The Texas STaR Chart is an assessment tool used by teachers, campuses, and districts in Texas to evaluate their progress on technology goals. It measures teaching and learning, educator preparation, leadership, and infrastructure in four categories: emerging, developing, maturing, and transforming. According to a 2006-2009 assessment, the campus discussed was considered "developing" in technology, meaning instruction is teacher-directed with minimal classroom tech use, and about half of classrooms have internet access. The STaR Chart is used for self-reflection to improve campus technology and prepare students.
