Candy Bars Vs Flower Fundraiser
Have you ever thought about starting a different kind fundraiser at our school? Well, I have, and I
think a flower fundraiser would be a great option. Who doesn t like flowers? Selling flowers could
help us raise money for the school in many aspects. You could even sell the flowers individually or by
the dozen. Purchasing flowers, in large quantities, would cost less. A flower fundraiser would be more
beneficial than candy bars because you wouldn t have to buy as many flowers as bars, and you will get
more profit from the flowers. A flower fundraiser will require fewer items to be sold and make more
money for each item sold. For the school to make a $1000 profit for a flower fundraiser, you would
need to purchase 883 flowers.

Growth Of Mobile Phones Essay
Despite continued dynamic growth in the South African information and communication technology
(ICT) sector, most significantly in the mobile sector, this growth has yet to meet the national goals of
affordable access for all South Africans to the full range of information and communication services.
Access to mobile voice and data continues to grow, however broadband access (in particular fixed line
broadband) remains comparatively and noticeably lower than other lower to middle income countries.
Prices of all communication services in South Africa continue to remain high by both global and and
most noticeably, African standards.
Growth in the ICT sector has consistently risen at almost twice the national growth rate, and today ...

There are now few differences, in use of basic voice and SMS services, between mobile phone users
in urban and rural areas, or between those at the top of the pyramid (ToP) and those at the base of the
pyramid (BoP). (RIA South Africa 2012 Household and Individual ICT Access and Use Survey)
The increased availability of the latest smart devices at lower costs, along with some respite in the
costs of mobile data services has also sparked the rapid increase of mobile phone usage by both
personal and business users. The establishment of a mobile termination rate (MTR) by the seemingly
ineffective sector regulator, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has
gone some way to dropping mobile phone charges, but is still some way off from making the access
truly affordable and competitive by global standards. However, due to the MTR, Telkom Mobile and
Cell C, the smallest of the four main mobile operators in South Africa have been able to put some
pressure on Vodacom and MTN, leading to more competitive packages being offered on both voice
and data across all networks. This is still insignificant when one considers that the cheapest prepaid
mobile phone product is South Africa is nearly 750% more expensive than the cheapest similar
product in Africa. Despite a drop in South African voice charges since the onset of MTR reductions,
the huge drop in voice usage and upsurge in data usage is having a

Why I Was A Kid
When I was a kid, I would always hear my mom and the other adults talk about how they were going
to move us out and come back to the city. They was a reference to white people and us referred to
minorities in the inner city. This was back in Milwaukee in the early 1980 s, now every city that I go
to and visit this myth seems to follow. It wasn t until I moved to Atlanta and over the last ten years, I
saw the city change right before my very eyes. I noticed nice condos going up in Midtown Atlanta,
nice homes being built in East Atlanta and expensive apartments in areas like the West End and Sweet
Auburn District. After seeing some of the prices for these new apartments and homes, I knew there
was no way that the current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What will happens to these long term residents, where do they go now? If suburbanites are taking
flight back to the city, what will the face of Atlanta look like in ten years? The inner city residents will
probably be given vouchers for Section 8 housing in less desirable areas in the city where jobs and
transportation are scarce. As for the later, in the next ten years Atlanta will go from predominantly
black and liberal landscape to a more white conservative population, if we aren t including or afforded
the benefits of gentrification. The exodus of the Black poor and working class to the suburbs, will in
effect lead to the loss of Black politicians and old time supporters of the old Atlanta.
Will gentrification radically alter a neighborhood? Does so called cleaning up really change anything,
or is it just straightening it up , making it look more attractive for visitors. Atlanta s populus in urban
areas continues to grow, but this growth is now being fueled by existing suburban residents and yuppie
transplants from other states, streaming current residents further out of the city. Africans Americans
once held a strong hold as the majority in Atlanta, but that grip is slowly weakening as white residents
are experiencing population growth as the blacks temper off. It has

Executive Summary: The global luxury goods marketplace in the past decade has experienced nothing
short of a complete evolution and transformation. This industry has endured global economic
downturns in advanced economies such as the United States requiring them to branch out of their
comfort zones and expand into emerging markets specifically the BRIC countries. These Asian nations
possess high GDP rates that are anticipated to increase significantly in the upcoming years. Luxury
goods were once a possession of strictly the wealthy, brand conscious consumer with a high

Gray Markets LVMH has found that gray markets, markets where a firm s product are sold or resold
through unauthorized dealers, are a significant problem. In Japan, handbags cost more than 40% more
than they did in France (Nikoemeran). This difference in price created a gray market where groups
from Japan would fly to France to purchase Louis Vuitton handbags for resale through parallel
channels in Japan. These gray markets can create a number of problems for LVMH. The first is the
dilution of the exclusivity, where the exclusive rights of distributors are watered down due to the
influx of additional distributors of the same product. The result is a drop in margins for distributor
(Sloan). A second problem gray markets create is free riding. Free riding occurs when authorized
distributors start skimping on important services they provide to promote a product, such as presale
service, education on product attributes and sales person training. This reduction in services causes the
customers of high end brands, who value these services, to abandon the brand (Sloan). The third
problem caused by gray markets is damage to channel relationships. Manufacturers spend a lot of time
and money establishing relationships with their distribution network. The result of gray markets is
unhappy distributor(s) that could greatly affect the flow of a manufacturer s product and therefore
could be very costly (Sloan).

