The Church is an essential part of living the Christ Centered Life. It is the body of Christ living together for Christ helping one another to live each one's life for Christ. We can't do it alone. If Christ loved his church and gave his life for it, shouldn't we as followers love what Christ loved?
EVANGELISM 101: Lesson 1 - Biblical Foundations of EvangelismFrancis Hernandez
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
"It (Evangelism) comes from the same Greek word for gospel (euangelion) and means, literally, “gospeling.” When we evangelize we are “gospeling” — we are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ." - https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/what-evangelism/
Every Christian is called to do the divine task of evangelism. Evangelism is a task not just for the select churches, or for the evangelists or pastors. This is Lesson 1 of EVANGELISM 101 Series. Given last April 23, 2021 at HOPE Christian Fellowship in Guinobatan, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines by Ptr. Francis S. Hernandez.

Learn what the anointing and why it is needful for today. The anointing may not be what you think it might be. It could be more needful to understand this than at any other time in history.
God gave us His Word for a purpose. God wants us to be with Him in heaven. To do this we must change from serving Satan to serving God. God gave His Word so we would know how to live our lives. God gave His Word so we would change.

The Christ Centered Life (Part 6): Unity Through HumilityDavid Turner

The Christ Centered Life (Part 4): The Work PlaceDavid Turner
People follow Christ at Church and sometimes in their homes, but often find it difficult to integrate their faith in Christ with their job. How do we practice our faith in the workplace? Paul answers this in Ephesians 6:5-9
The Christ Centered Life (Part 5): Everybody is SomebodyDavid Turner
The Christ Centered Life is a life that acknowledges the value of others. It does't just attempt to live for Christ, but also encourages others to live their lives for Christ. It helps others explore and use their abilities and gifts to the glory of their Lord. 1 Corinthians 12:12-31
God's Word can not be apart of you unless you take time to read his word. Prayer is talking to God. The Bible is God's way of talking to you. You can't grow in God's Word unless you're reading God's Word.
The Christ Centered Life (Part 8): StewardshipDavid Turner
Stewardship is about using our resources, time, and talent to advance the cause or Christ. We give what we have to advance God's Kingdom. It's about investing in the things that matter most to God. Matthew 6:19-21
The People of Proverbs (Part 5): The ScofferDavid Turner
Part five in a six part series of The People of Proverbs. The Scoffer is the most deplorable person in Proverbs. He is a fool, but more so, in that he/she causes division wherever he is found. There are strict warnings about accompanying oneself with the scoffer.
Part 2 of a six unit series on the People of Proverbs. The simple are characterized by inexperience to make proper choices. Nearly every teenager fits into this type (as well as many adults).
The People of Proverbs (Part 3): The SluggardDavid Turner
The third part of a series of six. The sluggard is characterized as slow. He is incapable of getting common choirs done and can bring disaster on himself and others.
The People of Proverbs (Part 6): The WiseDavid Turner
The last of a six unit series on The People of Proverbs. The wise listens to and studies other people. He learns from the simple, the fool, the sluggard and the scoffer and know how to make wise decisions and thus knows how to live a productive live. He is an encouragement to others.
The People of Proverbs (Part 4): The FoolDavid Turner
Part four of a six part series on the people of Proverbs. The Fool is close minded and opinionated. He has all the answers and listens to no one but himself. We are warned to walk cautiously when in the presence of the fool.

Interiorized Spirituality (Monasticism) and the Domestic ChurchAntiochianArchdiocese
A presentation given by Fr. George Morelli at the Society of St. John Chrysostom-Western Region (SSJC-WR) General Meeting, held at Prince of Peace Benedictine Monastery, Oceanside, CA on March 15, 2014.
"The Church" is the People that God gathers in the whole world. She exists in local communities and she draws her life from the word and the Body of Christ and so becomes Christ's Body. CCC 751- 752
Mary's role in the Church is inseparable from her union with Christ and flows directly from it.
