Barriers and challenges are not to be underestimated. Culture, education, skills, costs, perceptions of power and role, are essential for multidisciplinary action. This comes together in digital health literacy, which ought to become an integral part to navigate any health system. Patients living with an implanted device or coping with persistent, chronic disease such as diabetes, as well as citizens engaged in self-care, caring for an elderly relative, a neighbor, or their child with illness or deteriorating health, need a digital health compass.
The panel will engage the audience to elaborate on a vision for this personal, digital health compass and drive advancement in health informatics and digital health standards. The transformative power of health data fueled by targeted digital health literacy interventions can be leveraged by open, massive, and individualized delivery. Abstract
Effective patient adherence management strategies require better understanding of patient-generated data, including patient-reported data and measurements from devices and sensors, as key to assisting providers in learning more about their patients’needs and enhancing patient centric care. Gaining “meaningful use” of patient-generated data could ultimately lead to improvements in patient safety and outcomes. In this workshop, we review proof of concept studies using technology to assess patient health literacy and self-efficacy with the goal of providing timely intervention, remedy, and improvements in cost and quality of care. In particular, we focus on engagement-enabling technolgoies that can leverage non-clinical information sources and reflect patient activities in the “wild”. We look into barriers to adherence, patients and providers roles in improving adherence, and the use of technology to assist patients in staying on track. The speakers will address the issues related tothe integration of patient-generated data into everyday life and clinical practice and share lessons learned from implementing these designs in practice. This workshop aims to share requirements gathered for the design of next-generation healthcare systems, especially in areas where the explosive availability of patient-generated data is expected to make impacts.

Patients living with an implanted device or coping with persistent, chronic disease such as diabetes, as well as citizens engaged in self-care, caring for an elderly relative, a neighbor, or their child with illness or deteriorating health, need a digital health compass.
The panel will engage the audience to elaborate on a vision for this personal, digital health compass and drive advancement in health informatics and digital health standards. The transformative power of health data fueled by targeted digital health literacy interventions can be leveraged by open, massive, and individualized delivery. This way, digital health literate, confident patients and citizens join health professionals, researchers and policy makers to address age-related health and wellness changes to shape the emerging precision medicine and population health initiatives.

Abstract
Effective patient adherence management strategies require better understanding of patient-generated data, including patient-reported data and measurements from devices and sensors, as key to assisting providers in learning more about their patients’needs and enhancing patient centric care. Gaining “meaningful use” of patient-generated data could ultimately lead to improvements in patient safety and outcomes. In this workshop, we review proof of concept studies using technology to assess patient health literacy and self-efficacy with the goal of providing timely intervention, remedy, and improvements in cost and quality of care. In particular, we focus on engagement-enabling technolgoies that can leverage non-clinical information sources and reflect patient activities in the “wild”. We look into barriers to adherence, patients and providers roles in improving adherence, and the use of technology to assist patients in staying on track. The speakers will address the issues related tothe integration of patient-generated data into everyday life and clinical practice and share lessons learned from implementing these designs in practice. This workshop aims to share requirements gathered for the design of next-generation healthcare systems, especially in areas where the explosive availability of patient-generated data is expected to make impacts.

Although entertainment, social connection, and gaming will drive the initial adoption of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology, the deepest and most significant impact of the next generation of VR/AR technology will be to enhance clinical care and to improve personal health and wellness.
We know from decades of clinical research that VR/AR technology can provide breakthrough solutions that address the most difficult problems in healthcare - ranging from mood disorders such as Anxiety and Depression to PTSD, Addictions, Autism, Cognitive Aging, Stroke Recovery and Physical Rehabilitation, to name just a few.
VR technology also improved clinical measurements and assessments, can greatly improve medical training such as surgical skill training and procedure planning. Personal health and wellness will be improved by using VR to promote healthy lifestyles and to reduce stress and anxiety. Quantified Self: A Pathway to Personal Health
Behavior change, especially health behavior change, is a deeply complex topic steeped in insights and exploration from various disciplines. Research in the field of health psychology has recently explored and highlighted the role of self-tracking as an effective tool for health behavior change. While self-tracking is a promising avenue to explore, there is little insight into the mechanisms by which self-tracking may be providing individuals the means to change their behavior.
Over the last few years there has been a swelling movement of individuals using self-tracking tools and systems to better understand and improve aspects of their lives. This growing community, Quantified Self, has blossomed into a worldwide movement of individuals discussing tools, methods and outcomes derived from self-tracking experimentation. The wealth of knowledge from the Quantified Self community provides us with a number of insights into not only how people use self-tracking, but also it’s possible future use cases as intelligent system design progresses.

