2. Camera Shots/Angles:
Opens with Extreme Close Ups of the character
cutting her hair, these are the emphasis her
dramatic change in character. There is a high angle
shot of a character running which can make the
character seem vulnerable, and as if she is running
away from something (Danger?). Most of the close
ups in the film trailer are character driven and are
used to introduce the main characters of the film.
There is an establishing shot of the bar, which
suggests it could be a significant location in the
film. There is a series of wide shots to establish
locations. One of the main female characters is made
to appear inferior oppose to the male
character who is appears as a superior
character. This is done by using high angle
and low angle camera shots

3. Editing
The trailer starts of with slow editing and longer
clips. It was also deliberately slowed down when
introducing the characters.
The style and the colour of font used is all relatable
to the logo of the band.
Half way through the trailer the editing changes and
it starts to use fades instead of jump cuts when they
have discovered that they have been signed. This
gives the trailer a ‘dream-like’ effect and therefore
suggests that getting signed was their dream.
Every time they introduce a new character there is a
camera sound which links to the ideas of fame and
paparazzi . The name of the character is also printed
on the screen in a familiar font to the logo and in the
same colour, which tells us the actresses name and
the character they are playing.

4. Sound
The music at the beginning of the trailer is very upbeat and links in
with the plot of the film, with the music being punk and having a
female singer. Then half way through the mood changes after they
have ‘been signed’. The song that begins to play is called ‘Crimson
and clover’ by Joan Jett and the black heart. The film trailer is based
around this character ‘Joan Jett’. Then at the end of the trailer, the
music changes once again when showing a live show of theirs and it
then syncs in with the another song by the band called ‘Cherry
bomb’
The voiceover at the beginning is sort of narrating about how this
band came together and talks about it from a personal point of
view, suggesting that the character talking will play a major role. The
second half of the trailer is voiced over by a male voice, suggesting
that he maybe comes in and becomes a large part of their lives

5. Mise-en-scene
The costumes used are all very relevant to the
style and to the time in which the film is set
(1970’s), with the idea of typical punk rock and
the rugged, messy look.
The lighting used throughout the film is fairly
dark, suggesting the film isn’t happy and of the
comedy genre.
The colour red is quite current throughout the
trailer. The colour denotes lust, passion and
blood. It can also link to the band logo which is
in red.
All the sets used are also relevant and the
furniture and the patterns used would have
been popular in the 1970’s.