Ethical Issues In A Few Good Men
In the book A Few Good Men there is a lot of ethical issues presented in the book by Aaron Sorkin.
The first big ethics presented in the book was honor and commitment. The big ethical question
presented in the book was, should you always follow orders even if you know they are wrong?
Santiago a guy from Dawson and Downey squad, was killed by a rag stuffed in his throat where it was
hard for him to breathe and plus he had a medical condition that sped up the speed of his death.
Downey and Dawson were ordered by their commander, Colonel Jessup ordered them to do that to
Santiago which was the code red, which he specifically told the rest of the platoon to leave Santiago
alone. Dawson and Downey were just following orders given to them.

Essay about Biography of Robert Frost
Biography of Robert Frost
Robert Frost is perhaps one of America s best poets of his generation. His vivid images of nature
capture the minds of readers. His poems appear to be simple, but if you look into them there is a lot of
insight. Robert Frost spoke at John F. Kennedy s inauguration. He is the only poet to have had the
opportunity to speak at a presidential inauguration. Through his poetry people learn that Robert Frost
is a complicated and intellectual man who has a place in many American hearts. (Richards P.10) In
order to understand where Robert Frost is coming from in his poetry it is important to learn about the
experiences in his life. Robert Frost was born on March 26, 1874 in San Francisco. His father was

While he is in England he writes many poems such as, Choose Greatly and Nothing but what we
somehow choose. These poems reflect greatly upon choosing what you want. Perhaps Frost does not
choose to go to England but I m sure he was glad that he goes. (Pritchard P.8) Once Frost and his
family went to England they situate themselves in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. This is the place
near where Milton finished Paradise Lost . It is a very nice place where Frost could concentrate on his
poetry. One of Frost s first poems he wrote in England was called In England. Alone in rain I sat today
On top of a gate beside the way, And a bird came near with muted bill And a watery breeze kept
blowing chill From over the hill behind me.
I could not tell what in me stirred To hill and gate and rain and bird, Till lifting hair and bathing brow
The watery breeze came fresher now From over the hill to remind me. This poem never had a chance
to be published during Frost s life. The poem is pretty self explanatory. To me it is obvious that it is
written while he is in England. The mention of rain and watery breezes give it away because England
is surrounded by water. I believe that Frost knew that he could make his career work in England. The
line The watery breeze came fresher now From over the hill to remind me makes me think that
England would give him new inspiration. Everything he did in

While expanding his empire, Napoleon promoted certain enlightened ideologies; however, Napoleon s
self glorification corrupted his enlightened principles. Napoleon s military and political success

hindered his progress as an enlightened figure. Napoleon s actions politically and militarily were all
fueled by his insatiable desire to self exalt. Napoleon was assuredly the greatest ruler of his time, but
his need to self glorify undermined his enlightened policies. Napoleon promoted numerous policies

Homeless And Homelessness
The word homeless is used to describe a person without a home, and therefore typically living on the
streets. Homelessness is described as part of a vicious circle that is difficult for many to escape.
More temporary shelters and rehabilitation sessions to help individuals find employment should be
provided to assist the homeless in recovering their previous life.
Many homeless individuals, especially the young, have fallen victim to a complex mesh of social,
economic and mental disadvantages. In 2009, a study by social researchers in Melbourne s RMIT
showed that 30% of homeless people suffered from a mental disorder.

Art and Nature in Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale Essay
Art and Nature in Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale
In Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale , we see a jealous king convinced he is search of the truth. He will
expose his wife and her alleged philandering, but his determination to prove this actually changes this
search from one for truth to one for myths creations, false truths. In essence. Leontes runs into the
conflict of defining art versus nature, where art is the view of the world he constructs to prove his
paranoia true. Nature itself can exist without art, but the art here is the mangled perception through
which Leontes will seek to define Nature. In summation, The Winter s Tale investigates the conflict
between art and nature creation versus enhancement and seeks to find out if ... Show more content on

In other words, the assumed unfaithfulness of his wife, will wreak havoc, like a galactic body. This is
a bizarre comparison a wife and her alleged infidelity to a planet in outer space that will destruct in the
name of vengeance. As bizarre as it is, it accomplishes the task of enhancing the dichotomy of what is
real and what is a fabrication of imagination. Art, in The Winter s Tale is not merely expression but
creation over nature. As his paints a dramatically depressed view of reality, it becomes clear how his
perception of what is actually in nature has been heinously corrupted because of a search for truth
predicated on validating flippant worries. He carries on: To mingle friendship far is mingling bloods. I
have tremor cordis on me. My heart dances, but not for joy, not joy. , showing the extent to which he
cannot see the truth what is actually present in nature, but also how manically crazed he is. For
example, Leontes seems to think nothing is odd about calling his son into speak to him, and merely
asking, Mamillius, art thou my boy? . His tone here is light, and conveys this idea that not only is what
he asking logical and understandable but normal. It speaks volumes to art s influence on Leontes to
make him so selfish and wrapped up in his own desperate story.

