The document discusses different perspectives on conquering restlessness from various spiritual texts and teachers. It explains that restlessness arises from being identified with the constantly desiring mind rather than the knowing presence. Both Buddhism and Vedanta discuss observing feelings like boredom or restlessness with awareness in order to realize one's true nature beyond conditions. The Dalai Lama emphasizes that kindness and compassion are necessities to survive, and his simple religion is cultivating goodness within.

This book is an inner excellence self-help guide to help us discover our true Being, release our pain and find deeper inner peace.
When we are intensely present in the Now, we respond from deep consciousness and flow with ease and joy in life. In so doing, we can better fulfill our outer purpose ( to achieve goals and seek to create a better world) while fulfilling our inner purpose and truly changing the world at cause.
Tolle started the book by sharing the circumstance and experiences leading to his “ Enlightenment”. Like many others, he had suffered from anxiety and even suicidal depression for many years. Then, when he was 29 years old, he had a personal epiphany which brought him “ a state of the most intense joy” and changed the course of his life since.
Happy reading
My own personal philosophy to life.
This handbook on how to live freely expresses my own personal views, values and how I deal with my own shortcoming, I am no psychologist nor do I claim to be one, the goal of this handbook is to merely outline the various methods and values that have proven to be highly helpful and effective in achieving and maintaining contentment within my own mind and my day to day life.
How to let go of the thoughts that cause depressionkirti betai
Depression is different from other illnesses in that, in addition to the physiological symptoms (loss of appetite, nervousness, sleeplessness, fatigue), there are the accompanying thoughts that can be so incredibly painful.
All sufferings are caused by separations, discriminations, or duality. That's because the separation between oneself and others cause all afflictions such as fear, anger and despair. And the root cause of such separations and discriminations is thoughts and notions created by human brain. In this book, I will share the "concrete practice methods to stop thinking" and the "concrete practice methods for the extinction of all notions" and explain their details. These methods have been verified through my own experience and many of them are based on the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, namely the teachings of Buddha. It is my great pleasure if you will awaken true self, touch the wonders of life in the present moment and be filled with peace, joy and happiness through the practice.

Slide 1: Title: Exploring the Mindfulness: Understanding Its Benefits
Slide 2: Introduction to Mindfulness
Mindfulness, defined as the conscious, non-judgmental observation of the present moment, has deep roots in Buddhist meditation practice but has gained significant popularity in the Western world in recent years. In today's society, filled with distractions and constant stimuli, mindfulness offers a valuable tool for regaining inner peace and reconnecting with our true selves. By cultivating mindfulness, we can develop a heightened awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, leading to a greater sense of clarity and presence in our daily lives.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
1. The Buddha Way in Modern Life Session no 1 – Conquering Restlessness
2. Conquering Restlessness The first essential step is conquering ones restlessness is to realise why is one restless: Why do I get restless when I am at the theater and the show does not start on time or I have sent someone a very urgent message and they do not respond? Maybe I have not learnt To Live in the Present. I need to correct that
3. Conquering Restlessness Does it mean that the other should continue to behave unethically (as in the case of the show not starting on time or a person being late for an appointment)? If I could correct that, then it would be even better. How to do all this would be at the heart of the discussions For Curing Restlessness is the first step to A Happy and Secure Life.
4. This is what Eckhart Tolle has to say: Eckhart Tolle wrote in his ‘Stillness Speaks’: “The mind exists in a state of ‘not enough’ and so is always greedy for more. When you are identified with (the) mind, you get bored and restless very easily. When you feel bored (because essentially that is what you are when waiting restlessly for a concert to start)….. You CAN satisfy the mind’s hunger by picking up a magazine, making a phone call (made easier by the mobile phone age), switching on the TV, surfing the Web, going shopping or…
5. Eckhart continued: OR you can stay bored and restless and observe what it feels like to be bored and restless. As you bring awareness to that feeling, there is suddenly some space and stillness around it, as it were. A little at first, but as the sense of inner space grows, the feeling of boredom will begin to diminish in intensity and significance. So even boredom (or restlessness) can teach you who are you and who you are not
6. Eckhart continued: You discover that a ‘bored person’ is not who you are. Boredom is simply a conditioned energy movement within you. Neither are you angry, sad or fearful person. Boredom, anger, sadness, or fear are not ‘yours,’ not personal. They are conditions of the human mind. They come and go. Nothing that comes and goes is you. ‘I am bored.’ Who knows this? ‘I am angry, sad, afraid.’ Who knows this?” He then added: “You Are The Knowing, Not the Condition That Is Known.”
7. What did The Vedas have to say: The ancient Vedas including the Bhagvad Gita have spoken repeatedly of ‘The Seer’ within us mortals. The Seer can observe our bodily actions and urge the mind to introspect and influence the body’s behaviour. This would take us a paradigm step forward to Understanding Ourselves and Making Life Happier and More Meaningful
8. The Meek shall inherit the Earth – Redefined, By Jon W. Quinn In The Sermon of the Mount, The Lord said "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" (MATTHEW 5:5) The word ‘meek’ means to be gentle, humble or considerate. It is the opposite of arrogance and violence. Those who are willing to share and sacrifice on behalf of others are meek. Those who seek domination and will use any means to trample and crush others are the opposite. Those who are willing to share and sacrifice ‘shall inherit the earth’.
9. The Meek shall inherit the Earth – Redefined, By Jon W. Quinn Meekness does not mean weakness! It does not mean retreat from one’s principles. It does not involve surrender of one’s rights. Meek men and women show firm resolve, courage, conviction and strength. ‘Inherit the earth’ is a figure of speech which denotes the highest of blessings. These blessings are realized when the righteous enjoy the good things of life which the wicked often overlook, namely Peace, Security and Hope
10. The Dalai Lama hasa very practical andrefreshing perspective Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive. I myself feel, and also tell other Buddhists that the question of Nirvana will come later. If in day to day life you lead a good life, honesty, with love, with compassion, with less selfishness, then automatically it will lead to Nirvana. Only the development of compassion and understanding for others can bring us the tranquility and happiness we all seek.
11. My religionis very simple. My religion is kindness. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don't hurt them. The purpose of all the major religious traditions is not to construct big temples on the outside, but to create temples of goodness and compassion inside, in our hearts. This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.
12. My religionis very simple. My religion is kindness. Whether one believes in a religion or not and whether one believes in rebirth or not, there isn't anyone who doesn't appreciate kindness and compassion. WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT RELIGION AND MEDITATION, BUT WE CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT HUMAN AFFECTION