Her union with the Son in the work of salvation is made manifest from the time of Christ's virginal conception up to his death.
She is our Mother in the order of grace: By her complete adherence to the Father's will, to his Son's redemptive work, and to every prompting of the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Mary is the Church's model of faith and charity.
Thus she is a "preeminent and unique member of the Church"; indeed, she is our model! CCC 963-967
The Olivet Discourse: When Will These Things Be? (Part 3)David Turner
This is the third and last of a third part series on the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24:36-51). Jesus answers the disciples' question, When will these things be?
The Olivet Discourse: What Will Be the sign of your coming? (Part 2)David Turner
This is part two of a three part series on the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24:29-35). This answers the disciple's question, What will be the sign of your coming?
The Olivet Discourse: When Is The End of The Age (Part 1)David Turner
This is part 1 of a three part series from Matthew 24:1-28 regarding Jesus prophesies on the end times. Jesus answers the question, when is the end of the age?
We are forgiven by God through Christ, therefore we ought to forgive others even as God has forgiven us. This is the heart of the Gospel. Growth in the spiritual life is often hindered because we often refuse to forgive others.
The Lord's Prayer was not taught to be repeated without thought as to what it means. It given by our Lord to teach us a model for prayer. In this presentation we will look at the components that make up a the way we ought to pray.
Are we trying to impress the world? Are we trying to impress others? Who are we trying to impress? Ultimately we can impress no one, not even God. But rewards are with God, not because we can impress him, but because he honors those that love him.
John 1:1 claims that all life is in Christ. He is the creator of life and he sustains all life. He is the author of physical life and spiritual life. Without him there is no life.
We call it the triumphal entry. Compared with the entry of other kings and generals it was modest. Compared to his future entry into Jerusalem all the kings entries of the past seem insignificant.
They Trusted In Something Greater Than ThemselvesDavid Turner
The founding fathers of our nation trusted in something greater than the Declaration of Independence. They trusted in the Bible and the God of the Bible. Our present leaders would do well to put their trust in the same God and the same Bible.
The greatest book of liberty is not a document or a declaration. The greatest book of liberty is the Bible. The bible presents the Gospel, the good news that sets me free.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Renewed in Grace
2. Every area of my life
should be Christ Centered
Christ
Family
Work
Church
Community
Education
Recreation
3. But Especially in the Church
Christ
Family
Work
Church
Community
Education
Recreation
4. We are not talking about:
• The Christ Centered Church.
– A person can attend a Christ Centered Church yet
not have a Christ Centered life.
• A Church will be Christ Centered if it’s people
are Christ Centered.
– A person can attend a church that isn’t Christ
Centered, yet have a Christ Centered life.
5. Before we discuss what it is to have a
Christ Centered Life in the Church let
us define
CHURCH
6. Church defined
• Secular word for church (NT – ekklasia):
– Ek – means “out”
– Klasia – to call or summon
– Thus, ekklasia mean “to call out” or form an
assembly.
• Acts 19:32 (ESV) Now some cried out one thing, some
another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of
them did not know why they had come together.
• Acts 19:41 And when he had said these things, he
dismissed the assembly.
8. Defining Church
• When applied to the New Testament Ekklesia
often applies to the local assembly of all those
who profess faith and allegiance to Christ.
– The local church..
– 1 Thessalonians 1:1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy,
To the church of the Thessalonians in God the
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and
peace.
9.
10. Defining Church
• When applied to the New Testament Ekklesia
also designated the universal church.
– In this sense the church is not the local assembly,
but rather the spiritual unity of all believers.
– Ephesians 1:22–23 22 And he put all things under
his feet and gave him as head over all things to the
church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him
who fills all in all.
11. One Church-One body
• Ephesians 4:4–6 (ESV) 4 There is one body and
one Spirit—just as you were called to the one
hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord,
one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father
of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
• There is not many churches – there is one
church
• There is not many denominations – there is
one church
12. The New Testament Church
• Does not refer to a local church building
• Nor a denomination
• Though “Catholic” is Greek (καθολικός ) for
Universal, the Roman Catholic Church is not the
universal church.
