Who we are!!! Although most people find the details involved in event planning daunting, April found she loves the process. It is the organization and attention to detail, that she brought to a climbing corporate career, that makes an event a memorable one (for all the RIGHT reasons!)  With an eye for detail and innate sense of style, April believes that every couple deserves their day to be the most spectacular it can be. Since 1997, April Dorsey, company president and wedding consultant, has planned a variety of unique and stylish occasions. Living in Orlando for more than twenty years has given her plenty of resources for planning classy, urban events in the City Beautiful. However, she isn’t limited to Orlando, as she has also coordinated events across the country and internationally. April provides a unique perspective to event planning after her career in the Pharmaceutical industry, as Director of Sales and Marketing.  After deciding that it was time to do what she loved, April put her creativity, inter-personal and organizational skills to full-time use and became an event consultant. A current member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, April delivers top-quality service to her clients to create wonderful and memorable celebrations. I Want You There- Day of Coordination This package is for the bride and groom who want a coordinator present on their Wedding Weekend. We will begin to meet about two months prior to your Wedding Day to talk about the itinerary for the wedding day and make sure that all the little details have been considered. A coordinator will be present at your rehearsal to assure a smooth and effective rehearsal and present the Big Day to assure everyone is in the right place at the right time (from your family and wedding party, to your vendors, to the limo waiting to whisk you away to your honeymoon suite!) I Want To Talk- Brainstorming Service Not every bride needs help throughout the entire planning process so we do offer a “Consultation package” to create a “blueprint” for a perfect wedding day. We will point you in the right direction to have a stress-free planning process. We develop a timeline and budget that you are comfortable with. Included in this session would be the answers to any etiquette questions. The bride and groom will be supplied with vendor recommendations following their consultation in each planning category to contact. Let’s review the Day of Coordination The term "Day-Of" for wedding coordination is quite misleading.  Professional wedding consultants do not, and cannot, come in the morning of your wedding after all your months of planning to only coordinate the "Day-of" the wedding.     As with any good executed plan, there must be strategic design, organization, communication, and execution.  Wedding consultants who are hired at the end of the wedding planning process must do a tremendous amount of catch up, no matter what the size of the wedding, to get up to speed on their clients' wedding planning.  The average wedding is planned somewhere between nine and fifteen months.  That means wedding consultants coming in after such a lengthy time period must work harder, longer and faster to conceptualize the wedding vision, your wedding vision.      It is important for every bride to really understand the pricing for this service w hen considering company to perform any wedding planning service. She is hiring that company primarily in the capacity of consulting/planning for the  execution  of her wedding plan, up to and including the wedding day.  Wedding consulting/planning is labor.  Labor equals time. Time is the main mechanism by which wedding planners and consultants get paid.     Just like with every "service/labor" company (i.e.:  attorneys, electricians, etc.), there is an hourly labor rate that said earns.   A breakdown of our wedding consultant's time for "Day-of" service looks something like this: A minimum of 10 Wedding planning hours to get caught up with YOUR plans 1 - 2 Hours to coordinate wedding rehearsal and pick up items for wedding 3 Hours to arrive at the ceremony site before the wedding to oversee plans 8-12 Hours Wedding and Reception Management Up to 1 hour clean up (i.e.: pick up favors, re-pack up items to be returned to clients, etc.)     = 28 HOURS of service time MINIMUM   As you can see, the wedding consultant did not just show up and manage the “Day Of” the wedding.  She had to "catch up" and "organize" the details so "she" along with "her team” may effectively and efficiently manage the wedding day.  No matter what, a good Wedding planner will give you a stress free day- just show up and celebrate!!!
