Magic Gold Tree is a short story contest entry for ChampChild.com's Story Writing contest for kids 4-6 years old

1. THE MAGIC GOLD COIN
While walking on the beach one day, I saw something shiny
in the sand. I tried to dig it out. It was a gold coin. I picked it
up and went back home and hid it under the soil in my
garden. It rained heavily that night. The next day when I
went to the garden to look for my coin I saw a tree. I was
shocked that I yelled out so loud. My mother came running
into the garden hearing me yell. My mother asked me why I
was yelling, so told her the whole story. When she heard the
story she had a spark in her eyes and she asked me where I
hid it. I showed her the place. She ran back home picked a
book, flipped some pages and started reading and then came
back to the garden to look at the tree again. She told me that
the tree was a gold tree which people and pirates around the
world had been searching for a 50000 years and it was said
to be lost in the seas and I have found it by luck. My mom
told me to bring a bucket of water and pour it on the tree. To
my surprise the plant grew and pieces of gold hung from
each stem. We were overjoyed, we danced and sang, jumped
and ran and enjoyed our day thinking that we are going to be
rich. That day was the happiest day of my life. Suddenly I got
of my bed smiling but that day was just a dream.