Theme Of Government Control In V For Vendetta
In Both James McTeigue film V for Vendetta and Kurt Vonnegut s 2BR02B short story, In both texts
authors presents a Fraudulent government which has control over its society. In 2BR02B the
government runs the Federal Bureau of Termination gas chambers where the suicides occur. V For
Vendetta tells a story about a revolutionary character who battles to ruin, and in the long run
overthrow the apparently rightist government that tenets England. James McTeigue and Kurt Vonnegut
use characterisation, symbolism and setting to show government control over society.
Characterisation
In the film V for vendetta , author James McTeigue has displayed how the government has enforced
people to believe that freedom equals chaos, which is what the main character V wants to expose to
the nation. There is one important scene which discusses freedom it is during V s speech to the nation,
which he exposes the lies created by the government and urging people to fight against.
V for Vendetta demonstrates rebellion against injustice through the main character V. He was a
casualty of illicit genetic testing by the government with an end goal to assist their insight about the
human body s capacity to survive epidemics. V was the only one left standing and was able escape
from the torture. His hatreds then turned into vengeance. He declared to bring justice to the nation and
overthrow the injustice of the government. Kurt Vonnegut s also maneuvers the story to show the main
character Edward wehling as the victim to the government regime. Wehling lives in a cutting edge
United States where age and illnesses were vanquished and there were no detainment facilities, slums,
challenged people, poverty, or wars. The population was at a controlled 40 million yearly. Edward
wehling attributes of being overruled come to show when he was holding up in the hospital, arranged
to give his granddad to the Federal Bureau of Termination keeping in mind the end goal was to give
one of his three kids a chance to live. While waiting, he converses with a painter who is painting a

A Work Life Balance Intervention Essay
A Work Life Balance Intervention
Introduction
Historically the concept of reinsurance has been around for thousands of years and the more modern
concept of insuring the insurance company has evolved over last couple hundred years. My company,
Reinsurance Group of America, RGA was established exclusively on this concept and recently
celebrated its 40th year anniversary. In my department almost one third of the underwriting staff will
be retirement eligible in the next five to ten years. Staffing challenges to serve the life underwriting
market are stronger than ever. To combat the alarming loss of industry expertise, we have made a
concerted effort to focus on increasing our staff through both traditional and more contemporary
means. We are bring on additional staff from the industry as well as internal training programs to grow
new underwriters. The fresh workforce is striving for a work life balance that is unknown to our
department. Although reinsurance underwriting is a reputable profession providing adequate
opportunity for career advancement and pay, the new workforce is demanding additional benefits
including job flexibility. This evolution of the workforce has confronted a mechanistic, hierarchical
department. Resistance and slow change is compounded by the original, well established management
team which has only begun to retire over the last ten years, high expenses associated with extensive

Conclusion Of Forensic Accounting
Maurice E. Peloubet is credited with developing the term forensic accounting in his 1946 essay
Forensic Accounting: Its
Place in Today s Economy. By the late 1940s, forensic accounting had proven its worth during World
War II; however, formalized procedures were not put in place until the 1980s when major academic
studies in the field were published
(Rasey, 2009). Since the 1980s in some Western countries, particularly in the USA, a new profession
in the field of accounting and auditing has emerged. This profession identifies a field composed of
accounting, auditing, and investigative skills (Ozkul and Pamukc, 2012).
Forensic accounting is the area of the accountancy area which describes engagements that result from

forerunner to the above view,
Manning (2002) also defines forensic accounting as the application of financial accounting and
investigative skills to a standard acceptable by the courts to address issues in dispute in the context of
civil and criminal litigation . While this study agrees that financial scandals in business organization
have raised the awareness that accountants should be alert to potential fraud and other illegal activities

Analysis Of Krashen s Theory Of Language Acquisition
OPTION A: Krashen s Theory of Language Acquisition in my School District The Chicago Public
Schools district, in which I work, offers a program for English Language learners with the goal to help
students become proficient in the English language. In Chicago Public School there are about 70, 400
students who in 2015 were identified as being English Language Learners. According to Chicago
Public Schools, English Language Learners have a right to participate in an educational program for
English Learners. In order for a student to participate in the English Language Learner program,
students must first be classified or identified as an English Language Learner. Chicago Public Schools
identifies students as English Learners by having each student complete a survey when they enroll in a
Chicago Public School for the first time. The parent or the legal guardian completes a survey that
includes a home language survey that asks two questions: 1. Is a language other than English spoken
in the home; 2. Does the student speak a language other than English? If the answers given are that
yes the student speaks another language and yes a language other than English is spoken in the home;
then, the student is classified as an English Language Learner. The next step is to test the student s
English proficiency level. This is done by testing the student and assessing his/her listening, speaking,
reading, and writing skills. After the student is tested, depending on the results of

A Study Of A Friend Dealing With Identity Crisis
In this case study, the writer will view a study of a friend dealing with identity crisis. For identity
purposes the writer will name the friend Mary.
Demographic Description of the Client Mary is a 58 year old single African American female who
lives in Atlanta Ga. with two adult daughters and one granddaughter and one grandson. Both
grandchildren are under the age of ten. Mary was married to an FBI agent, and they divorced in the 90
s. Mary is slender built with curves any woman would envy and charming. Most importantly she is
born again and loves the Lord. According to Sabar, we can never completely and utterly comprehend
the other s experience. To gain the best understanding possible of the other we need to appreciate the
way they configure themselves in relation to the environment, the patterns they paint as they relate to
their world and those they meet in their world, the way they shape and form their experience. How the
individual forms and then moves on from one experience to another. A person transitions through
many stages of life. Those different stages cause a person to feel different about themselves in a
negative manner depending on their lifestyle.
Presenting Problem
Mary sought to counsel because of her low self esteem about her life. Mary desires a husband as her
friends. She noticed being angry a lot and slashing out at her daughters and speaking negative remarks
toward them and their boyfriends. She does not have many friends because some women

