Censorship may be appropriate for protecting children from unsuitable images and language in education materials. However, censorship is unnecessary for adults in society who should be exposed to a free flow of information and think critically about what they see and hear. While some censorship can help children, too much censorship of information for all audiences is problematic as governments and others may use it to hide things they do not want citizens to know. People need information to be aware of current events and should analyze information critically rather than having information censored from them.
