The Thrust SSC is a British jet-propelled car that holds the world land speed record of 1,265.43 km/h, set on October 15, 1997. It was developed by Richard Noble to be the fastest car in the world and became the first car to break the sound barrier in level flight. The constructor of Thrust SSC also built other supersonic cars to push speed limits.