Advances in technology will allow the development of persuasive and omnipresent health behavior games for people of all ages.
Exercise and Stress Reactivity in Humans and Animals: A Meta Analysis
This meta-analysis examined the effect of exercise on stress reactivity in both human and animal studies. For human studies, 47 randomized controlled trials were identified and 30 were included in the analysis, totaling over 1,200 participants. The overall weighted effect size was -0.31, indicating that exercise led to a moderate reduction in stress reactivity. For animal studies, 34 studies were identified and 27 were included, totaling over 400 animals. The overall weighted effect size was -0.33, also showing that chronic free-wheel running led to a moderate reduction in stress reactivity as measured by neuroendocrine markers. The findings provide support for using exercise programs to reduce stress responses and for studying potential mechanisms in animal models.

Recently social network researchers have examined how obesity (and happiness) can travel through a social network. The growth of connections to social networks through communication portals such as Facebook and Twitter allows for flow of information between individuals that can lead to a healthier and a more knowledgeable population. This talk will help examine and explain how social network technology can be beneficial from a health perspective.
Deconstructing Exergames
This document proposes a method for systematically analyzing the behavioral principles underlying exergame design using operant theory. The method involves independent coding of exergame play to identify antecedents, behaviors, and consequences. Coders record observations which are then analyzed qualitatively by assigning theoretical constructs and dimensions. The goal is to develop an understanding of how game design can influence player behavior and adherence. While operant theory does not capture all aspects of motivation and engagement, it provides a framework for examining the interaction between game contingencies and behavior. Future work aims to apply this method to investigate how behavioral principles correlate with game play and adherence in children.

Em consonância com os ODS – Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a Estratégia Global para a Saúde das Mulheres, Crianças e Adolescentes, e aplicando uma abordagem baseada nos direitos humanos, os esforços de cuidados pós-natais devem expandir-se para além da cobertura e da simples sobrevivência, de modo a incluir cuidados de qualidade.
Estas diretrizes visam melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados pós-natais essenciais e de rotina prestados às mulheres e aos recém-nascidos, com o objetivo final de melhorar a saúde e o bem-estar materno e neonatal.
Uma “experiência pós-natal positiva” é um resultado importante para todas as mulheres que dão à luz e para os seus recém-nascidos, estabelecendo as bases para a melhoria da saúde e do bem-estar a curto e longo prazo. Uma experiência pós-natal positiva é definida como aquela em que as mulheres, pessoas que gestam, os recém-nascidos, os casais, os pais, os cuidadores e as famílias recebem informação consistente, garantia e apoio de profissionais de saúde motivados; e onde um sistema de saúde flexível e com recursos reconheça as necessidades das mulheres e dos bebês e respeite o seu contexto cultural.
Estas diretrizes consolidadas apresentam algumas recomendações novas e já bem fundamentadas sobre cuidados pós-natais de rotina para mulheres e neonatos que recebem cuidados no pós-parto em unidades de saúde ou na comunidade, independentemente dos recursos disponíveis.
É fornecido um conjunto abrangente de recomendações para cuidados durante o período puerperal, com ênfase nos cuidados essenciais que todas as mulheres e recém-nascidos devem receber, e com a devida atenção à qualidade dos cuidados; isto é, a entrega e a experiência do cuidado recebido. Estas diretrizes atualizam e ampliam as recomendações da OMS de 2014 sobre cuidados pós-natais da mãe e do recém-nascido e complementam as atuais diretrizes da OMS sobre a gestão de complicações pós-natais.
O estabelecimento da amamentação e o manejo das principais intercorrências é contemplada.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