The Impact Of Unemployment On Aboriginal And Torres Strait...
One social determinant that impacts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is unemployment.
According to the Australian Census in 2011, 56% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population
in Australia were participating in the labour force, however, 17.2% of this population were
unemployed but seeking employment (Australian Bureau of Statistics [ABS], 2013). Comparing these
numbers to the non indigenous population, the percentage of the indigenous population in the labour
force is significantly lower than non indigenous Australians, with a difference of 20.5% (ABS, 2013).
Through my learning of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing, it was mentioned
that most indigenous people were unemployed or experienced poverty, the statistics allowed me to put
these statements into perspective. Upon learning this I felt quite shocked and alarmed at the high rates
of people that were not working or even trying to find work. It gave me a better understanding of how
seeking employment for indigenous people may be a stressful and daunting process. But it also made
me think on how unemployment can affect the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

with Pharr s (2012) and Janlert s (2014) researches on the impact of unemployment on mental and
physical health. Both concluded similarly that people who have been unemployed for prolonged
period have poor mental health compared to the employed, Pharr (2012) also stated that unemployed
people are hesitant to receive medical treatment for physical health due to cost. Stress contributes to
poor mental health but also feelings of disappointment and shame towards

Dog Training Advice And College Study Advice
Teaching a dog to lay down seems different than studying for a Biology exam, but online advice on
both topics are surprisingly similar. Both dog training advice and college studying advice include the
need for consistency, frequency, and repetition, along with using both types of reinforcement. Despite
these similarities, dogs and students differ in what they are learning and how exactly they show that
they have learned. Advice to college students and dog trainers are comparable in fundamental ways;
their methods and reactions to conditioning are similar but what exactly the person or dog is learning
can make it seem as if the two types of advice have very little in common. Studying and dog training
advice both include the need for frequency, consistency, and repetition. The ASPCA (n.d.) states that,
once a dog has learned a trick, trainers should regularly test the dog throughout the day to ensure the
dog remembers how to perform it. Dogs also learn quicker when using the same phrases each training
session, such as using only lay down for a command versus mixing it with get down . Finally, the
ASPCA also recommends that training sessions should be kept relatively short; trainers should only
practice a new trick five to fifteen times before switching to a previously learned trick ( Training Your
Dog ). Dog training advice is fundamentally based on these three ideas; frequency, consistency, and
repetition speed the rate at which a dog can learn new material.

Income Inequality Essay
Income Inequality Among Developing Countries and Their Relations To The Affluent World
On September 25th of 2015, the United Nations adopted a comprehensive initiative to combat a wide
variety of global health issues that currently plague humanity. The initiative, entitled UN Sustainable
Development Goals includes a list of seventeen goals to be achieved over the next fifteen years and
encompasses measures to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. This paper
intends to provide an in depth analysis of the tenth UN
Sustainable Development Goal: Reducing income inequalities.
Income inequality is a problematic reality of the modern era that slows economic growth, generates
political instability, causes health problems and creates severe social inequalities among children. As
part of this analysis, determinants of this global issue will be discussed as well as its correlation with
globalization. Lastly, suggestions will be provided to the global community with regards to possible
solutions to income inequality, as well as a discussion about the potential roles and responsibilities for
Canadians in response to the issue.
Although many milestones have been reached on the road to eradicate mass poverty, a large disparity
still exists, otherwise known as income inequality. The issue currently pertains to the rich and poor. It
is illustrated among a macroeconomic level (between countries), as well as a microeconomic level
(within countries).

History Of An Atom. In This Day And Age, Almost Every...
History of an Atom
In this day and age, almost every educated middle school student would be able to sketch and label a
given diagram of an atom. However, still to this day, not one human has seen what an atom looks like.
Our current atomic model, the same one in which you most likely learnt in 5th grade, is really just an
educated theory, comprised of years of experimental trials and errors. In fact, the original four
elements, introduced by ancient philosopher Aristotle: Fire Air, Water, and Earth, were once believed
the only elements forming natural matter. Although frowned upon by the ancient Greek society,
philosophers Leucippus and Democritus developed their own theoretical understanding of nature.
Their theory concluded that every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His diagram quickly gained the label plum pudding, as the electrons similarly resembled the plum
slices inside of a pudding.
1909: Ernest Rutherford
The atomic model evolved to a familiar diagram following the results of Rutherford s popular gold
foil experiment. Essentially, a student of Rutherford s class had been examining the possible pattern of
positively charged particles contacting the element of gold. While filming the student s examination,
Rutherford noticed that most of the particles flew straight through, and only a tiny portion either
bounced straight back or off of an angle. If Thomson s model was correct, all of the radium particles
should have bounced off of the foil however, they did not. This led Rutherford to believe that the
positive charge of an atom is not equal to the whole of an atom, but rather an even smaller core,
located in the middle of the atom, surrounded by the negatively charged electrons. He concluded that
the atom is mostly empty space, and that most of the atoms mass came from the small central core
which he declared the nucleus.
1913: Niels Bohr
Niels Bohr, a former student of Rutherford, proposed his own theory: the quantum theory. Furthering
Rutherford s model, Bohr insisted that electrons spin around the nucleus in fixed orbits , such as
planets around the sun. The outer inner orbit/s have only a certain amount of constant energy,

