The primary difference between active transport and facilitated diffusion is that active transport
is the only one of the two in which the direction of transport is [S]_low rightarrow [S]_high the
direction of transport is- [S]high rightarrow [S]_low transporter proteins are required the
mechanism is not storable the S concentration grade provides the energy necessary for S
transport
Solution
The answer for the above question is : the direction of transport is [S] low to [S] high.
The active transport is different from facilitated transport because it uses energy to move the
molecules AGAINST the concentration gradient i.e., from a region of lower concentration to the
region of higher concentration.
We can take the example of intestines, where the concentration of nutrients are already very high
in the cells.
