The Beatles were a highly successful and influential English rock band formed in 1960 in Liverpool. They gained international fame by 1964 and broke up in 1970, during which time they released 12 studio albums that went to #1 in the UK. The band was composed of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Their 1969 album Abbey Road was an immediate commercial success and featured hit singles "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun." Abbey Road has since been hailed as one of their finest albums.

 The Beatles were an English rock band from Liverpool, one of
the most successful and influential musical groups in history.
They were formed in 1960, reached international fame by 1964,
and broke up in 1970. During their time together, they released
12 studio albums in the United Kingdom, 11 of which went to #1
in the album charts. In the United States, the Beatles' popularity
was the peak of the British invasion, when many British bands
found great success with their rock and roll music.

 Born on October 9,1940 in
Liverpool,England.
 Lennon’s mother died when he was
young.
 He learned how to play the banjo
(which translates to guitar) and the piano.
 He was killed by a fan on December
8,1980 in New York.

5. PAUL MCCARTNEY
 Born on June 18,1942 in
Liverpool, England.
 His mother died when he
was only 14 years old.
 His father encouraged him
to try out musical instruments.
 He learned how to play the
guitar, trumpet and the piano.

6. GEORGE HARRISON
 Born on February 25,1943 in
Liverpool,England
 He was the youngest of four
children in his family
 He had little interest in
school,he was more interested in
the electric guitar and American
Rock’n’Roll

 Born on July 7,1940 in
Liverpool,England
 He missed a lot of school
due to an illness and dropped
out as a teenager
 His stepfather wanted him to
pursue his interest in music and
bought him a drum kit

8. ABBEY ROAD
 Abbey Road is the eleventh studio album by The Beatles
released on September 26 1969. The album's initially mixed
reviews were contrasted by its immediate commercial
success, topping record charts in the UK and US. Lead
single “Something" / “Come Together" was released in
October and topped US charts.

 Named after the location of
EMI Studios in London, the cover
features the group walking across
the street's zebra crossing, an
image that became one of the
most famous and immitated in
popular music EMI Studios was
also renamed Abbey Road Studios
in honor of the album.

10. ABBEY ROAD
 Upon release, detractors found Abbey Road to be inauthentic
and bemoaned the production's artificial effects. Since then,
many critics have hailed the album as the Beatles' finest; in
particular, "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun" are
considered among the best songs George Harrison wrote for the
group. The album has also been ranked as one of the Beatles'
best-selling, including a multi-platinum certification by the RIAA.
