Website Aim
• The aim of the website is to present Key Stage
  3 and 4 physics (ages 11 – 16) in an exciting
  and engaging way using Formula 1 racing.

• This is based on the idea of presenting
  contenting from the National Curriculum
  through distinct sections of formula 1
     – the cockpit, pitstop, garage and race.
Content
• 5 content areas

• 1 = teachers and parents.

• The other sections will be aimed at
  students, and each will be aesthetically
  “located” in an area of F1 – be it the
  cockpit, garage, pitstop or race.

Assessment of Site

• Layout – follows original layout plan. Each page has a
  similar layout.

• Navigation – by use of start lights and links, presence of
  sitemap

• Usability – hovering over pop-ups, intuitive?

• Readability – tried to use clear colour scheme, handwritten
  type font to tie in with hand-drawn images

• Accessibility – aimed at specific target group &
  teachers, information written in photoshop , designed as
  teaching resource, perhaps one of a series of applied
  science?
Feed-back
Site tested on neighbour’s children:
• Boy, Age 9:
“I like the cars, they look cool. I like that there isn’t lots of writing. It’s not
boring.”

• Girl, Age 12:
“It’s cool that you have to find the information on the page. It makes it more
fun than it just being written out. I don’t really like cars but I like this website”.

• Girl, Age 14:
“It’s more interesting than just being told something by a teacher, or reading
things in a book.”

• Boy, Age 11:
“I like it. When you look at the website, you want to find out more. It doesn’t
feel like you are learning, it’s just fun to look around”.
