

It questions who will not fear God, given His universal fear, planting of His people, dwelling place, and establishment of His kingdom.
This document summarizes 1 Corinthians 8:1-11:1, outlining two main principles: Christian liberty explained and illustrated. Christian liberty must be balanced with love, understanding, and wisdom when it comes to matters of conscience regarding idols. Paul positively illustrated Christian liberty by exercising his rights but also surrendering them for the sake of the gospel. Israel in the wilderness negatively illustrated failing to separate from sin despite their spiritual privileges.
The document discusses Yeshua's conversation with the Samaritan woman, in which he offers her "living water." It explains that true worship is spiritual in nature and grounded in truth, and that God seeks true worshippers who worship him in spirit and in truth. The living water refers to the Holy Spirit, which satisfies the soul's thirst and brings life, virtues, and cleansing. Drinking this living water leads to renewal, refreshed faith, and sharing the gospel with others.
The document discusses the theme of choices, noting that while choices exist, not all choices are equally good or lead to the same outcomes. It provides several biblical examples of people faced with choices, such as the Pharisees who chose whether to follow or oppose Jesus. The conclusion emphasizes that God gives people free will to choose but ultimately desires they choose life, blessings, and to love and follow Him.

Women, children, and elderly were lined up on the left and men on the right. Those lined up on the left had their hair shaved off and were sent to cremation centers or gas chambers. How jesus became the greatest global brandJoseph Asoh
This is the story of Jesus, although He was Divine, chose to redeem humanity. Choosing to be born as a man through the womb of Virgin Mary, He endured nature’s harshness and wild nurture. Trapped in Human body, he subjected himself to all the frailties and inadequacies of man including suffering, weakness, hunger and death. Because of His complete obedience to the will of His Heavenly Father, God decided to give Him the highest honour available in all of Creation including heaven and earth – A Name that is above every other name, that at the Name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is LORD to the glory of God the Father! This is how Jesus became the greatest global brand ever!!

Spiritual gifts overlap and are meant to meet the needs of others according to one's faith. All believers are called to use their gifts to serve God and others, not relying on their own strength alone. The sequence in Romans emphasizes dedicating oneself, transforming thinking, and meeting needs through grace rather than guilt.

Gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit under the direction of Jesus Christ empowered by God the Father.

130203 eng in christ (part 4 - one in him) by ps. timothy loheaglepointcf

When the church is united, it brings God glory and allows the world to recognize that God sent Jesus.

Romans 14v11 15v7 when christians disagree 18 jan 2020Rodney Tan
This sermon summary focuses on Romans 14-15, addressing how Christians should accept, edify, and please one another despite disagreements. The sermon outlines that in the Roman church, some Christians strictly followed Jewish dietary laws and holy days while others enjoyed their freedom in Christ. This caused judging and condemnation. Paul teaches that Christians must accept one another as God has accepted both weak and strong believers. They should prioritize unity over non-essential issues and consider how their actions affect others rather than judging others or forcing their own opinions. The goal is to build one another up through love, understanding, and Christ-like service.
This document discusses the importance and challenges of forgiveness from a Christian perspective. It begins by stating that forgiveness is central to the good news of Jesus Christ and Christian living. It then explores why people have difficulty forgiving when hurt by others, and the negative effects of holding onto resentment instead of forgiving. The document provides biblical examples of forgiveness and distinguishes true forgiveness from forgetting, condoning, or absolving wrongs. It emphasizes that forgiveness is a process requiring strength, and discusses how prayer and focusing on God's unconditional love can help people forgive from the heart. Overall, the document promotes forgiveness as a way to find freedom, healing, and peace.
What does it mean to be unequally yoked? I contend that, given the literary of cultural/historical context of 2 Corinthians 6:14, Paul is most likely telling the Corinthian church not to become partners with those who were engaging in idol feasts in pagan temples -- for they (the church) are the temple of the Living God (cf. 1 Cor 3:16, 1 Cor 6:19).
Though few worship idols at pagan temples in our society today, there are several idols that are certainly worshiped (money, power, sexual immorality, self, etc.). As in the first century, we in the 21st century should not join others in idolatrous practices.

This document contains the notes from a sermon on John 14:6 and the exclusivity of Christianity. It discusses five reasons why Jesus is the only path to God: 1) God must be approached correctly as he is holy, 2) God's protocols for approaching him must be followed, 3) Jesus is the acceptable mediator between God and man, 4) Jesus's sacrifice is the only sacrifice that satisfies God's demands, 5) One must have the right attitude of assurance and gratitude in coming before God, which is only possible through Jesus. The document argues that while other religions exist, Christianity alone provides what is required for reconciliation with God.
John Oakes discusses freedom in Christ and asks what individuals have done with their freedom. He references 1 Corinthians 9:1-2 where Paul asserts his freedom. The document encourages using spiritual gifts and talents, referencing passages about building God's house, harvesting little despite planting much, and having a hole-filled purse. It questions one's vision and life's ministry, citing 1 Peter 4:10-11. The final section provides lyrics to the song "Hallelujah" praising God.

