2. Colti is the village of the commune
with the same name in Buzău
County, Muntenia, Romania. The
access is from DN10 Buzău-Braşov
to Pătârlagele, then to Valea
Sibiciului-Colţi, another 13 km.
3. Colți museum collection
In 1973, the "Colti Museum Collection" was opened in the
village as a section of the Buzau County Museum. [3] The
collection, also known as the Amber Museum in Colts, the only
one of its kind in Romania, consists of amber rocks, raw and
processed amber, tools used for extracting and processing
amber, and acts related to mining. ] The most important pieces
in the collection are some amber pieces of over 1.5 kg, as well
as an earring with an ant. [4] There is also a collection of icons
and an ethnographic collection. The house where the collection
is exhibited was built in popular style between 1973 and 1974
and renovated in 1981 and 1983.
4. • The first amber mine was opened in the area in 1927 by
Dr. Dumitru Grigorescu. During the flowering of amber
extraction there were eight mines in Colti, which were
closed in turn. Some of them were detonated and blocked
and others remained open. [1] The last was closed in
1948. Colti is the only locality in Romania where the
amber, the fossilized resin, is found in the streams of the
brooks.
5. • The village of Alunis is certainly an extremely interesting
and impressive place with its historic importance and the
stunning landscape where it sinks. But in order to be truly
understood, a tourist guide is needed. Impressive are
also Dionis's stone-made canyon, which can be reached
only by a ladder, but also the Church of Joseph, which
was dug in the fourth century.
