3. • Advances in technology are increasing and changing
the ways that patients experience dental treatments.
• Technology helps to reduce treatment time and makes
treatment more effective and comfortable.
• One of the milestones in technological advancements in
dentistry is the use of LASERS.
• The term “LASER” is the acronym for “Light
Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation”.
• Lasers provide more efficient, more comfortable and
more predictable outcomes for the patient.

4. O The aim and objective of my course is to teach dentists
how to use lasers with different wavelengths in dentistry,
and with accurate parameters and safety for the medical
team and patient.
O Attendees will understand dental laser physics.
O Attendees will also learn laser tissue interaction in both
soft and hard tissue.

6. O One year timeframe
O 3 modules total
O June, 2015 (3 days), November, 2015 and May, 2016
O There will be lectures and hands-on training on Er:YAG
and Diode lasers (soft tissue and hard tissue)
O The course will consist of three meetings over a one-
year period

8. O After each meeting, (3 meetings total) there will be a written
examination and written assessment
O After completing the total program, there will be an oral
examination for final completion of requirements and issue of
certificate

9.  Each meeting will consist of both lectures and hands-on
training on both hard and soft tissue.
 The meetings will cover the different lasers used.

10. After passing all written examinations, finishing all
requirements and passing the oral examination and
assessment, each dentist will be awarded and receive the
Certificate from The American Board of Laser Surgery in
Laser Dentistry.