It describes three shifts caused by the Holy Spirit: the philosophical shift, the power shift, and the personal shift. It then discusses the need for a power shift in the church. It outlines nine spiritual gifts including revelation gifts, inspiration gifts, and power gifts. For each gift, it provides examples from the Bible and explanations. Finally, it emphasizes that believers must desire spiritual gifts, develop the gifts through prayer and God's word, and deploy the gifts to serve others.
This document discusses the nature and characteristics of God. It begins by quoting famous scientists and inventors about God. It then establishes that God created all things and is worthy of glory, honor and power. The three main characteristics of God discussed are that he is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. God is also described as loving, merciful and gracious. Several Bible verses are cited to support these points. The document emphasizes that God's love for humanity is unconditional. It concludes by encouraging the reader to respond to God through lifestyle worship and praise.
The document contains information about an upcoming church move including the schedule, contact information, and hospital list. It provides the last service details at the current building and first service details at the new Springville Road location. It also lists worship and Bible study times going forward at the new site and notes the church office phone number and email will change during the transition.
This document provides an analysis of Psalm 1. It discusses that Psalm 1 outlines two ways to live: following one's own way or God's way as directed by His word. God's way leads to blessing and prosperity, being rooted like a fruitful tree, while one's own way leads to instability and destruction, being like chaff blown by the wind. The document examines various parts of Psalm 1 in detail to draw out this key message about the importance of following God's directions over one's own way.
What is Jesus doing in heaven right now? Why hasn't Je returned to take us home? This study addresses some of these questions using the Sanctuary motif.
What is Worship? What are the words used in the New Testament for Worship? What does it involve? Is it just about singing? True Worship, Sacrifice and Offering.

This document discusses God's original plan for humanity to have dominion over the earth and its resources. It describes how Adam forfeited this position through disobedience but that Jesus restored it through his obedience. Now believers can regain dominion in the different spheres of society (mountains) through love, obedience and worship of God. As change agents in their spheres of influence, from business to government, Christians can see God's will manifest on earth as in heaven.
This document outlines 12 "Laws of Breakthrough" based on the biblical story of a man being healed at the gate called Beautiful in Acts 3:1-10. The 12 laws are: Agreement, Timing, Routine, Excellence, Access, Focus, Expectation, Content, Support, Progress, Visibility, and Awe. Each law is accompanied by a brief explanation or biblical verse reference.
The document describes a spiritual fast at Cornerstone Worship Center from January 8-28, 2018. It involves fasting from sunrise to progressively later times each week, as well as eliminating certain foods from the diet. The purpose is to align with God through fasting, set goals for a healthy lifestyle, and receive scriptural benefits like freedom from addiction or insight. Participants are encouraged to choose a type of fast and use the time for prayer, repentance, and overcoming temptation to seek God's guidance.
1) God gave humanity authority over the earth according to scripture, and Jesus gave believers the authority to complete his work through his name.
2) The pastor encourages believers to truly listen to what God says and walk in his authority, not be caught up in religion or darkness.
3) To walk in authority, believers must follow God's strategy of submission, accountability, and commitment (SAC) to his word and each other, not the enemy's strategy of pride, apathy, and confidence in the world.
The document provides details for a weekly event held every Monday morning from 6-6:21am. It lists a phone number and code for the Cornerstone Worship Center event.
The document lists the names of 10 women who are on the Women's Core Team and requests that people see one of these women after the service to sign up in the foyer.
The document describes several biblical passages about common experiences and practices of early Christians. It notes that the early Christians devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread together, and prayer. They shared possessions and distributed goods to those in need. It then describes how Ananias lied about monetary contributions, and was rebuked by Peter for lying not just to humans but to God. Further passages discuss common human experiences like temptation, and how thinking shapes being. The document emphasizes living according to common Christian beliefs.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible and focuses on delighting in and living by God's word. It was traditionally the first part of scripture children were taught to memorize in an acrostic format. Studying the word informs the intellect, illuminates practical application, inspires obedience, reveals new truths, helps one realize personal change, transforms character, and ultimately manifests Jesus' love in our lives and to others. The process of understanding and living out God's word is presented as being "as simple as ABC."
The document discusses Pastor Andrew Williams' sermon on "Our Light Afflictions". It describes Job as a perfect, upright man who feared God and shunned evil. Job experienced four tragic events where he lost his livestock, servants, and children due to attacks from others and natural disasters. Afflictions are defined as states of pain, distress or grief. The sermon notes that afflictions are common to all people, exist for the good of men to develop patience, and bring glory to God by allowing His strength to be made perfect in our weaknesses.
The Workmanship of the Believer-- Ephesians 5CstoneHampton
The document discusses the workmanship required of believers to imitate Christ. It says believers must be trained to restrain their flesh and live properly among one another through their physical, conversational, and imagined lives. True revival is needed to please God through repentance, transformation, and obeying His word and commands. Believers are called to walk in the light by developing the fruit of the Spirit and destroying anything that does not produce this fruit. Intimacy with God through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs is required to become the kind of believer who abounds in the Spirit rather than the ways of the world.
Belonging to God is key to fitting into one's proper place and environment. To belong is derived from a Hebrew word meaning "to God", and involves binding or reconciling together. Believing involves having faith and confidence in truth, derived from a Hebrew word meaning "to confirm". Becoming involves beginning as something and being transformed, derived from a Hebrew word meaning "to fall out and come to pass". The document then lists seven ways Jesus suffered to bring emotional, physical, and mental healing and covering to mankind.

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
