When you hear the word
salesman what words
spring to mind?
Words like
con artist,
crook,
trickster,
liar, and the
like …
The dictionary defines the
word selling as “to deceive,”
as in sell out your fellow
man or woman…
But the old English word for selling is…
Sellan…
Which means
"to give, furnish,
supply, deliver to,
or promise…"
The Swedish say that the
word selling was originally
“Selge” which means…
To Serve
Think about it
When you buy
something
Isn't the seller
Serving you?
When you deliver what somebody
has paid you for, aren’t you
in fact, serving them?
Daniel Pink wrote a
book called,
“To Sell Is Human,”
In his book he says that,
“Today everyone is
in sales.”
The truth is – nothing happens
in business until a sale
is made…
And if your online– nothing
happens until the sales copy
is written…
It’s obvious that if you’re in business
you’re in sales…
If you agree, keep watching…
So, if to sell is human then
is not to sell inhuman?
I think the problem most of us have
when we think about selling is…
we don’t want to come across as
some smarmy guy who brushes
his hair with buttered
toast…
Okay, so how do we make sales
in business without selling?

What’s the difference between
presuasion and persuasion?

Persuasion is something that happens
when you meet a potential client…
Presuasion focuses on when to influence.
and that time is before people notice
they are being influenced…
Because of Web 2.0 and Social Media
buyers can do all the research
they need to do on their own…
To discover FOR THEMSELVES
if you should be on their radar
to help them…
Solve their pressing problem…
Did you know that …
of the decision to buy…
has already taken place…
before they come to you?
That means you must say the right things
in the right way, to the right people…
At the right
time…
Write this down
and pin it up…
And you do that with…

This works because the word “but” negates
everything that came before it…
You may want to be a little more subtle…

but when I showed him exactly how it worked
his laughter turned to amazement …”
