2. BACKGROUND INFO
The Caddos lived in the southeast part of Texas (The upper-right corner.) They depended on the rain and the forests to give
them what they needed. They traded all across the United States; Georgia to California to Nebraska (Note: They did not
settle in all these places, just traded.) Their main trading partner was the French. The Caddos built large, dome-shaped
houses to protect themselves from the outside world. Made tools that was far more advanced than any other tribe. Had
farms that were unimaginably productive.
STRONG POINTS
1. They Hunted Turkey, Deer, Bear etc.
What makes a good hunter?
Know how to use a bow
How to throw a spear
How to use a dagger in ways of hunting
These are the same traits that is used to describe a hunter. This shows that the Caddos knew
how to fight and hunt.
2. They Grew Crops such as corn, beans, squah, pumpkins, plums, etc.
The Caddos not only knew how to farm, but to survive. You would have to be very intelligent to know how
to survive.
3. Caddo in Spanish is Te-haas.
Sounds familiar? Well, it should:
Te-haas = Those who are friends
Te-haas? Texas? Sound familiar now?
We Wouldn’t have the name Texas if it wasn’t for the Caddos!
BACKGROUND INFO/ STRONG POINTS
3. The Jumanos, Comanches, and Witchitas tribes were
also very intelligent and cunning, but I'm here to show
you why…
THE CADDOS
was the best tribe in Texas.
4. The Jumanos lived by the Rio Grande and in the mountains, both bad
locations to live in. The river would be a bad place to live by, not only
because of the mud, but mosquitos and other bug would come in
swarms. The Jumanos in the mountains would have difficulty farming
and finding land to make houses.
Some Jumanos actually failed the farm and ate the cacti around them
(discussing!) The Men cut their hair to only have on band of hair sticking
out of the top of their heads. Weird huh? They were the most passive
tribe and all of Texas and never did anything for themselves. Weak and
spineless.
And the last point I want to make out is something so humiliating that its
hilarious. At the end of the Jumanos’ rein, they died out and joined
different tribes. One those tribes happens to be, lo and behold, the
Caddos. The Jumanos Joined the Caddos. Wow.
MY TRIBE IS BETTER THAN THE
JUMANOS IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS
5. Like the Jumanos, the Comanches lived in a deserted area, hunting
buffalo and never stopped moving. Never really had a permanent
village with houses and farms. Their main goals were hunting and
fighting, and that is all they ever did: hunt and fight. Their whole
community was based on hunting and fighting. The would never
stay in a permanent village because of hunting; They followed the
buffalo and when the buffalo left, they followed. The fought to take
over the Apaches land. The Comanches fought then hunted, then
fought, then hunted, then fought, then hunted. It just keeps going
on and on. The men stole horses so they could hunt and fight faster.
And to top it all off, all males had to become warriors/hunters. Not
farmers, hunters/ fighters.
MY TRIBE IS BETTER THEN THE COMANCHES
IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS.
6. Like the Comanches, the Witchitas were mostly at war. They had
mediocre farm land and a bad reputation with the Spanish. They
traded with the French, much like the Caddos, but had
disagreements and they fought. The Apaches pushed the Wichitas
out of Texas into Kansas. The Witchitas only lived in Texas for a short
period of time( It was shorter than some other tribes.) They always
provoked other tribes for their land and fought them. The usual
outcome would be them losing. All in all, very unorganized tribe.

WITCHITAS IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS
