The student gained valuable voluntary experience working with Age Concern Leicester at their Day Care Centre. Typical duties included transporting elderly clients to and from the centre, serving meals and drinks, and socializing through activities like board games. Through regular interaction with clients from diverse backgrounds, the student enhanced their interpersonal, communication, listening and networking skills. They feel more confident relating to different types of people. The experience also improved their teamwork abilities. The student believes the balance of studies and voluntary work has enriched their university experience and the skills acquired will benefit their future career.