Essay on International Warfare
International Warfare
International warfare has always been a topic of debate and that debate increased greatly throughout
the 1990s. The conduct of individual states, previously regarded as an exclusively domestic matter, is
now of international concern. That international concern has spread to encompass several areas within
the domain of international warfare, from the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty to the Genocide Convention to
the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti Personnel
Mines and on their Destruction. It is this last treaty that has been the subject of much international
attention in the last few years. That attention was generated through a multitude of causes including:

contingent committed to the elimination of the anti personnel land mine. Sizable efforts have been
made to make the Convention an all inclusive effort to ban anti personnel land mines and stop their
devastating effects on the world s communities. However, since the drafting of the treaty in 1997 and
its subsequent entry into force, only 122 nations have signed and ratify the treaty. 50 states parties
remain as non signatories, including the United States.[ii] This fact has lead to a large amount of
public outcry and questioning in the international community. It is in looking at how the United States
has chosen to answer the questions and the actions they have taken that the truth of the issue comes to
the fore.
The most publicized usage of the anti personnel mine is by the United States of America. While the
U.S. ceased exporting their anti personnel land mines in 1993, the use of mines throughout the world
has continued.[iii] Up until 1999, the United States relied on the use of anti personnel mines as a
means of protection in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.[iv] It was that removal of the anti personnel mines in
Cuba, contracted under the United States lease on Guantanamo Bay, that U.S. President Bill Clinton
tried to use a bargaining chip in treaty negotiations. Beyond the usage in Cuba, the United States also

Flat Tax Vs. The Progressive Tax System
When comparing the benefits and issues between the flat tax and the progressive tax, it is important to
understand the way these two systems operate in today s economy. The flat tax can be defined as a tax
that requires every individual to pay the same rate of deduction regardless of their income. On the
other hand, a progressive tax can be defined as a tax where the tax rate is increased based on the
income a person earn. This system is operated through the use of tax brackets, where the levels of
income are divided into different ranges with each range having a tax rate more significant than the
range below it. Furthermore, when evaluating the efficiency of both of these tax systems, one may
discover that the progressive tax system provides several different factors that contribute to the
efficiency of the economy in United States. The progressive tax system enables the government to
fund services that meet the crucial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the conflicts that people may argue toward this system is that it may discourage people from
earning more income because their higher income may be taxed at a higher rate. For instance, since
any head of the household who earns an income between $13,250 to $50,400 is taxed at the rate of
%15, they may lose more of their savings when compared to the tax bracket below them, which taxes
5% less. Therefore, people may consider maintaining their income at anywhere below $13,250 to
avoid having it taxed a higher rate. In addition, some may also argue that this system fails to
encourage people to invest in businesses because of the significant rates the government may tax on
their additional profit and the initial opening of their establishment. This leads to a form of
socioeconomic inequality between those who can afford to pay the tax on opening a business and
those who can only afford to invest in purchasing a

Childhood Apraxia Of Speech Analysis
Childhood apraxia of speech demonstrates a broad range of specific speech characteristics. A variety
of diagnostic descriptions entail characteristic symptoms throughout the stages of development.
According to ASHA, the origin and clinical traits of CAS continues, although many researchers and
clinicians are in agreement that it s a motor speech disorder. The most important characteristics are the
inconsistency of mistakes on consonants and vowels that are replicated in the production of words and
syllables. Another fundamental aspect of CAS is the disruption of co articulatory transitions. During
coarticulation, the speech of children with CAS is discovered to be sturdier and more prolonged than
of a typically developing child (Nijland et al., 2002, 2003). The disorder of CAS shows to be defined
by its speech characteristics, but it also demonstrates impairments associated with other linguistics and
non verbal functions. There has been few research found pertaining to neuropsychological behaviors,
studies have emphasized more of motor behavior, memory and sensory processing traits. ... Show

Francis Fukuyama and Samuel Huntington are two of the most controversial and influential modern

Huntington s book, The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, pose two very
conflicting theories on international relations. In this paper I will summarize and compare/contrast the
two theories. Both theories, written since the fall of communism and updated since the first gulf war,

To understand Fukuyama s theory one must look beyond the specific words. Fukuyama is not
claiming that history has or will end and that occurrences of history will cease to exist. He is saying
that democracy is such a perfect and Idealistic form of rule that no major change in political
philosophy can happen in the future. Historical occurrences will still exist, but they will be within the
realm of the current political philosophical thought. Fukuyama goes even further to prove his point by
showing that the new philosophies on government created since the oncoming of democracy,
(Communism, Socialism, etc.) have ultimately failed and democracy has prevailed in its place.
In the Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, Samuel Huntington argues that the
primary political actors in the 21st century will be civilizations and that the primary conflicts will be
conflicts between these civilizations rather then between nation states.
Huntington Writes:
It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not be primarily
ideological or primarily economic. The great divisions among humankind and the dominating source
of conflict will be cultural. Nation states will remain the most powerful actors in world affairs, but the
principal conflicts of global politics will occur between nations and groups of different civilizations.

