Website Aim
• The aim of the website is to present Key Stage
  3 and 4 physics (ages 11 – 16) in an exciting
  and engaging way using Formula 1 racing.

• This is based on the idea of presenting
  contenting from the National Curriculum
  through distinct sections of formula 1
     – the cockpit, pitstop, garage and race.
Motivations
• Science outreach strong educational
  component
• Science needs to be engaging and fun
• F1 racing = platform for presenting such ideas
• F1 racing - strong scientific ideas and engineering
  principles
• To my knowledge, this has not been exploited as
  a free educational tool, though a lot of
  subscription based educational content is
  available, for example F1 in schools website.
Target Audience
• Key stage 3 and 4 physics students of the ages 11 – 16.
• Mainly boys
• should be interesting for younger children, and young adults keen to learn
  more about the “Science of Speed”.

• F1 is very popular with both adults and children/their children.

• In a report on “The Business of Formula One” Bernie Ecclestone states
  that

“the FIA Formula One World Championship is the most widely watched annual
sports event in the world, with viewing figures of around 100 million per
race”.

• Teachers and parents
Content
• 5 content areas

• 1 = teachers and parents.

• The other sections will be aimed at students,
  and each will be aesthetically “located” in an
  area of F1 – be it the cockpit, garage, pitstop
  or race.
