- 15. Magic tales with Ivan characters Ivan is usually portrayed as the youngest of the three brothers. He’s thought to be silly (Ivan the Fool), but he has some hidden potential. Having beaten an evil monster (Bykov) or just having stayed truthful and encountered all the life difficulties (Ivan the Fool), they receive all the virtues and good things: fame, money, a wife, a house etc. He seems to be the most vivid and lively character. Ivan the Prince is another tale featuring Ivan as the main character. He belongs to the upper class and is asked by his father to cope with a strange creature stealing apples from their garden. The main idea of the tale is the importance of Ivan’s moral strength and friendship and readiness to help in return.
- 16. Conclusion The fairy tales are very important. In this sense fairy tales with existential notions are remarkable in three ways: not only for their ability to act as a way of passing knowledge from one generation to another, it servers as a remarkable example of Russian people’s wisdom and values and it gives a detailed description of life of ordinary people , which is right from the historical point of view.