Atlantic Revolution Effects
Atlantic Revolution consisted of the North American Revolution, the French revolution, the Haitian
Revolution, and the Spanish American Revolution. The French Revolution was one of the eras of great
disruption through Europe. French Revolution was closely connected with North American
Revolution. Thousands of French soldiers provided assistance to the American colonies. When the
French soldiers returned home, they were full of republican enthusiasm. After helping the American
Colonies, France was on the edge of bankruptcy and had long pursued reforms that would renovate the
tax system and make it more justifiable. This new system reduced the incomes of the ordinary men
and women, but they raised the price of bread. In result of this there was a rapid increase of
unemployment. Peasants were exposed to a variety of hated fees forced by their landlords, taxes,
duties to the Church, and were required to work without pay on the public roads. These conflicts, in

The Piedmont Essay
The Piedmont is located between the Coastal Plain and the Mountain regions, in the middle region of
the state. The origins of Piedmont are French, meaning foot of the mountain , because it s located at
the base of the Appalachians Mountains. From the western Coastal Plane to the mountains, the
elevations range from about 300 feet to near 1,500 feet (Seaman 2006). The fall line, or fault zone, lies
between the Coastal Plain and the Piedmont. The rivers that flow along the fault line are formed from
shoals, low waterfalls and rapids. As the rivers flow from the Piedmont to the coastal Plain the rocks
become younger and softer. The streams below the fall line are usually lethargic and smooth flowing.
The streams above the fall line are gravelly and shallow, making boating difficult. As for the land, the
Piedmont is called a plateau because it is high and mostly flat. Most geologist separate the Piedmont

The Horizon Oil Rig Explosion
The 2010 Horizon Oil Rig Explosion
On April 20th, 2010 an explosion occurred that would be considered one of the worst oil spills in U.S.
history. The explosion was cause by a surge of natural gas that made it way to the Horizon rig s
platform that ignited. This caused the rig to capsize and sink, thus breaking risers that were being use
to counter act the large amount of pressure from oil and natural gasses (Pallardy, 2015). The explosion
killed 11 workers and injured 17 others. The explosion caused a massibe leak in the oil wellhead. It
took 87 days for the wellhead to be closed and it is estimated that over that time around 210 million
gallons of oil leaked into the gulf (Gulf Oil Spill, 2011). BP workers tried to activate a blowout
prevent that was part of the Horizon rig s design. This mechanism was supposed to close off any way
to draw out oil bu the mechanism malfunctioned due to the pressure form the gas and oil that cause the
explosion (Pallardy, 2015). The explosion happened a few miles from the Loop Current which is a
large current of warm water in the Gulf that covers a massive amount of distance making it easy from
the oil to spread (Treudaburg Gramling, 2010). Over the next couple of months they tried a variety of
different caps to try to stem the flow of oil but they were generally unsuccessful and oil still leaked
through. It wasn t until July that the flow was finally stopped by a functional blowout preventer cap
(Pallardy, 2015).

Literary Analysis Of The House Of Mirth
House of Mirth is a novel that revolves on Lily Bart trying to find a husband in order to have a
successful life and gives a glimpse to upper class society in the late 1800s and early 1900s. For the
first passage, Selden ponders on Lily Bart. For the second passage, Lily talks to Gerty about her true
intentions of marriage when Lily is distressed about her current state and the choices she has made.
Through a close reading of the two passages, the diction, grammatical elements, and poetic devices
utilized in these passages help unearth the hidden messages of those passages. For the first passage,
through diction, the passage sheds new light. The words no less conscious convey that Selden was not
less aware about what people talked about Lily after getting to know Lily better through their talks at
his flat and Bellomont. The words the woman he knew indicate the version of Lily which Selden has

that most of her friends perceive. However, they fail to perceive Lily s true self, since Lily attempts a

Within Group Dynamics, there are many factors that goes into structured group, and as an observer I
feel this was a very rewarding experience. I feel that hearing concepts of group dynamics, and then
seeing the concepts in action expands an individual s knowledge on the subject. Seeing the leadership
s skill and the processes of a facilitator can influence aspiring facilitators, and give them the
experience they need. For my structured group, I decided to go to Greenleaf, and observe an
adolescent depression group. This was most definitely a treatment group, because its main focus was
looking at meeting the participant s goals, which was to decrease depressive thoughts and behaviors.
This therapeutic group worked as an inpatient facility, and I think this is different from most other
treatment groups. It s different, because it was dealing with adolescents struggling with depression,
and had an indefinite stay at Greenleaf. There are many factors and concepts from our class present in
this treatment group. One of the first concepts that I found in this group was its group work values.
Many of the participants found a positive value from coming to the group. This makes handling
groups easier, because it causes less stress on the facilitator to keep control of derailers and whiners.
Another group value that I saw was that cooperation and democracy. I feel like this ideal was
embodied in each group member, because from my perception they felt as though they had thought

Edgar Allan Poe s The Tell-Tale Heart
What does it mean to be an immaculate killer or a crazed man? In the story The Tell Tale Heart , by
Edgar Allan Poe, the man is portrayed as a very skillful killer and a mad man. Edgar Allan Poe uses
character, tone, and imagery in the short story to prove that the man is both truly mad and an
experienced killer. Poe depicts through his writing that he is in fact a very skilled killer. He uses
imagery to create the perfect scene of a murderer. Poe thoroughly details the killing of the old man
when he states First I cut off the head, then the arms and legs. I was careful not to let a single drop of
blood fall on the floor. (66) In this quote, the man is illustrating his knowledge and dexterity, of
murder. This scene shows the readers