– There is no human organizational structure for the
church universal.
– The unity is that of the Spirit in the body of Christ.
– There are people in the Catholic church that are part
of the universal church, but the Catholic Church is not
the universal church.
13. So, What is the relationship of the
“Christ Centered Life to the
Church?”
14. We are not talking about:
• The Christ Centered Church.
– A person can attend a Christ Centered Church yet
not have a Christ Centered life.
– A person can attend a church that isn’t Christ
Centered, yet have a Christ centered life.
15. We are not talking about:
• The Church Centered Life.
– One can have a church centered life and not have
a Christ Centered life. People go to church for:
• Social interaction
• Networking
• Self-worth
• Social causes
• Morally guidance, or out of conscious
• Protective place for the kids
16. Try to Find a Christ Centered
assembly, but:
• A person can attend a local body that isn’t Christ
Centered, yet have a Christ centered life.
• The local body may be program centered
• The local body may be socially centered
• The local body may be self-centered
• The local body may be like a country club
– Though the local body may not be Christ Centered, it
doesn’t mean some believers in the local body are
not Christ Center.
• Remain Christ Centered
• Help the Church become Christ Centered
17. True believers make up the real Chruch
• To the ekklasia in Ephesus: Rev. 2:4 But I have
this against you, that you have abandoned the
love you had at first.
• Letter to the ekklasia in Sardis:
– Rev. 3:1 …“ ‘I know your works. You have the
reputation of being alive, but you are dead.
– Rev. 3:4 Yet you have still a few names in Sardis,
people who have not soiled their garments, and
they will walk with me in white, for they are
worthy.
18. What are we talking about?
• A Christ Centered Life has a special relationship
with the church (local and universal). A person
with a Christ Centered Life understands the
implications of being a part of:
– “Body of Christ”.
– “Bride of Christ”.
• If we truly love Christ, we will take care of the
health of his body, and be a faithful, committed
bride.
20. The Church is the body of Christ
• Eph. 1:22–23 22 And he put all things under his
feet and gave him as head over all things to
the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of
him who fills all in all.
• Eph. 4:11–12 11 And he gave the apostles, the
prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and
teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of
ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
21. The Church is the body of Christ
• The church is described as an organism with
Christ at the head and the church as the body.
– It’s bigger than any local Church
– But it finds it’s application in the local church
22. We take care of the body
• Every believer is a member of the body.
Therefore, every believer should:
– Care about the fitness of every part of the body
(local and universal)
– Have a role in the growth and operation of the
body (local and universal)
– Respond to the instructions of the head in caring
for the body (local and universal)
23. The Body of Christ is also
The Bride of Christ
24. The Body of Christ is also
The Bride of Christ
Ephesians 5:25–30 (ESV)
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church
and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her,
having cleansed her by the washing of water with the
word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in
splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that
she might be holy and without blemish. 28 In the same
way husbands should love their wives as their own
bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one
ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it,
just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are
members of his body.
25. As the Bride of Christ
• While the groom is gone
– The bride should remain faithful to the groom
– The bride, as the grooms body must keep the
body in good health
– The bride must keep herself pure
– The bride must always be ready for the grooms
return.
26. The Bride Should be excited
about his coming
Revelation 19:7–9 (ESV)
7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for
the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride
has made herself ready; 8 it was granted her to
clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for
the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. 9
And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are
those who are invited to the marriage supper of the
Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true
words of God.”
27. Many of you are soldiers.
You know the excitement of coming
home to family.
29. Jesus is a husband and a soldier
coming home for his bride.
Be Ready.
30. Until Then
Hebrews 10:23–25
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope
without wavering, for he who promised is
faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one
another to love and good works, 25 not
neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of
some, but encouraging one another, and all the
more as you see the Day drawing near.