  • 2. Candy Bars Vs Flower Fundraiser Have you ever thought about starting a different kind fundraiser at our school? Well, I have, and I think a flower fundraiser would be a great option. Who doesn t like flowers? Selling flowers could help us raise money for the school in many aspects. You could even sell the flowers individually or by the dozen. Purchasing flowers, in large quantities, would cost less. A flower fundraiser would be more beneficial than candy bars because you wouldn t have to buy as many flowers as bars, and you will get more profit from the flowers. A flower fundraiser will require fewer items to be sold and make more money for each item sold. For the school to make a $1000 profit for a flower fundraiser, you would need to purchase 883 flowers. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Growth Of Mobile Phones Essay Despite continued dynamic growth in the South African information and communication technology (ICT) sector, most significantly in the mobile sector, this growth has yet to meet the national goals of affordable access for all South Africans to the full range of information and communication services. Access to mobile voice and data continues to grow, however broadband access (in particular fixed line broadband) remains comparatively and noticeably lower than other lower to middle income countries. Prices of all communication services in South Africa continue to remain high by both global and and most noticeably, African standards. Growth in the ICT sector has consistently risen at almost twice the national growth rate, and today ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are now few differences, in use of basic voice and SMS services, between mobile phone users in urban and rural areas, or between those at the top of the pyramid (ToP) and those at the base of the pyramid (BoP). (RIA South Africa 2012 Household and Individual ICT Access and Use Survey) The increased availability of the latest smart devices at lower costs, along with some respite in the costs of mobile data services has also sparked the rapid increase of mobile phone usage by both personal and business users. The establishment of a mobile termination rate (MTR) by the seemingly ineffective sector regulator, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has gone some way to dropping mobile phone charges, but is still some way off from making the access truly affordable and competitive by global standards. However, due to the MTR, Telkom Mobile and Cell C, the smallest of the four main mobile operators in South Africa have been able to put some pressure on Vodacom and MTN, leading to more competitive packages being offered on both voice and data across all networks. This is still insignificant when one considers that the cheapest prepaid mobile phone product is South Africa is nearly 750% more expensive than the cheapest similar product in Africa. As for the later, in the next ten years Atlanta will go from predominantly black and liberal landscape to a more white conservative population, if we aren t including or afforded the benefits of gentrification. The exodus of the Black poor and working class to the suburbs, will in effect lead to the loss of Black politicians and old time supporters of the old Atlanta. Gray Markets LVMH has found that gray markets, markets where a firm s product are sold or resold through unauthorized dealers, are a significant problem. In Japan, handbags cost more than 40% more than they did in France (Nikoemeran). This difference in price created a gray market where groups from Japan would fly to France to purchase Louis Vuitton handbags for resale through parallel channels in Japan. These gray markets can create a number of problems for LVMH. The first is the dilution of the exclusivity, where the exclusive rights of distributors are watered down due to the influx of additional distributors of the same product. The result is a drop in margins for distributor (Sloan). A second problem gray markets create is free riding. Free riding occurs when authorized distributors start skimping on important services they provide to promote a product, such as presale service, education on product attributes and sales person training. This reduction in services causes the customers of high end brands, who value these services, to abandon the brand (Sloan). The third problem caused by gray markets is damage to channel relationships. Manufacturers spend a lot of time and money establishing relationships with their distribution network. The result of gray markets is unhappy distributor(s) that could greatly affect the flow of a manufacturer s product and therefore could be very costly (Sloan). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both dog training advice and college studying advice include the need for consistency, frequency, and repetition, along with using both types of reinforcement. Despite these similarities, dogs and students differ in what they are learning and how exactly they show that they have learned. Advice to college students and dog trainers are comparable in fundamental ways; their methods and reactions to conditioning are similar but what exactly the person or dog is learning can make it seem as if the two types of advice have very little in common. Studying and dog training advice both include the need for frequency, consistency, and repetition. The ASPCA (n.d.) states that, once a dog has learned a trick, trainers should regularly test the dog throughout the day to ensure the dog remembers how to perform it. Dogs also learn quicker when using the same phrases each training session, such as using only lay down for a command versus mixing it with get down . History of an Atom In this day and age, almost every educated middle school student would be able to sketch and label a given diagram of an atom. However, still to this day, not one human has seen what an atom looks like. Our current atomic model, the same one in which you most likely learnt in 5th grade, is really just an educated theory, comprised of years of experimental trials and errors. In fact, the original four elements, introduced by ancient philosopher Aristotle: Fire Air, Water, and Earth, were once believed the only elements forming natural matter. Although frowned upon by the ancient Greek society, philosophers Leucippus and Democritus developed their own theoretical understanding of nature. Their theory concluded that every ... His diagram quickly gained the label plum pudding, as the electrons similarly resembled the plum slices inside of a pudding. 1909: Ernest Rutherford The atomic model evolved to a familiar diagram following the results of Rutherford s popular gold foil experiment. Essentially, a student of Rutherford s class had been examining the possible pattern of positively charged particles contacting the element of gold. While filming the student s examination, Rutherford noticed that most of the particles flew straight through, and only a tiny portion either bounced straight back or off of an angle. If Thomson s model was correct, all of the radium particles should have bounced off of the foil however, they did not. This led Rutherford to believe that the positive charge of an atom is not equal to the whole of an atom, but rather an even smaller core, located in the middle of the atom, surrounded by the negatively charged electrons. He concluded that the atom is mostly empty space, and that most of the atoms mass came from the small central core which he declared the nucleus. 1913: Niels Bohr Niels Bohr, a former student of Rutherford, proposed his own theory: the quantum theory. Furthering Rutherford s model, Bohr insisted that electrons spin around the nucleus in fixed orbits , such as planets around the sun. The conduct of individual states, previously regarded as an exclusively domestic matter, is now of international concern. However, since the drafting of the treaty in 1997 and its subsequent entry into force, only 122 nations have signed and ratify the treaty. 50 states parties remain as non signatories, including the United States.[ii] This fact has lead to a large amount of public outcry and questioning in the international community. It is in looking at how the United States has chosen to answer the questions and the actions they have taken that the truth of the issue comes to the fore. The most publicized usage of the anti personnel mine is by the United States of America. While the U.S. ceased exporting their anti personnel land mines in 1993, the use of mines throughout the world has continued.[iii] Up until 1999, the United States relied on the use of anti personnel mines as a means of protection in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.[iv] It was that removal of the anti personnel mines in Cuba, contracted under the United States lease on Guantanamo Bay, that U.S. President Bill Clinton tried to use a bargaining chip in treaty negotiations. • 30. Flat Tax Vs. The Progressive Tax System When comparing the benefits and issues between the flat tax and the progressive tax, it is important to understand the way these two systems operate in today s economy. The flat tax can be defined as a tax that requires every individual to pay the same rate of deduction regardless of their income. On the other hand, a progressive tax can be defined as a tax where the tax rate is increased based on the income a person earn. This system is operated through the use of tax brackets, where the levels of income are divided into different ranges with each range having a tax rate more significant than the range below it. Furthermore, when evaluating the efficiency of both of these tax systems, one may discover that the progressive tax system provides several different factors that contribute to the efficiency of the economy in United States. The progressive tax system enables the government to fund services that meet the crucial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the conflicts that people may argue toward this system is that it may discourage people from earning more income because their higher income may be taxed at a higher rate. For instance, since any head of the household who earns an income between $13,250 to $50,400 is taxed at the rate of %15, they may lose more of their savings when compared to the tax bracket below them, which taxes 5% less. Therefore, people may consider maintaining their income at anywhere below $13,250 to avoid having it taxed a higher rate. In addition, some may also argue that this system fails to encourage people to invest in businesses because of the significant rates the government may tax on their additional profit and the initial opening of their establishment. This leads to a form of socioeconomic inequality between those who can afford to pay the tax on opening a business and those who can only afford to invest in purchasing a ... A variety of diagnostic descriptions entail characteristic symptoms throughout the stages of development. According to ASHA, the origin and clinical traits of CAS continues, although many researchers and clinicians are in agreement that it s a motor speech disorder. The most important characteristics are the inconsistency of mistakes on consonants and vowels that are replicated in the production of words and syllables. Another fundamental aspect of CAS is the disruption of co articulatory transitions. During coarticulation, the speech of children with CAS is discovered to be sturdier and more prolonged than of a typically developing child (Nijland et al., 2002, 2003). The disorder of CAS shows to be defined by its speech characteristics, but it also demonstrates impairments associated with other linguistics and non verbal functions. Historical occurrences will still exist, but they will be within the realm of the current political philosophical thought. Fukuyama goes even further to prove his point by showing that the new philosophies on government created since the oncoming of democracy, (Communism, Socialism, etc.) have ultimately failed and democracy has prevailed in its place. In the Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, Samuel Huntington argues that the primary political actors in the 21st century will be civilizations and that the primary conflicts will be conflicts between these civilizations rather then between nation states. Huntington Writes: It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not be primarily ideological or primarily economic. The origins of Piedmont are French, meaning foot of the mountain , because it s located at the base of the Appalachians Mountains. From the western Coastal Plane to the mountains, the elevations range from about 300 feet to near 1,500 feet (Seaman 2006). The fall line, or fault zone, lies between the Coastal Plain and the Piedmont. The rivers that flow along the fault line are formed from shoals, low waterfalls and rapids. As the rivers flow from the Piedmont to the coastal Plain the rocks become younger and softer. The streams below the fall line are usually lethargic and smooth flowing. The streams above the fall line are gravelly and shallow, making boating difficult. As for the land, the Piedmont is called a plateau because it is high and mostly flat. The explosion was cause by a surge of natural gas that made it way to the Horizon rig s platform that ignited. This caused the rig to capsize and sink, thus breaking risers that were being use to counter act the large amount of pressure from oil and natural gasses (Pallardy, 2015). The explosion killed 11 workers and injured 17 others. The explosion caused a massibe leak in the oil wellhead. It took 87 days for the wellhead to be closed and it is estimated that over that time around 210 million gallons of oil leaked into the gulf (Gulf Oil Spill, 2011). BP workers tried to activate a blowout prevent that was part of the Horizon rig s design. This mechanism was supposed to close off any way to draw out oil bu the mechanism malfunctioned due to the pressure form the gas and oil that cause the explosion (Pallardy, 2015).
